Pyroar nods.

"Alright.  Let's make some space for her, then..."

Out comes Swiftfire again!  Nathan gives her another hug.  "Hey girl.  I'm currently spending some time with Pyroar here.  He's a little shy, but he says you can join us.  Mind staying still and letting Pyroar assess you for a moment?  He needs to get comfortable before we try some fun activities with him."

Pyroar sniffs, and makes a little head-jab at Swiftfire. The horse stays calm at Nathan's quick command, and Pyroar does not escalate. In fact, he shoots Nathan a small look of apology, or maybe that's just Nathan's imagination!

Swiftfire's nostrils are a bit flared, a sign of minor fear, but she knows she could take this joker out with extreme prejudice if necessary. Pyroar doesn't know that, and actually seems to be viewing Swiftfire as a weaker species than himself, a prey species. But he likes that she is Fire-type, and has a mane. They may be able to find some common ground, and for once Pyroar is not snapping at another Pokemon.

Nathan takes no offense to Pyroar's initial gesture towards Swiftfire.  Everything's going well so far, so there's no reason to be angry at him.

"There we go.  Yeah, that's a good start, Pyroar.  What would you say to holding a little game of tag between you and Swiftfire for a little bit?  She has some energy to burn, pun not intended (okay, maybe it IS intended from my point of view Tongue ), and she likes to run.  Think that might be fun?"

If so, Nathan will make sure to instruct Swiftfire to not run too fast, so as not to completely outdo Pyroar.  She's undoubtedly waaaaaay faster than Pyroar is, even before using Flame Charge.  If she were to run at full speed, there's no way this game of tag would be fun for either Fire type.

Empathy: (6)(4)(6)(3)(1) +1 = 4
(1)(1)(6)(1)(2)(5)(4) = 2

Pyroar will play tag. He's very cautious at first, worried Swiftfire will jab him, or worse - just keep running away and never return.

The big cat is soon having a blast sliding across the room, trying to make tight turns that paws just aren't well suited for. Almost forgets Nathan is even there.

That is very encouraging to see, and it definitely gets a smile out of Nathan.  And Swiftfire is presumably having a lot of fun as well.

Unfortunately, at the end of it all, Nathan can't stay the whole day.  Swiftfire gets some appreciative pats as thanks when the game of tag is over.

And Pyroar gets another hug from Nathan.  "Now that wasn't so bad, was it?  I have other things I need to do before the day is over, so I need to go now, but I'll pay you another visit soon, alright?  If I'm too busy to visit tomorrow, I'll do my best to be here the day after.  I'll bring Swiftfire back, too.  And another pokemon I'm close to besides Swiftfire and Gallade, if you'd care to meet them as well."

Progress!  Hooray!  Don't think Pyroar is ready for traveling/socializing with a larger number of pokemon quite yet, but we'll keep working on it!

----------------------

And that just leaves one more thing before Nathan's day is technically over: adopting the dim Beldum.  $500 spent on adopting it, and there we have it!  Nathan will have to fuse his two Beldum together soon as well.  Just need some stats for the little guy.

-----------------------

After the training and tutoring session, Nathan returns to the Center in Cress.  Whether Shiva is not far behind/ahead or making her own way back is up to Phantom, obviously.

What matters right now is that Terra's waiting for Nathan. They'll be holding whatever discussion they have in Nathan's room in the Center.  @Lord Windos  (As a heads up for everyone, we'll be addressing this via PM so we don't hold the game thread up.)

Well, that, and Nathan also has to check on Forthright.  She fainted for the first time today, and how she reacts to that is rather important, but she did an excellent job in the gym battle, and Nathan's very proud of her.  He shows her the badge they won, assures her that she did a spectacular job job...and of course, there's promises of treats as a reward/thank you.  Time for Terra to make good on his earlier promise and cough up some more marshmallows!  Hopefully all that helps Forthright feel better about the ordeal.

Nathan's had a busy enough day that the strange lurches aren't the first thing he's thinking about currently.  It's only a matter of time before he starts wondering again, though...

So yeah: ready for the next day!

Clear Body
Take Down
Surprise: -1 Str, -1 Insight, +1 Defense. This will vanish when he becomes a Metagross, and represents his diminished psychic potential and aim. He's also used to bashing into things.

Castform is doing OK, with the resilience of the very young. Marshmallows drive all previous thoughts out of her head.

It is now Day 66.

It's Raining. Looks like a lot of people are holed up in their houses with their friends. You see people hurrying past, holding board games or playing cards under their coats.

Unlike yesterday morn, Terra was up bright and early at the crack of dawn, far less reluctant to get out of bed as he was due to the pre-ordained Training Session he had with Lovely and the Kimono Girls. He quickly went through his morning workout routine with practiced ease, showered, grabbed a breakfast consisting a couple apples and bananas, before he exited the Center and carefully made his way to the secret training grounds of the dancers, following their directions with discretion while also keeping a his senses sharp for any unwanted tag alongs.

While he wasn't a paranoid man like his boss was, he wasn't stupid enough to discount the possibility that somebody at the Tea Ceremony would trail after him to spy on his aquatic serpent and the ladies' foxes, so he was going to be careful. Didn't want to end up accidently breaking his promise to the elegant ladies, nor force them to re-locate to a less ideal to train in private, so better safe than sorry.

Order: Morning Training Session with Lovely and the Kimono Girls! Don't really know what this entails, but Lovely will certainly do his best to match the prowess/skill of whatever the Eeveelution end up during the coordinated practice! Let his Competitive but tranquil nature shine through!

Also, kinda curious, but would Competitive actually give a bonus towards Training Rolls/XP ? This Pokémon IS trying to strive to outdo/match others and come out on top, or close to it anyway.
