Ventus returns the salute, looking Captain Bridge with determination in his eyes as he did so, as he was resolute to help the soul of the venerable man out!

"Yes sir, Captain Bridge. Me, my brother Lucifer, and my sister Malphena are prepared and at your disposal for this task, and we shall all do our utmost to quash those Sableyes' fiendish designs! Isn't that right?"

He looks towards both his Pokémon as he finishes replying, gauging their reaction. Hopefully they are fully on board with this, or otherwise he has a lot of making up to do in the near future....

Shiva too salutes back, very pleased by the idea of helping to free the ghost of Captain Bridge from the pestering Sableye! Azumarill chirpes and Yena howls, guess there will be a battle at last, even if not against the Ghost itself. 




Yena is still at +1 Strength by the Howl, I guess, neither Azumarill nor Dizzy hold any buffs, Future Sight and Razor Wind are both pointless against a Sableye. I'd ask how justified it is to crunch one of the Sableye to death to securely deal with them, if Ralts is right there however, it's probably not that much of a good idea. But maybe I can have Shiva take one of the fainted Sableye with her so that Yena can devour it later, away from the others???

That elicits an...interesting reaction from Nathan.

He gulps, tries to swallow his fear...

Calam is already prepared.  He'll show these Sableye what for when they approach! (is there time for him to use Swords Dance before the battle begins?)

Nathan's still mounted on Swiftfire, so he's not going to send her into this battle.  He's not using Ralts either.  Instead, he's going to send out Yule to assist! (and similarly, is there time for Yule to use Growth before battle?)

He has no questions of his own for Bridge at the moment, either.

Guess that means Lucifer is whipping up another Tailwind for himself, his sister, and as many of the ghost soldiers as he can, while Malphena gets to Nasty Ploting the most ideal way to take ALL those second rate gem munching Ghost types out!

Just anyone commits to attacking the Sableye, though, Ventus perks up as he remembers something important and turns his head to regard Shiva with a nervous/inquisitive expression as he hesitated for a moment before asking:

"Umm....dear, do you still have that Cleanse Tag you made on your person? Perhaps having that out would help repel these Sableye, or at least diminish their numbers for us to more easily dispatch them..."

Of course, having it out would likely mean his screaming banshee would be put in extreme distress/discomfort, and he doesn't know if it would have an effect on Captain Bridge and his brigade, but if its an option that could make the upcoming battle less hazardous for the still living.....

"Oh! Of course I'm still having that Cleanse Tag, Ven!~" A bit of rummaging later, and pulls the wooden Cleanse Tag she made herself from an inner pocket of backpack. However, before she'll putting into into the right side pocket of her Ranger's Cloak to be under its effect, she throws a questioning glance over to Captain Bridge. "Captain! I'm, well, indeed owning a Cleanse Tag - but I'm not sure whether it 'works' against ghosts like you, it's more created by me to protect me from actualy Ghost TYPES like these Sableye. If it makes you feel uneasy, please say so, and I'll put it away."

"Malphena... I'm sorry! Please don't take it personally. But...show that you can battle even if under distress, I bet you can!"

A Swords Dance and a Growth for Calam and Yule respectively it is, then! That'll put 'em at +2 and +1 Strength respectively.

Hmmm...well, that probably means they can't be caught either, then...

Well then...time for some battle music!

The soldiers intermix with the party. Nathan finds himself back-to-back with Captain Bridge. Ventus is beside Private Bridge, and Shiva and Heart flank the third soldier. They draw their swords.

The Sableye are moving in, some crawling on all fours, some clutching and nibbling gems, some leaning forward and twitching erratically.

They are focused on the soldiers, and willing to phase right through you to get at them!
