[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
Fine, I'll let you register Carbink to a Ball then IF we come to a point where it can be safely caught. I like this Pokemon and if it ends up being caught, I'd rather not have it stored in Bill's PC for seldom uses, we might have more of it if trading it.

Humm, bringing Cottonee to greet that Carbink and attempt making friends with it is no option? K, then I'm having an important question, Iron: If I'll have Azumarill use Water Sport, will be be able to dampen the area enough to prevent these Geodude from exploding? By summoning the blue mouse and having her use a move I believe I'll inevitably start a battle, but NO WAY I want to do so while these Geodude are capable of dealing lethal damage to Nathan and me + Pokemon.

Possible, but that'll certainly cost everyone but Nathan and me a second Encounter Slot. Good idea though, but a rather risky one.

A nice name for that steely ant. That's an option as well, but it'll definitely take a while (at worst, a full day??) and that doesn't count as 'dealing' with the Mandatory Encounter, and if we're unlucky and meet these Geodude while following this dug tunnel... Ugh. *cold shivers*

No, you don't think that would work.

Retreating and going around would count as dealing with them (you'll have to pass Dex rolls to escape), but would definitely take a long time.

Oh, and FYI, Self-destruct is only lethal if you're right on top of the source of the damage.

Its no riskier than seeing if either Geodude know Self Destruct or Explosion, the later of which will certainly have a GREAT shot of killing EVERYTHING in the immediate vicinity, along with the aforementioned threats of cave fire/tunnel collapse. Even the former S-D is terribad as well too, thought not immediately Lethal.

Simple solution to them trying to follow us is dig a ways in, then collapse the entrance entrance to Turiel's tunnel. That'll keep them out. or at least delay them long enough! Either that, or have the spread attacks lag behind the forward thrust with Turiel, and have them start spamming attacks at them if they dare tresspass!

Geodude can learn Explosion as well though, and that scares me most of this Encounter.

If Water Sport doesn't work, then I'm all down to retreat and leave Carbink and its ilk alone to follow Windos's suggestion and dug and follow a tunnel to avoid them. However, that means you/we cannot catch that Carbink @Dragonstrike, but I'd rather not risk massive damage or at worst a cave-in because of a rare Pokemon. What are your thoughts, or are you having other suggestions for what to do?

I have a battle plan (if we battle them), Phantom.  Nathan has two pokemon that know Hypnosis (Ralts and Lunatone Ditto).  Flinch the third Geodude, and we can maybe put all 3 of them to sleep before they even have a chance to go boom.

Semi-risky?  Yes.  But it's better than nothing.

Good plan, but if even one of them end up moving before a sleep setter you two charas have a bad chance of getting BOOMed on. Running away, meanwhile, isn't nearly as risky, and with Turiel and Ditto transformed into her digging a way around should be not very time consuming. Up to you and Phantom how to handle this, though.

You think so? If a battle is started, it'll be done SOLELY at your risk, but if you're really confident about your battle plan, Shiva won't leave you fighting alone. I don't want to hear any 'maybes' in that battle plan however, as I'd rather not take any unnecessary risk...

The risky part of running away is that if you fail, the enemy gets to hit you without repercussions. But when you're fighting a bunch of rocks and you have a horse, your chances are pretty good.

Could I also have Furret using Follow Me to avert our foe's attention from us and raise our chances for a sucessful escape a little more, or would that be too risky for Furret himself?
