"You look strong enough to handle this Riolu. He'll be glad to get out of the Shelter."

Indeed, upon being adopted, Riolu turns almost shy. Unlike with Heart, he doesn't kick you or threaten you at all. When you finally open the door to leave, and it's clear it's happening for real, he runs ahead in a frenzy of excitement! He starts running back and forth on the street until you catch up. He's so happy!

Terra could help but start fondly chuckling at the sheer exuberance and joy the young jackal displayed as they raced around the street without a care in the world. His eyes and gut told him this doggie was a wild one, utterly feckless and with an enthusiastically violent streak a mile wide - much less like his beloved lighting wolf, and more like his mischievous dragoness Genie. 


Considering the species was typically docile and composed (if choosy of who will they approach) from what he read, this Rilou's behavior caught him monetarily off guard, but despite he wasn't worried at all. As a matter of fact, he found himself greatly admiring it, smiling as he observed their antics, seemingly non-plussed about their massive Disobedience or relentless zeal. Why was that?

Simple: he had utter and adamant faith he could handle Rilou, direct his overly boisterous personality to better ends, and mold him into supurb, disciplined fighter. 

'It will take a lot of time, and a lots of hard effort.....but me and Rilou will become great partners, no matter what.'

Finishing his assessment, the rugged wanderer calmly walked over to meet up with the aural doggie, stopping just in front of them before he crouched down and offered a BIG hand of his for them to leap on (if they want to, that is). If the do get on his hand, he slowly gets back up, and hold them out a respectful distance from his own face, still gently and kindly smiling.

"Hello, Rilou. My name is Terra. Terra Sanaa Ismat. I am your new master, and we are partners now. Hm....your name will be Anubis, or Anubi. They are the god that guides of souls to the afterlife, and judges their hearts to be good or evil. One day, you will become just as powerful as they are. What do you say?"

Eyes watch her from the shadows. Wooden carvings everywhere cast dim little shadows of their own. Every cloud passing overhead makes the shadows dance and deepens the gloom inside the Gym. The crystal goblets and pitchers on a little table to one side do nothing to break up the grayness.

Another heavy wooden door opens, and out steps Chuckles. He's not laughing or even smiling - you've heard from Ventus how the name is a misnomer. He wears a long black cloak and a gray suit. He appears to sniff the air and make a decision.

"Lovely day for a battle, isn't it?" he asks drily. "You are a challenger. Very well. Do you know the rules of my gym? Are you ready to begin right away, or would you prefer to make an appointment?"

The further Shiva goes in the hallway, the closer she sticks to Raphael for soothed nerves and to Delphox for warmth + light, the time noble and ominous and scary Chuckles himself appears she has linked arms with her dearest magical fox.

She's obviously afraid, but does her very best to ban that feeling into the darkest corner of her being and cloak it in a veil of confidence and quiet WILLPOWER as she faces the ghostly Leader with a neutral expression. "It's raining", was all she says at first. ".....And I came from quite the distance to this city for the purpose to conquer my fears. Postponing this by making an appointment for the battle is no option..." *strengthening of posture and eager headshaking* "I don't wish to leave this mansion without facing the challenge now please."

Mustering Chuckles a little, she continues. "What are your conditions and rules for a battle then? Do you....accept Double Battles? I heard you do, and I took some time to find combinations of moves and Pokemon that'll hopefully ensure me leaving this Gym and city with a third Badge."

Delphox just stoicly watches this figure that seemed to unhinge his valued Master, not breaking contact between his own pure white eyes and this man's deep black ones once. He has his orders.

That big chandelier you mentioned is actually in this lobby, not in the battle arena. The battle arena does have four floating chandeliers, housing the battle items.

For example, I may send out Gastly and Haunter against your two little Pokemon, and when the first one faints, you may send out one more in an attempt to defeat me. 3 Pokemon, 2 at a time."

"As for items, you provide two items. I myself will have access to copies of those items. If you provide a Potion and a Super Potion, I will likewise be allowed to use a Potion and a Super Potion, and nothing more. Held items are fine, so long as they are not unfitting to a battle."

"Other than that, standard League rules apply. Are you sure you wish to challenge me? It's such a nice day outside..."

Geodude-A comes spinning out! (5) + plenty, going first.
As promised, Zamboni sends out his flapping Delibird, trying to look as harmless as possible! (6) +3 Dex + 0 Survival = 9

"We've seen that it uses Outrage, Iron Head, Zen Headbutt, Take Down, and Chip Away. There may be more. We're pretty sure it doesn't know Superpower, at least, or this steel wouldn't hold it."

"That's certainly a powerful moveset...but at least it's unlikely to know anything Lethal...something that big and powerful is also bound to be noticed by someone eventually if it's not taken care of soon...alright, I'll see if I can overpower it for ya.  How strong is this Machop, though, if I may ask?  I'm going to have to plan this carefully..."

