Interested to see how you all shall handle this!

I have a few questions for you, mate.

1. Can Ventus recall Malphena now that she's KOed, or is she stuck until those last few Undead Sableye are properly exorcised?
You can recall her, due to the way I described Mean Look working this battle. A character who was trying to steal your Pokemon could Block you from recalling a fainted Pokemon though.

Quote:3. Why wasn't the Potion applied to Malphena when she first brought to 4/8 HP?
Just because I remembered kinda late you'd wanted it. It didn't make a difference so I left it where it was after rolling dummy dice for Icy Wind.

Quote:4. Did you factor in the Defense Boost Evolite gave Malphena? If not, that could potentially save her some damage/Lethal Damage.
Forgot that! We'll say Malphena is at 0HP with no lethal damage then, just for easy math.

Quote:5. Can Ven ask for any weapons from the Ghost Brigade that would work on them so he could wade in himself to get some form of vengeance?
He can ask! It may depend on the circumstances.

Quote:7. How well would exocisim prayers and incense work on them, in conjuction with Shiva's Cleanse Tag?

Probably not very well. It didn't work on Chuckles' Pokemon whatsoever. But these Sableye are a little more than mere Pokemon, so Ventus isn't sure.

If it helps your post, we can still go with the narrative that the Sableye still scratched away at Malphena after KOing her, but with the Eviolite and Ventus' training she didn't take any further damage. The Sableye are willing to kill, but it's not their primary motivator.

It actually does, so I'll be sure to incorporate that tidbit! Ven's still going to be magnificiantly pissed at them, though, but since Nathan's going to turn them into flambe and they didn't actually Lehtally damage her.....he'll let them get revenge for them. The rest, though......well, I better get started writing!

I just ran through the post again factoring in Malphena having 6 Defense and removing the rightmost dice.

She just barely wouldn't have fainted by the time she took that Lethal damage.  She would have had 1 HP left after that 'lethal' blow.  But if we're going to say she fainted with no Lethal damage anyways and the Sableye kept scratching at her, that's cool too, I guess.  Would mean I would only have to edit my post slightly.

EDIT: Which I did. Though I guess Malphena would have probably fainted by the start of the next round anyways, so I guess going with her being fainted and scratched at is still rather appropriate given the situation

I'm rather liking this whole Encounter! It neatly started with keeping hidden what was actually ambushing us all there in the icy tunnel leaving us to prepare for anything imaginable, brought up a character that was mentioned a few times already but I'd never believe to actually meet, then developed into qualitative roleplaying that awoke an interesting train of thought within Ventus + brought me further insight into the mystery of the Fern (well, not directly, but now I know that if I want to find out more, I have to do it all by myself while hoping that things fall into place eventually), before it turned into an intense heroic battle against unusual foes with unusual allies.

It displays that you have experience as a Gamemaster!~ ( ÒωÓ)و☆

Though I guess both me and Shiva have to learn to be a little more reckless now that she has already grown more confident about her skills and simply USE lethal force on Crunch and future-Hurricane when it feels not out-of-place to do so, instead of searching for excuses and fearing nasty consequences. ._.

Maybe you'll find how Nathan is going to react to the aftermath of all this interesting.  Maybe.

Right, and the Sableye's strategies generally might have been different if the dice fell differently. The Sableye really want that Misdreavus down - sort of a rivalry of their own.
