[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(05-28-2018, 11:38 AM)PhantomUnderYourDesk Wrote: Humm... At first, Shiva is rather sceptical and just frowns massively while starring (non-intimidatingly) down at that Nuzleaf. It DOES seem to be one of these nasty ones that trapped her on the upper level of Mount Sentry and then trapped Heart in a lower level, but suprisingly she does not pick up anything ill from this particular one. Lucky one, it made the right decision.

She decides to give it a chance. That Gracidea petal is what she desires... But she's having so many questions to this Nuzleaf, and this might be a unique opportunity.

A slight hand gesture and Yena goes back to being a good boy, he retreats into the darkness. Carefully and not yet fully convinced, she knees down to be more on eye level with that Nuzleaf, and simply looks at it for a little before she carefully accepts the chunk of grass from its hands, cuts off the roots,  and packs it AND the knife away for now. More starring before Shiva speaks up to it, all calmy but cautionous between the lines. "Thanks for the offer... You know, I've met and heard of others of your kind that are way less friendly. WAY. I won't attack you unless you'll give me reason to, alright? No, I....only wish to talk. About things. Up for it?"

Nuzleaf shrugs. She doesn't go anywhere.

It goes for the birdseed! It bends its face down and just eats it directly off the ground, a few pecks at a time. It's still eyeing Nathan nervously. And it seems even more distrustful of Calam.

Another good decision. Nuzleaf's shrug was met with an agreeing nod that probably meant something along the lines 'I'll be friendly to you, so please be friendly to me in return', before she patted the grass beside her, asking the dark Grass Type to take a seat beside her.

Eventually, she even draws one of the pirsif berry cookies she usually keeps and feed to her Pokemon as a snack, and offers it to the Nuzleaf. Without a smile, however. "Here, eat. My Grass and Fairy Types love these... Food from me in return for information from you, alright?"

For a while, Shiva does not say a word. Only the munching sounds of Nuzleaf are heard (if it accepts the cookie) and something that sounded like someone was digging for metal somewhere not too nearby while she stares at something invisible in the darkness. WATCHES the darkness maybe, enjoys the tranquility of this place. Silently, she then reaches out to pluck a blade of the Tall Grass, fingers around a little, then uses Grass Whistle.

"Now it's your turn."

Mechanics:
Breaking the ice before it'll be a short Q&A with Nuzleaf.
Goal: Obtain the Gracidea Petal.
Obstacle: Making Nuzleaf willing to part with it on its own.

Nuzleaf doesn't seat herself, but she grabs a bit of Long Grass and is easily/naturally able to produce a squealing whistle from it. She looks around to make sure she didn't attract any attention and giggles.

She eats half a cookie but she doesn't seem to like it much.

Humm. She doesn't seem to trust Shiva either. Well, she doesn't mind it as long as the Nuzleaf stays - IF it makes an attempt to escape or try something funny, Yena will grab it with his teeth. Just 'grab' and prevent it from fleeing, not dealing any damage. That's not the intention, Shiva does not desire to start a battle.

Somewhere in the darkness, the black and grey canine and a young white feline probably perked up from the sound of whistling, maybe even Gothitelle. Shiva herself joins in Nuzleaf's giggle, visibly amused. "Haha, naturally you're better in this. Your species is famous for this quirk - lost people, actually most people, fear this sound you just made, but I'm somehow enjoying. I don't really know why." She shrugs.

"Now... Please tell me a little. Do not worry, I can understand you to some degree (Does understanding more complex answers from Nuzleaf need a roll? A simple 'yes' or 'no' won't bring Shiva much, but it's totally up to Nuzleaf how she answers). I've seen or heard of several Nuzleaf within this place as me and the group traveled this mountain. Two of you teamed up with a Druddigon, some others of you trapped one of us a few days ago, you seem less shy about taking 'bad' actions against people the Nuzleaf I know. I've been wondering why? Are you protecting something, have humans done something to you to reason such a behaviour against them? Are we intruders, have you and your clan claimed Mount Sentry instead of a forest as your territory?"

If cookies aren't much to her taste, maybe a few dried berries and nuts are? A bit of both is scattered for Nuzleaf to pick up, in total it's maybe a half hand.

She eats a few nuts and berries.

The Nuzleaf waves her hand airily, to say her clans have certainly suffered at the hands of humans before. Who hasn't? She has indeed claimed Mt. Sentry as her territory. She indicates her longer leaf, the sign of a female Nuzleaf, and portrays through signs that the male Nuzleaf follow the commands of a sort of clan matriarch, one for each group. She touches the Gracidea petal - apparently it has something to do with this command structure.

'Who hasn't'... Hearing this caused Shiva to hang her head a little and finger another blade of grass nervously. Not because of anything that had to do with her, no, she personally didn't feel like she has ever made a Pokemon suffer. It only shows her once more that it may not be the most unreasonable sentiment to seperate Pokemon and human from each other.

She perks up and goes back to facing Nuzleaf as she indicates her longer leaf. Ah... Probably because of the darkness Shiva didn't realize that this Nuzleaf's leaf is longer until now. She nods in understanding - and starts to ponder. She's undisclosed whether it's a good or a bad idea to mention that she's having some of of these pink petals at her person... "I see. So you're some sort of the alpha female for the others... That's pretty cool. Leading is never an easy task, all the responsibility you're having. But seeing how the group or the clan functions is a pleasant reward on its own. Some people - and for sure Pokemon too - naturally make good leaders, others don't and suit better in a following role. To each their own..."

"Ah. I was....just about to ask what this pink petal actually means to you...... I've never seen it on a Nuzleaf before. But that's probably why they interest me.... They're having an emotional and personal value to me." ... "Please say, do these petals regrow, and are you willing to part with it? N-now, hold on. Don't decline right away. Of course it wouldn't be a one-sided parting. How about...a trade? I'm having something that looks and feels equal to the pink petal, but isn't a petal. Now?"

Silence. Shiva spoke it out - that was the hardest part. Now, she could only hope. Beraving the matriarch of her status symbol by force, Shiva doesn't feel well with this thought. It's either diplomacy, or she'd miss the chance for the 5th of six petals here.

...well, definitely acting like a bird, then.  It doesn't look like a bird, though...

Nathan looks at Calam, then back at the mystery 'mon.  "Are you worried about him because he's a Dark type feline?  I can recall him to his pokeball if it'd make you more comfortable.  He needs to get a little rest anyways.  I have some more birdseed if ya want some more, too.  I don't have any problems with sharing it with you. I'm glad to see you're enjoying it."  Nathan is still keeping a respectable distance since the 'mon still seems a little shy.

By the way, what does the pokemon think of Kirlia?  Same nervousness?

She shows how the Gracidea is not really a part of her body, as such. She's still listening, but it doesn't look like she's going to give up her petal for just anything. Not when you want it so badly...