"Hmmm...okay, so major statuses and pokeballs don't work, but how about crippling Rampardos's basic Attributes directly with moves like Low Sweep?  Do those still work as expected?  And I take it Rampardos isn't likely to be holding any items and is a standard pure Rock type? And how about those chains that are restricting its movement? Do they extend far enough to let Rampardos reach most of the room? (i.e. could a ranged attacker be out of range of Rampardos's contact moves, or can Rampardos reach them even if they try to keep their distance?)"

Heart bring his orders. "Okay Iron. As much you have a good advantage against Delibird, dont let you guard down. And remember what you have promised. Okay, lets! First of all, lets raise our defenses! Defense Curl! And we need to take down that Delibird in one strike! Use Rolltout 4x against that Delibird! Lets hit the roll!"
(I also raising my Fight Skill to next point using 24 XP. Now my total Fight Skill is 4)

Defense Curl Accuracy: Vitality (4) + Fight (4) + Brawl (3) - Actions (5) = 5d6
Effect: Increase user defense

Rollout Accuracy: Dex (4) + Fight (4) + Brawl (3) - Accuracy (1) - Actions (6/7/8/9) = 4d6/3d6/2d6/1d6
Damage: Power (1) + STR (3) + STAB (1) + Defense Curl (1) + Doube SE (2) = 5d6+2
Effect: Power +1 .Succesive Actions. Add 1 Dice of Damage of the last Rollout hit the user performs. If used Defence Curl this Round, 1 Extra Dice of Damage.

Anubi grins wickedly. That sounds awesome! He swings from Terra's outstretched arm.

"*Chuckles* It is done. From this day forth, we are partners. May we grow bolder and strong together, Anubi."

The mountain of a man let's the aural doggie do their gymnastic for a few minutes as he watched amusedly, before he reached out to pluck them off his arm and set them down feet first on his shoulder.

"Need to visit the Fountain with my Lapis Lazul, but after that we will go to Cress City to train one on one. Okay?"

As no doubt the Pokeballs on his belt were blinking due to being over the six Pokémon limit with his blue jackal, he choose to send back Mikey to the PC in their place.

With everything presumably settled, the rugged wanderer heads towards the Fountain with Anubi in tow (after he balances himself on his shoulder, of course!), with a content smile on his face and a warm feeling in his heart.

Orders: Update Anubi on the timeline for the day, before heading to the Fountain with Lapis Lazuli and Anubi! There, they will get their picture taken, and Lovely will add their water to the fountain! Don't need to do a big scene for that, just a small one!


He'll then Teleport back to Cress City with Gallade (What's his reaction to all this, anyway? Terra hasn't recalled him the whole time, after all), and then go into the Training Room in the Pokémon Center to get started on the Test of Mettle!

I imagine he's eyeing Riolu carefully for multiple reasons that Terra isn't really able to gauge because Gallade as a species can be difficult to read.  But he's also smiling a little since the little guy is so happy that's it's definitely at least a little contagious.

Shiva remained all calm, serious and determined at the soft-rebuke from Chuckles for having arrived without researching - on the outside. It hit her on the inside however - she couldn't find more info about him and his Gym here in Corsage Port apart from what her Guidebook told and if it wasn't for Ventus having told her once upon asking, she wouldn't even be aware of what Type he specializes in and how he generally battles! 'A team prone to stealing emotions and draining a challenger' - that scared her the most by the long shot, but now - she obviously could back away still and he even soft-offered it, though her mind protested to even ponder about it.

"Thank you. I DID research though, but the information was scarce, rather scarce." She shakes her head once. "I only have one small question, if I may: These two Items, am I asked openly reveal them now or may I hold off until actually using them? (I'd prefer this option) If I won't use any Items you won't either, that's good and fair." A break of roughly half a minute passes before Shiva answers the last question - She could STILL back out indeed, last chance. However, with a hand clenched to a fist, she looks up to meet Chuckles' gaze; and notably she does not flinch. "I am sure. I worked towards this. If I don't take that step now, I may likely never do it... So please, let us begin if you're ready as well. Delphox?"

Said magical fox closes his eyes and a moment later they flash open again - when they did so, the tip of his burning wand turned from bright redish yellow to a white and blue tone, a bit like a will-o-wisp! He has been focused on the darkness and the eerie feeling roaming through this building the whole time, silently soaked it up and channeled it into the basswood stick to burn it there, and now he hands it to Shiva before being recalled into the safety of his Ball.

A tingling sensation ran through her hand that she safely held his stick with. It'll help her staying focused, and alongside the Cleanse Tag in a pocket of her Ranger's cloak it'll make sure that she herself is protected from the ghosts. Not that she fears them going out of control, no - but she significantly feels safer like this, and roughly reminding on an exorcist in appearance now was a neat side effect.

"Did you think I'll start with Delphox as my Pokemon? ...No, that was bluffing." With a swift movement, two other Balls are tosseded, and appearing on the battlefield are...

A scary-looking wolf held in black and grey, sporting wings reminding on a Masquerain that she spred out to full potential as he pressed himself against the ground, growling at the obvious presence of ghosts.
Accompanying him is a creamcolored Pokemon with swirly eyes and a spot looking like a sideways heart on one shoulder.

"As it's 3v3, I'll only use one of the combinations I thought out for this battle."
