[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(06-08-2018, 09:08 PM)Iron Wrote: Technical Machine Library
This is another shelf that is up to date and organized. Three uses per customer.
You may teach any move that has been a TM in any generation, but it has to be marked as a ? on their movelist in Pokerole. No exceptions. For Tandor pokes, it just has to be in their TM learned list.

So, I find this a little confusing.  May I teach ANY move that has been a tm to ANY pokemon? And I guess I don't understand what the "?" means either. Is it something I write additionally in the role sheet so that it can be remembered, or are there question marks in the rule book that I have been missing.

 'Scuse my stupidity.

Asking is not when wrong when being confused. So, eh, in short you take your Pokemon, look it up in the Pokedex of the Rulebook and realize that some moves are marked not with an XP-cost but with a '?', these are special moves that fall somehow out of the line - some are egg moves, some are TM moves, some are something completely different. Now you look up wicth Bulbapedia or a similar site which of these '?' moves of your Pokemon are moves that it can learn via a TM - 3 of such moves you can teach it in this case with the Library.

This is also a good opportunity to ask whether in this particular case of using the TM Library it remains true that the '?' moves is available for the whole evolutionline, Iron - for example, whether I could teach an Espurr (not Kyuu) Shock Wave although the move's solely on Meowstic's list and vice versa. Please tell me it DOES remain true, because otherwise I completely need to reconsider my choices...

I was thinking if I should take this opportunity to teach Mudkip the move Water pledge who have a pretty decent level of power for a Water Move and could work as a good support. And teach Infernape thunder Punch or Drain Punch. Thats a pretty awesome and strong move to hav

I believe Iron already confirmed that ? moves carry through the whole line provided the pokemon can learn the move in the games.  (Spirit was asking about Thunder Punch when Rose evolved iirc)

For example, every member of the Chimchar line can learn Thunder Punch and Fire Pledge, but only Infernape can learn Blast Burn.

The Pledges aren't TMs, and Iron has plans for them.  Drain Punch isn't listed in the book for the Chimchar line either.  Thunder/Fire Punch are fine, though

You could also teach Golett a bunch of Punches. Gustav Icy Wind. Viktor Drain Punch. Those are all valid.

Huh, since when's Water Pledge a TM-move? o.o

I know that. The thing is I'd like to teach my Pokemon... Ah, nope, not sharing as it'd be a spoiler. I'll ask discretly via a PM whether it's possible in this case or not.

In this case, based in the list of pokemon I am interested to teach move I want is:

Rose: Thunder Punch/Fire Punch
Trevenant: Drain Punch
Clawitizer: Ice Windy/Helping Hand
Golett: Fire Punch/Ice Punch/Thunder Punch
Hypno: Metronome

Thats the list. There a few pokemon I still wanted to teach some moves like Fraxure Night Slash but its not a tm. Thoughs people?

Iron Head and Aqua Tail are no TM-moves either ^^;
Helping Hand is something that Shiva could easily tutor if needed I guess, it's became a widespread and key move for her.
