As the ice melts around Swiftfire's feet, one translucent white chunk remains unaffected. It's enough to catch Nathan's eye. Further experiments show even direct contact with flame won't melt this ice! Never!

Lol.  Exactly what I expected to see.  A Never-Melt Ice!  This'll go great with either Pulse or Forthrights' Ice attacks!

Nathan is a little worried about Heart getting separated from the rest of the group, but he thinks it should be okay...he's got a lot of strong attackers, so he should be fine if something is assaulting him on the other side...

Brrrrr....it's a good thing he's wearing those Warm Gloves he got ages ago...Nathan doesn't think he'd be able to properly hold this item if he wasn't...

It turned out to indeed be a precious Bergmite, the very vivid chunk of a glacier! Much to Shiva's joy, it wasn't even that wary as she believed these creatures to be. Nope, this exemplar here was anythingelse than wary or shy - it was CURIOUS!

She could only chuckle over this in wonder, and didn't intercept as it was examinating and wondering what the heck a backpack was. Huh, it can be opened and it's filled with STUFF, how the not-Jynx demonstrated. It can even store Pokemon Food, Berries, and from the looks of it - that was a tasty-looking Nanab Berry this creature offered to it.

"I'm not a Pokemon, you, waaaay up from the surface I come." Shiva points upwards to the celing of the cave. "Up there, there's an open sky, clouds and lots of fresh air. Creatures like me are called 'humans', and we roam up there, peacefully among all kinds of Pokemon. We befriend and rely on them, in return for their help we provide them our care and love. I've never seen your kind in real either. But do tell me, are you alone? Doesn't your species usually live in herds?"

If Shiva takes a step back - does it follow her/remain interested?

If Ventus is telling the truth about his promise, the fish disappears again, only to resurface with a tinkle of ice at Ventus' feet.
Somehow, despite never having seen a human probably, Relicanth understands your words. (Ventus has experienced this on occasion before in his research, but it's still pretty amazing when it happens). 

That mouth is working overtime, leading you to believe it may be the fish's primary means of sensation. You can see it has no teeth at all. The lake is dark aside from the light of Swiftfire and other lights you have brought with you.

Where the ice breaks, you get a whiff of saltwater.

Indeed the researcher did honor his promise, for when the Relicath emerge only inches away from his feet (forcing him to take a couple of steps back out of caution), he smiles before reaching into his satchel, pulled out 1/3 of a ration bar, and couched down to feed it to them in small chucks (once he noticed it didn't have any teeth). While doing this he took the opportunity to examine the relic of a fish, carefully mentally noting and cataloging the various traits of this particular specimen and also taking note of the unmistakable scent of saltwater.

'Hmm......based on the evidence, this Relicath could either be a elderly individual of its species with its partial blindness and lack of teeth, or could be a subspecies of its breed that has adapted to living in the cool, dark waters of this underground lake, where sight and dentiatia are not as necessary for survival. There also the fact that the lake is filled with saltwater, rather than being an untapped reservoir of ground as would be expected this far down. Intriguing......'

After finishing his observations and feeding the last of the ration bar to the Relicath, he gave them another smile while carefully enunciating his words so they carried a happy/positive tone and said: "My thanks for your time, Relicath. I've learned quite a lot in my examinations, and you got a free meal, so I'd say we have both come off richer from our meeting! Now, before I let you go, I have a few questions for you - and don't worry, I'll understand your response:

- Have you lived in this lake all your life, or did you happen to immigrate to it?
- Is this lake entirely 'contained' - no exits or entrances save for the surface of it - or are their connections the feed into or out of it underwater?
- Is their any 'interesting' Items underneath the surface of the lake? If so, would you be willing to fetch one for me in exchange for more food?
- Lastly, would you be interested in leaving your home, and coming with me? Now, I'm not asking you to join me, only what your opinion is on such a decision, as I rather not offer take you away from the only home you've known if you much rather remain here."

Meanwhile, Lucifer and Raphael were keeping watch as their brother/father chattered away with the mineralized colicanth, with the former actually riding on top of the later in order to share body heat/Morning Suns between them to keep warm!

Relicanth looks relaxed and dreamy at the first question - you think that means he's always made his home here.
He carves a little tunnel in the ice with his rocky head to map an underwater exit tunnel in the northeast.
Relicanth dives down and comes up, disappointingly, with just some half-frozen mud caked on his nose. Then you spot golden flakes sparkling within it.
Relicanth shakes its head at the last question. It likes this lake, the only place it's ever known, and a place it's been perfectly adapted to for millions of years!

Whenever you mention something it doesn't know about, it bumps you again, Clouds ????? What is that??

Oh. She was glad to know that this smol Bergmite wasn't alone, that'd be even more against her books.

It was already extraordinary that this exemplar was acting so cute that it was physically warming her heart, definitely hasn't seen anythingelse than it's natural habitat before. "You want to hear more? Well, you can!~ But first, let us retreat from the lake and get to the surface, I'd rather not risk falling unfortunately onto the ice and break my hand or such. Fore food I'm having as weheeeeeell, you!"

Taking tiny steps and keeping her arms outstretched for balance, Shiva makes her way back to the surface where she can securely croach down to be closer to the Bergmite, placing the mysterious thing containing STUFF aka backpack beside her. From it, she takes a Great and a Steel Ball to put it into the pocket of her Ranger's Cloak, but she doesn't comment on this towards the icy Pokemon.

She takes a deep breath, when exhaling her breath is visible due to the cold temperatures. "So..... Clouds. Well, clouds roam uuuup there in the sky, they can be black, grey and various size. They are.... pretty much like THIS stuff!" From the mysterious backpack, she swiftly draws the fluff her Cottonee lately shed, there was no time to make a plushie out of it so far. It's placed in front of her so that Bergmite can examinate it as much as it wants.

"There's so much I could you about, about flowers that you can pick, trees you can climb on, and SOMETIMES, it's even raining tiny tiny ice crystals from the sky! Have you ever heard of such a thing???"

"Damn. Ventus gonna kill me if I not get you out Abbandon." Heart say thinking about what to do. He bring Koa out and give some quick orders. "Rose. Koa. You two need to break that ice who imprison Abbandon. Both of you use Ember and Dragon Rage. A normal flame and a draconic flame might be enough to break that thing. But do not use much power since we dont want to hurt Abbandon okay?" Heart then aproach too the fainted Cryogonal. "I dont have much pokeballs with me. 3 Pokeballs, 4 Great Balls and 3 Steel balls. And Ice-type its not exatcly my favourite type." Then Heart look the boulder. "After you break the ice of Abbadon, you two could use Rock Smash in this boulder? It might be help us to get out of here."
