[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

We only got one more riddle that needs to be solved, but if we don't end up doing it.......I guess we just turn back and find some way to block access to the entrance into Antheneum? Our main mission was more or less to prevent it from falling into Scimitar hands, which doesn't necessarily require entering it.

I want to enter it though, now that we're in its courtyard...

I would also like to say that if any character could help Ventus not stagger about/recover enough to go walking around without staggering, that would be lovely. Unlike with Seika, he's down to his last dregs of Will and is basically puppetting himself about on the pure hardheaded desire not to succumb to his weakness even briefly, so without any form of support he's going to be hard pressed to do anything than just function at minimal capacity.

Shiva has been there for you in times of need always, so she can and will be there for you in this case as well - that's a lovely opportunity to express that they're sharing a bond despite thinking and feeling practically opposite of Atheneum. That, and things have been somewhat colder between them along the quest, so here's a chance to warm things up again!~ 

I guess I can do that and approach the final statue simultaneously?

That is a terrific idea, dear! He'd probably cringe internally a bit at appearing so feeble to his love, but he'd be greatly cheered and comforted by the fact she's still there for him despite their differences in opinion and cares for him just as much as always! Additionally, anything to distract him from his recent Trail and him feeling 'trapped' in Antheneum/just being in the local is a net positive for his overall mood!

Also, he just spent 3 Will points in the last fight, so I'm rather surprised Iron didn't have him outright collapse or suffering a fainting spell automatically. Just curious about that, is all.

Oh, and I'm not trying to deny the opportunity of the group entering Antheneum or imply otherwise, Phantom! All I'm doing is simply stating its not a catastrophe if that happens, as we have other options available to us. Heck, I doubt Iron doesn't want us to go into the place and see all the cool stuff he's done/conjured, so maybe another reason will contrive itself into existence for us to gain access. If all else fails, letting the Scims open the way up (or try to) and then defeating the lot of them could do the trick, though it would be insanely risk plan I rather not risk if at all possible.

Man.......that battle with Darmanitan was lucky, unlucky, extremely brutal, yet still ended well for Ventus relatively speaking. Yikes......

That Darmanitan had what I like to call one of the 'sweet spots' of accuracy pools.  7, 9, 11, and 13 are the magic numbers where you can attempt 2/3/4/5 actions without risking running out of accuracy dice if Pain is the only factor reducing your pool.  Start throwing in Curse, Paralysis/Dex drops, and Accuracy drops though, and those thresholds are going to increase a ton.

Combine those accuracy pool thresholds with high Strength, and you'll start outputting huge amounts of damage.  Or you can have 'average' Strength and still do a lot of damage if you have strong enough attacks.




As far as the Will thing goes...if Ventus had spent 3 Will on ignoring Pain, he would have almost definitely fainted since Iron said that's more strenuous than simply adding a success to the accuracy roll.

I kinda curious too to enter the Atherium. I mean, imagined all the good stuff is inside, all the information, and even perhaps what kind of Pokemon never see before be inside. Also, I think I gonna raise Dex I guess right now. I have 30 XP now and have more moves to use it always a awesome thing

Short day today.

Just as small heads-up before I'll get to posting in Game Thread, if all goes well I'll be on trip to visit some falls in a forest tomorrow, but I should be home by late afternoon or evening (after my time), so it shouldn't cause much delay on progress. That, and I don't want to miss exploring Atheneum!

I've sent in an answer to the Final Riddle, so now we can only hope and wait (I'm having a good feeling though). Solving these was fun, and somehow a tad bit easier than I've expected it to be!~ More of such puzzles at some points during the further game would be appreciated, if it fits into the story!

...okay, now Shiva's also freaking Nathan out.  Not only did she laugh rather hysterically (twice!), she also ignored his question and ran past him in a beeline for the Gauntlet, completely contradicting what she said earlier...

Lolz. Shiva seems to be rather susceptible and react interestingly to such things like siren's calls, probably a downside of having such an open mind and being designed as a highly emotional person.

Definitely scaring, for multiple reasons.  And also worrying.

Ven right now consideres her an potential threat and enemy with how she's acting, given how out of character/MAD she's acting to him and his own paranoid worries/nasty flashback to how his mother and other FAES people acted around him. Doesn't help he's extremely tired too, so he's not able to moderate his own feelings nearly as well as he typically would. He's not going to attack her unless she tries to get close while acting like a loon and/or drag him closer to The Gauntlet, though, so just leave them alone and nothing bad will come of this freak out of his own by the time all is said and done.

Whoahw, lolz. That's hilarious, but I wouldn't have thought that it'd cause such an effect - I was just acting the way I thing Shiva would react to the Gauntlet begging to be touched now that the door's unlocked! Now we know we should never allow Shiva again to get close or come under the effect of any arcane force or something that's 'calling', haha.

Of course she'll leave you alone, there's no direct threat coming from her! I'm hoping that as soon as all is said and done (as you say) things will be okay anymore = in the means that he won't be afraid of her from now on or such? Because, for example, I still want them to share a dorm and bed when staying overnight in Pokemon Centers like they did before...
