Mandatory.

(I guess it's alright then to move on...? As said, if you want to join here, Nylon, feel free to do so when you come by!)

That instant startle Shiva felt from the suddeness these Pokemon appeared from...seemingly the ceiling full of holes that Shiva stared up to in wonder somewhat quickly faded as it turns out to be a bunch of Spinda! Instantly, she puts her hands together in joy and silently admires the CUTENESS these Pokemon emit - to her, they look like vivid plushies, very confused and weird plushies, but cute nevertheless! She's also aware of the lore about one particular Spinda featuring a spot in the shape of a heart, a tale of a it leading a woman to a meadow of flowers where she met her fiance who was this Spinda's owner surrounds it. Her heart almost melted away when she read about this as a young girl.

Shiva will watch these Spinda for a little, but not too long to actually get confused by them and their 'dancing'/walking. What do they do, how do they behave, are they shy towards humans or not?

--------------------
Mechanics:
My aim is obtaining one with Tangled Feet Ability for obvious reasons, after having watched these Spinda for a little I wanted to have Lilith use Flatter on them all (this move auto-confuses as well as lowers their Strength by 1), then see which ones seems to walk more disorientated = pointing to Tangled Feet and which ones don't seem to care = Own Tempo Ability. Is that possible, does that sounds feasible for Shiva?

Not quite, because spread moves only affect 5 Pokemon at your current power level, and there are 14 Spinda. But if you spent a whole round Flattering, they'd all be confused. You will instantly be able to tell what their abilities are as soon as they're confused.

The Spinda look like they're about to converge upon Shiva and Valder - who knows what they intend.

Move Tutoring was a field of Speciality Ventus was hardly well practiced or experience in, but never the less he felt that he had made great strides teaching his darling Malphena Nasty Plot, judging by how she seemed to absorb the Knowledge and proceeded to immediately put it into devious use. 'Well, now I know their's another area of expertise I could switch to, should Pokémon Research no longer prove fruitful or fulfilling!' he amusingly thought to himself, as he watched his archangel and 'horrifying' little sister practice and play to their heart's content. Moments like these would only get more sparse the deeper the group traveled into Mt. Sentry's depths, so he was going to enjoy this camaradence while it lasted! Afterwards, he'd go back towards Mr. Finder and help guard him with Lucifer/Malphena.

Raphael's, while a gentle caring soul at heart, also took great joy in assisting in teaching their banshee of a sister the diabolical art of Nasty Plotting, as they both never had the chance to use it and helping their friends and family out was one of their favorite things in the world to do. Its also an opportunity to bond with their father some more, those occassion seemingly getting rarer and rarer as time went, so they made sure to get their fill of their caring ministrations before going back into their Pokeball. Hopefully they'll be able to spend more time with them in the future, but for now they are content....

Eventually the group moved onwards and deeper into the bowls of Mt. Sentry's Laberyth, the sociologist on high alert for any duplicitus activity or threats that would do everyone harm, while Lucifer glided overhead and scout the way forward, ready to fly back and raise the alarm should he spot anything suspicious/interesting! Therefore upon arriving in the stalagmite cavern, he and his brother  quickly tuned in on the sound of a Pokémon burrowing in the west, ready to pop out do who knows what to everyone? Weighing the opportunity costs/risk of leaving Shiva to deal with the horde of Spinda or leaving Heart to deal with that duo of Gligar whose eyes glimmered with toying intent, he decided they could handle such Encounters on their own in relative safety while he dealt with the burrower, recalling Lucifer and summoning Raphael to help handle them! While not the most optimal choice if the Pokémon turned out to be a Rock or Steel type, he hadn't done nearly anything of note with his beloved first child in a good long while and their coverage should safeguard them against most Types. At least, so he hopes!

Orders: Ventus will go after the Unusual Durant with Raphael, and leave the others to their own devices, feeling they could handle whatever challenges stood in their way! Not going to attack it straight up, though, as I want to try and befriend it a little for Valder's shake, since he's getting it later and I don't want to leave him with an overly Disobedient ant if I can help it! Let's see if we can't make it a cuddle bug or not!

The Spinda look like they're about to converge upon Shiva and Valder - who knows what they intend.

Shiva was just about to summon her famliar Gothitelle for gifting these Spinda a full round of Flatter for their 'performance' of falling from the ceiling, when Valder suprisingly came up and especially Theo seemed rather annoyed by these pandas, startling her almost just as bad as when the Spinda cam dropping down! It came that swiftly that she didn't knew what to do at first, she only found her mind back when these Spinda seemed to came closer....seemed to converge upon them? Whatever they were up to, Shiva felt a sudden urge to bring these cute pandas away from Valder and his Pawniard! Nothing personal, Valder.

In an intutive attempt to catch these Spinda's attention that were not attacked, Shiva summoned Azumarill, Lilith and called Furret that was still outside his Ball to her side, and almost screamed to them all in a worried tone: "Everyone of you, DO HELP ME BRINGING THESE SPINDA INTO SAFETY, away from the fight! SPINDAS - I won't do anything to you, just...come!" With a waving and sweeping arm gesture that looked way too dramatic, Shiva attempted to desperately lead the remaining horde of Spinda - or at least a batch of them that is willing to trust her - away from Valder and Theo.

