I'll lurk and read through it with interest while embracing the fact that in between all these tragic backstories, Shiva can balance things by bringing some needed calmness and normalicity into it (bar Nidoking Encounter, possibly).

But while for three of us this relationship is plaqued with pain or tragedy (Either died which eventually ruined the whole family, lost and out there somewhere, or being forced to train in order to be strong), Shiva seems to be the only one who can really say that she has grown up with a loving father figure that she can look up to.
*ahem*
Nathan grew up with that kind of father figure too, it's just the disappearance kinda left a void because it was so sudden with no explanation. It's because Nathan looked up to Marco Warren so much that his disappearance hurt so much (hence the heavy depression for 2 years). When they finally meet again, you can bet it's going to be a happy, happy day. Sure, Marco's missed almost all of Nathan's teenage years, but that's about it.
Fun fact: I kinda decided to throw that bit of backstory in to partially play on the 'lack of a father figure on-screen' trend in most of the pokemon games (and other pokemon mediums) for the main characters.

That's what I meant/was hinting on - the tragic part that Shiva lacks, so no harm meant there. K?
'Heavy despression' is a harsh word and should be used with care, it can quickly become deadly or cause massive wounds, visible an invisble.

I know. But Nathan's past that for the most part since he first met Ralts. He still has a few scars from it (emotionally, not physically), but they'll heal eventually. Some of them already have, in fact.

That's good and pleasant to hear/read.
I'd rather not share how hard it was and is to cope with episodes that can still hit me. #awareness?

Nathan doesn't talk about it for a reason. No need to go back there.
I was actually rather depressed irl at one point, too. I don't talk about that either because I'd rather not get on that topic. It's serious business, depression. That's why I made Nathan's a part of his backstory rather than a current issue.

What's rather funny is that my character Ven HAD not backstory, but over time and due to in retrospect rather rash decisions (Hello Deyo Flowers Hatred) I cobbled mine together from wholecloth, so Ven having no family anymore (Well, Deliah is 'alive', for a given definition of the word, and Rachiel may or may not be alive) was something that came completely unexpected to me too. Strange how things just spiraled out and transformed for not only our character, but ALL of ours too...

Hey Iron, do we have to deal with Those Guardian Weavile first before doing anything else, or are they just this Snowy Root Biome's mandatory Encounter from a list you haven't posted yet? I ask because I don't want to make a post yet, only to have it made obscelete instantly mid way through.

And thats the last piece of his story. At least for now. There is another one, who happens after such events. But its not the time or place to tell. Lets just say...Heart have more regret than the death of family. A deep one. But it is not the time to tell. Maybe...in the future.
Well? Any thoughs guys? Too long the story or to much tireful the story posts? What to hear opinions.
