[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Tandor Bug Horde Round 2

K... Only Sponee with Swarm Ability at 1hp and Sponaree with 4hp and Water Absorb are left.
Tropius is down to 1hp and suffers a Burn1, Azu is at 6/9hp while Dizzy is untouched.
You accidently missed to roll out the 1 CD to lower Dexterity for Bubble Beam, but it doesn't matter anyway as they're fainted already.
From the looks of it, the pre-evos already bear the respective Water/Fire/Electric Type, or do they? It'd be cool if they did!

It looked like the flourishing and cold RAAAGE Shiva felt over these pesky bugs has subconsciously intimidated them or something in that direction, as while they kept going mercilessly, not all of their moves hit its target in that eager. Maybe there were too many legs skittering all around that provided a hasted and charge-forward-recklessly feeling, or their swarm mindset have become overwhelming but backfired to a degree. Or it was Reshiram's and the constallation's generosity that has been granted to her despite being so deep down this mountain, maybe they've heard her silent desire to not end up as free food for a Horde of unknown bugs...

The WRATH within the fae woman decreased at the sight of most of the bugs swiftly being defeated thanks to Dizzy's help, he received an impressed and very appreciating look from her. That was what Shiva hoped to see, a real display of his skills and the harvesting of the fruit of the training by the Daycare Owners! With shock and an instant rekindle of the rage she looked over to Tropius however, who was clearly having a bad time with these bugs, ugh. His leafy wings were too heavy to hold them upright in all his pain. Swiftly, Shiva did the last resort action: Recalling him into his Pokeball, into safety. When the group meets again, she will cure his Burn with Azu's Water Sport and kindly ask for a Heal Pulse from Heart's Clawitzer. With curiosity Shiva watched as the smaller one of the blue bugs bounced as it fell onto the ground and from Tropius' neck - weird creatures.

That left Azumarill and Dizzy to take care of the remaining two. Both showed that they were determined to be the last ones standing in the end. "Alright, we're....luckily almost done! Well done, both of you, especially your Razor Wind was amazing, Dizzy! Please, help me defeating the bigger blue bug as it seems immune to Azu's water moves, either by using Pursuit or Sucker Punch - I'll take care of the smaller one. Azu, more bubbles, then more coldness please!"

--------------------------

Accuracy Roll Bubble Beam 1 on Sponee: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 4 Channel - 1 Pain - 2 Actions = 6d6
Damage Roll: 3 Strength + 3 Power of the move + 1 STAB = 7d6, but -1 autodamage if Sponee bears additional Water Type.
Additional notes: Only 1 dealt point of damage is needed to bring it down, still 1 CD to lower it's Dext by 1.

Once Sponee is defeated:
Accuracy Roll Ice Beam 2 on Sponaree: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 4 Channel - 1 Pain - 3 Actions = 5d6
Damage Roll: 3 Strength + 3 Power of the move, no STAB = 6d6, but -1 autodamage on it.
Additional notes: 1 CD to freeze solid.

Dizzy is asked to use neutral but STAB-Dark Type moves on Sponaree to wear it down successfully. Once ALL bugs are defeated, Shiva will take photos of every single of the six bugs to later ask Nathan for the names/what he knows about them, which ones she'll end up catching depends on what GM tells me about the value and Typing of them.

You're left with a mostly-healthy Haunter and a nearly fainted Pineco.

Valder will attempt to catch Pineco with a Pokeball. He'll use a second one if needed but no more than that, in which case Haunter will finish it off.

Nathan starts sobbing in relief and fear both.  He ends up hugging Ditto as soon as the battle is over.

"...th-thank y-you...*sniffle*...Ditto...that would have been s-so much w-worse if you w-weren't here..."

He knows Ditto has very little reason to trust him right now and isn't very happy with him still...but he's genuinely thankful that Ditto potentially saved Swiftfire's life despite that...it's definitely proving that it's more than just the breeding machine that many trainers use the species almost exclusively for...(I'm very interested in seeing how Ditto reacts to this...)

Now then, medical attention for Swiftfire!  5 dice on that Stabilize check!  How long does it take to heal Lethal damage naturally if it's successfully treated?  This is a really relevant question right now, unfortunately...

Still need to figure out what to do with the bugs, but let's address these two things first.

In its current form, Ditto isn't acting distrustful at all! He pats Nathan on the shoulder quite humanly, like a hero doing his duty, citizen!

Stabilize: (1)(1)(1)(4)(6)

Nathan's medicinal attempts have a disastrous start, with hot blood initially gushing from the Slash wound. Finally he gets it under control, so it's not getting any worse.

Lethal damage can only be cured over time in a hospital setting. Stabilizing it just prevents it from getting worse.

That's incredibly reassuring.

...and definitely helps a ton when he almost screws up treating Swiftfire's Slash wounds and nearly has a panic attack.  Ditto's protective presence is about all that's keeping him calm enough to keep him from running down the tunnel himself in an effort to find Ralts ASAP.

...at least it's not getting worse...he doesn't have enough supplies to spare on treating this properly, though...

...that's done, though...now to deal with that...other issue.

The bugs.

Specifically, that Leavanny.

...it would be so...easy to finish it off in retaliation...

...

...he can't help but think back to his conversation with Valder, though...

...

...and looking at Ditto, who's calmed down since the immediate threat has been dealt with...

...

...no, he won't kill Leavanny.

...that leaves the matter of Swadloon...he could...catch it...try to get it away from that vicious slasher that seems to have been a bad influence on it...

...

"...Ditto...do you think they were doing this of their own accord? Or is this...mad, frenzied rush...making them act funny?  I...need a second opinion...and you probably have a better idea of what's going on than I do..."

Ditto points to his nose, then to Leavanny/Swadloon. He bares his canines.

HAH! All pesky Bug Types defeated!~ Shiva and her Pokemon companions may just have pretended to be a vermin examinator and a freshman in that job on top of that AND she felt overwhelmed and angry with them - but in the end, everything went well and the've done a decent job on the task. Only as she let her gaze wander over the horde of fainted bugs she allowed herself to relax again, crossing her arms and giving them a 'DON'T MESS WITH ME AGAIN!!!'-glare.

Then, she made mentioned pictures with cell of every species, forcing herself to step closer to them as she may want to and ignore the smell of formic acid, ugh. Her gaze remained a tad bit longer on these yellow exemplars, maybe due to that fainting glowing from their tail - hey, actually they're looking rather cute. She didn't dare to touch them however. Eeeeek, she even shied away from it instantly as the bigger one twitched one of its spiderlike legs.

With a *cough*, she catches Azu's and Dizzy's attention, telling them in a firm voice to please stay here for short and guard the fainted bugs, she's coming back in short. "I'll just go and get Ventus. Some of these bugs may be worthy to bring to the surface, these yellow ones I might eve keep for myself, but I don't want to use all of my Balls on them. I'm counting on you!" With that, she leaped off-screen with a waving cloak and scarf.

-------------------
Mechanics:
Shiva's going to catch Harylect, female Tricwe, Sponaree and Firoke, in that order and only using one Pokeball (Seal Strength 2) on each one first. To decrease their Will even more, she'll go and get Ven first, drag him to the horde of bugs and ask him to Glare and Poison them with Apsis.
Tail Glow provides lots of light which will be useful on the further quest and makes Harylect/Tricwe worth keeping, but what happens with them all in the end depends on their moves and disobediance score.

He shakes his head and gestures dramatically at his nose again. Then he gestures further down the tunnel in the direction Heart went.