-----------------
Mechanics:
Can't prevent Valder from fighting a Spinda, and I don't want to as it'd be mean and it's already too late! But I guess I can attempt to soft-save a few by leading them away from the fight to deal with them alone. If they allow that is, depends on what their up to.

Sounds like an Allure check to me.

(5)(6)(2)(1)(2)(6)(4)(2)(2) - 4 successes for Shiva + Azumarill
(6)(5)(1)(2)(3)(4)(3)(3)(4) - 4 successes for Lilith + Furret

= 8 Spinda that go chasing after Shiva, away from Valder's fight. Of course, being Spinda, they are teetering everywhere, so sometimes the Spinda from your cluster will stagger over and join Valder's cluster, just as his move over to yours. But on average, you have 8, and the farther away you get the less mixing there is.

Luck: (5) - there's none with that exact heart shape from legends, but you do spy a Spinda with a sideways heart on one shoulder.

The two groups of Spinda try to converge tightly around you (and Valder, too), and a few attacks are thrown your way as well!

Eeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkk! It was delightful and relieving for Shiva that a some of the Spinda instinctively followed her, maybe they have noticed that she and her Pokemon companions mean no harm to them, but she herself will need a little to calm down again from the suddeness and the startle.

Only at a different side of the caverns they all were currently at she felt 'safe' enough to stop, lean against a particularly big stalagmite and actually catch up on breath. Hah... At what point have things take such a turn?!?

Having done so for a little in concentration, she was soft-startled AGAIN, twice even - once because of one of the Spinda did feature a heart-shaped spot - on the wrong place of its body though, damnit, the legendary one has such a spot on its forehead! - and instantly and mercilessy once again upon realizing that these Spinda approached her even more. What's worse, they seemed willing/were about to attack! Not so cute anymore, but not enough to berave Shiva of her her desire to get one of these pandas for herself, at best that semi-legendary one here.

She shivered a little though as they came closer and closer, way beyond her comfort zone which's border they ignored like if it was nothing, and the best Shiva could do right now was tightly wrapping her arms around Azumarill in a hug due to the upcoming....fear within her, all while not averting her gaze ONCE from 'her' horde of Spinda. The best she was able to think out in this situation was attempting to use their weakness against themselves - and confuse them ALL! "Liliiiiiiiiiiiiith", she almost heartbreakingly adressed her mighty Psychic Type, "please give them all a Flatter, compliment them for following us, confuse them aaaaall!"

Furret beside her was asked to leap a few steps away from her with a hand gesture, he couldn't know what Master wanted until she'd actually speak it out, but he probably would follow her plea anyway. "Furret, some of these Spinda won't care of the flattery our companion will give them. Please, catch their attention with a Follow Meeee, lead them away from me if possible!"

If Accuracy Rolls are needed, Gothy's Flatter has 3 Dext + 2 Fight/Contest + 2 Allure - 2 Actions as with a maximum of 8 Spinda and one Flatter targeting 5 of them, two Actions are needed, making the first Flatter consist of 5 and the second of 4 d6.
Furret's Follow Me has a Priority of 5, and consists of 3 Dext + 2 Fight/Contest + 2 Perform = 7d6.

-----------------
Mechanics:
Here we'll attempt to seperate these with Tangled Feet Ability from these with Own Tempo - Furret is asked to catch the attention of these with the latter ability by a timed Follow Me in order to lure them away. I'll move on from there, but since things has become dire I guess Shiva would simply catch one Spinda for herself (what ability does the one with the heat-shaped spot turn out to have?) and then faint the remaining ones due to them pestering her, screwing my original plan. That'd be a cool scene, and with 2 Pokemon from side and Dizzy's help even possible. I guess since this Encounter's mandatory, that's what should be - needs to be - done to move on?

When everything was happening, Heart was following a bit with Koa and Patrat out of his pokeballs. Patrat look a bit nervous but Heart give the little one confident smile. "Dont worry Patrat. Its just two Gligars. We should be worry if would be Gligcors. Little Koa here already fough two Gliscors and even did not flinch. We be just fine." With confidence restore Heart than aproach the couple of Gligars. "Heya Gliscors! Good night/day. Want to battle?"

Mechanic: Engage in the pokemon battle against the couple of Gligars. Lets see what kinda of item they are holding. Ready to begin the initials @Iron!
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

A mandatory encounter needs to be "completed" in some way - faint 'em, run away, trap 'em, catch 'em, talk 'em down, hide, whatever. Weak Pokemon like these usually run away at 1hp, too.

Tropius: (3) = 8
Furret: (2) + 5 = 7
Spinda Group with Ability B: (4) + 3 = 7
Gothitelle: (1) + 5 = 6
Spinda Group with Ability A: (1) + 2 Dex + 1 Survival = 4

Theo: (5) + 7 = 12
Mamo: (2) + 7 = 9
Dizzy: (1) = 8
Spinda Group C: (1) + 3 = 4
Spinda Group D: (1) = 4
