[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Riolu strikes at Terra's chest as he comes forward. He keeps his elbow extended and his body held in a strong stance. His form is excellent.

Force Palm 1
(4)(5)(1)
(6) Terra takes 1 dmg
Chance: (5)(3)(3)

Knockdown 1
(1)(5)(3)(5)(1)(2)
(6)(2)(3) Riolu takes 1 dmg 4/5hp
-1 acc

Riolu staggers over, off balance, and tries harder this time.

Force Palm 2
(1) He doesn't even make contact.

Strike 2
(6)(1)(1)(5)(1)
(4)(3)(6)(6) Riolu takes 3 dmg 1/5hp -3 pain

Strike 3
This will (auto) KO Riolu if you wish, or you can have mercy! Riolu is still ready to fight and go unconscious if he has to!

The dinosaur fills the room from floor to ceiling, and keeps his head lowered at all times. The trick is in opening the door quietly.

Ambush
(4)(5)(6)(4)(3)(2) (1)(4)(4)(6)(3) = 7 success
(2)(1)(4)(5)(6)(2) (5)(1)(5)(4)(2) = 6 successes
2 Insight + 5 Survival + 1 alert
(1)(5)(5)(2)(4)(1)(3) = 2 successes

Boosted by the Gym Badges and lots of training since leaving home, this goes very smoothly. Two attacks rock Rampardos' chest.

Giga Drain
(6)(5)(6)(6)(6)(2) (2)(2)(6)(4)(6)(5) (4) Critical.
12 dice -5 vit = 7d6
(6)(4)(6)(1)(2)(2)(6) Rampardos takes 5 dmg 12/17hp -1 pain

Hydro Pump
(6)(1)(1)(6)(5)(1) (5)(4)(1)(5) Critical.
(2)(6)(1)(5)(6)(2) (3)(5) Rampardos takes 5 dmg 7/17hp -2 pain.

Already, Rampardos has been spun around and slammed against the wall of his prison. He roars and advances on the little snake Pokemon, intending to flatten it! (heads) If Starmie gets in the way, so be it! (tails)

Rampardos Round 1

Outrage 1 (1)= Snivy
12 Brawl -3 actions -2 pain = 7d6
(6)(6)(5)(6)(1)(4)(5) Luckily, the chain brings it just short of truly flattening Snivy.
8 Str + 5 power -4* vit = 10d6
(2)(6)(4)(6)(1)(5) (5)(5)(6) Snivy takes 7 dmg and faints, and is instantly recalled, looking rather pancakelike.

Hydro Pump 1
(3)(3)(3)(6)(5)(2)
(5)(2)(2)(5)(3)(3) Rampardos takes 3 dmg 4/17hp -2 pain

Outrage 2
(4)(6)(6)(3)(2)(2)
(5)(3)(4)(6)(1)(5) (2)(5)(4)(3) Starmie takes 6 dmg 1/7hp -3 pain.

Bubble Beam 2
(4)(4)(5)(2)
(4)(2)(1)(1) Rampardos takes 2 dmg 2/17hp -2 pain

Outrage 3
(2)(4)(6)(3)(6)
(1)(2)(3)(6)(5)(1) (3)(4)(3)(5) Starmie faints, tossed against the wall where it takes a couple tries to recall him beyond Rampardos' bulk.

Rampardos became confused!

Excellent.  The ambush went spectacularly.

...the following attacks they took, however, did not as far as the targets were concerned...

"...yeesh, you're a strong dino...alright, let's try and finish this.  No hard feelings, buddy."

Out come Solomon and Yule!

"Solomon, wash it away with Brine.  Yule, trip it up with Vine Whip."

2 Brines for Solomon, 2 Vine Whips for Yule, regardless of the initiative order!  Any one hit could potentially KO Rampardos!  (And both have a 50% chance of outspeeding it, too)

Nathan's ready to do the same as he did the previous round as well.

Gym Leader Chuckles vs Shiva Round 2, still scared

Poor Yena's cursed and at 2/8hp, protected by Shield Dust Ability.
Cute Spinda's fresh, at +2 Strength and Tangled Feet Ability activated.
Witchy Mismagius only needs one hit to be out (1/8hp), while super-creepy Dusknoir is at 8/11hp.

With much curiosity Shiva watches that precious Mismagius casting what appeared to be spells of the Rock Element, silently admirering his skill. Chuckles opening up that they practiced them together even surely makes her perk up in a faint hint of amazement. "If I......win against you..... Say, would you give me a small insight HOW you practiced them, maybe? Please? I wish to learn fire magic alongside my Delphox, for us to be able calling flames to burn everything around in a controlled way ( =learn Fire Pledge), yet I know it's a long way to go...."

When Yena suffered that Curse by Dusknoir, Shiva could almost feel it herself, or so she imagined at last. Upon her butterwolfly facing and looking over to her the first time out of many, he'd find her not having lost her content and focus - she remained calm, and so she also spoke to him. "Carry on, Yena. Remember what I once told you - you are trained to protect me from Ghosts, so suffering a Curse or Spite from them MAY happen due to that. I cannot help you now, later - after the battle - I may if it's still pestering you." The last part is underlined by Shiva taking a few very slow steps of Tai Chi, the same she has practiced with Pancham even. With Delphox's wand carrying a white and blue flame at its tip incorporated in these steps, it looks pretty esoteric. "Please concentrate and strike again. You too, Spinda."

Yena must somewhat know that he'll go down soon, but that doesn't stop him from going for these wicked creatures one more time!

Accuracy Roll Final SingleAction Crunch on Mismagius: 3 Dext +2 Fight +3*Brawl - 2 Pain = 6d6, Crit Chance even despite Curse!
Damage Roll: 3 Strength + 3 power of the move +1 STAB = 7d6 +2 autodamage due to SE and held Expert Belt worn as a collar.
Additional notes: 1 CD to lower Defense by 1. Yena follows Shiva's order to not go lethal without questioning it.

Dear Spinda seems content despite her wonky moving, but for how long?

Accuracy Roll Feint Attack 1: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 2 Brawl - 3 Actions = 4d6
Accuracy Roll Feint Attack 2: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 2 Brawl - 4 Actions = 3d6
Accuracy Roll Feint Attack 3: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 2 Brawl - 5 Actions = 2d6
Damage Roll: 5*Strength + 2 power of the move, no STAB but +1 anyway due to held Black Glasses = 8d6 +1 autodamage due to SE.
Additional notes: This move hits even if the Accuracy Roll fails, meaning that Spinda wil use it no matter what even in her confusion! ...Hopefully at last.

Target Mismagius in the first place as he HAS to be brought down fast, move on to Dusknoir if Actions are yet left.

Quote:"You're doing well. The psychology of placing certain restorative items that discourage me from my infamous strategies...using Swagger on your own Pokemon...choosing your targets carefully... I'm enjoying this fight. Please continue."

Oh.... If Shiva heard that correctly and all the shadows and Ghost haven't made her all woozy in mind, Chuckles just soft-complimented her - Whoahw. That was the very LAST thing she'd expect a man like him to do, and for roughly a second she only watched and observed him, wondering whether it was meant honest. Her developing empathic senses flashed a 'yes it was', causing her to tonelessly gasp a little. "T...Thank you? I prepared for this unique battle after all, decided to only come here when feeling like I have the chance to make it... Yesterday night, after long training, I felt prepared enough."

Nathan lets Machop out of his pokeball next.

"Mind keeping an eye on Rampardos while I go fetch Professor Laurelin and tell her the job's done, Machop?"
