[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(08-17-2018, 06:21 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Nathan has several of his own reasons for wanting to visit both TV and Elanor, yes.  And yes, TV is on the way to Elanor.

I personally don't think anything in Gothitelle's vision points to specific locations besides the four important layers of the Skull Ruins, however.  From what I can tell, it's a more overarching prophecy.

That's my thoughts too on the matter, thought the true meaning behind all these visions still elude me, despite Phantom helpfully laying things out. I've never been too good with mysteries or puzzles, and that whole prophecy business sounds like BOTH....

Is Nathan going to bring up the fact that Elanor lies along the way of TV, though? And what reasons does he have to visit both places, if you don't mind sharing? Just curious!

To be fair, even after some of the explanations, some parts of it are still a little vague.  I think the part concerning various party members showing up is just showing some of the key players for the most part.  Though the part concerning Ventus could be interpretted one of two ways...but given that this is probably the same vision that Gothitelle has been having for awhile, that part might no longer be immediately relevant.

An important thing to consider is that Gothitelle's visions all have an astral spin on them, and might not necessarily be foretelling things that are astral in nature, merely using the celestial to describe those predictions somewhat abstractly.

If nobody else brings up the route connecting TV to secluded Elanor, yes.

Nathan could easily compromise/counter Shiva's future critisim/depression by bringing up those facts and offering they investigate BOTH places/settlements, since if one is along the way of the other, why not explore all possibilities?

I see no problem at all to visit Teazel Valley and its Safari Zone first, but turning around afterwards and not visiting Elanor when it's only one Route away from that location would really depress and alienate Shiva as she (and pretty much me) wouldn't understand at all why. It'd be highly unoptimal and illogical to do when, you're right on this, it's on one big way leading southwest and then west. At worst case scenario/the others don't want that for some reason, Shiva will just wish them unwell and bitterly go to Elanor alone. Ven's gone, so nothing directly keeps her with the others at the current moment.

I please would like to bring that up in-game.

…Dear, we never said we would go straight back to Cress or go to Arrowroot after visiting TV/SZ. Please don't jump to the worst conclusions like that, as such pessimisive is usually reserved for only ME. Don't be like me, dear....

We all travel together as a group, so if one of us wants to go to Elanor, we ALL go there and make it 'home base' for a time (Like Cress City is now). Besides, their stuff to do in Elanor too for the rest of the group (The Gym Challenge springs to mind, but their could be other stuff), so its not like we don't have incentive.

You're right, I just....don't want such a bad scenario to happen for whatever reason. Only six badges are needed to be allowed to head to the League, so in theory we could skip two. Practically, I don't want to do that though if possible. :C I at least wish to challenge and win in these that bring another point in Insight.

Directly beelining to Elanor was never my intention though, as Shiva has reasons to see Teazel Valley as well - mostly the Safari Zone with its rare plants and Minccinos.

We kinda have to visit Teazel Valley first if we want to a) head southwest like Nathan's vision pointed out and b) reach Elanor without trekking through the wilderness like when we went to Arrowroot the first time.

Also don't really want to do things in halves if we don't have to.  Always figured we'd explore paths to the end of what we can reach before turning around.  If Rock Smash (and everything else below Mt. Sentry), Dive, and Fly are any indication, though, finding rare/Legendary stuff is gonna be off the beaten path.

Optimally, I'd like to get all 8 gym badges and visit every town and city before heading off to the League via Borealis Road.  Even Liverwort and Charring Cross, even though they're both a little out of the way without much immediate reason to visit either.

------------

Bit of a side note, but we haven't visited Bill yet.  Maybe that waits until a return trip to Cress, I suppose?  Assuming he's still there when we do, that is...

Other side note: I plan to have Nathan bring up Ancestor Cave after requesting another day in Cress.

Another side note: If I could get Nathan's comment on the League members to lead into him actually talking a little bit about the League itself once the heavier stuff is over with, that'd be fantastic.  (It'd also help a little with getting Nathan to relax a little more, but that'd mostly be a side effect of getting that group League conversation/rundown over with)

Bill is on Route 12, so we can easily visit him all together when we head off in direction Teazel Valley and Elanor. No problem at all, really!

Nathan talking about the League stuff has to wait until the more urgent things are discussed and we actually have definitely decided where to go next, at best. It'd only serve to distract things at the moment, but if it'd help Nathan a little it can be done.

Though Shiva's heavily distressed already due to sharing everything, any...at least attempts to make her feel better from anything/anyone but her own Pokemon would be appreciated in order for her not feeling like no cares for her wellbeing. :C

Checking things over again, specifically, Bill is on the Jetty (a small lake to the west of Cress in this case) on the outskirts of Route 12, which is Cress City -> Liverwort Town.  Not super far out of the way since it's not far from Cress, but it's not in the direction of Teazel Valley.  That path is Route 13 according to what Iron linked on page 1 of the game thread.

Looking forward to finally getting to talk about all that stuff Smile I have a good feeling that Shiva's mind is gonna be blown.

Not sure if Nathan is gonna be the guy who does so, given the...circumstances.  However, I do think I have an idea...waiting to see what Shiva's response is to Nathan's vision/comments first, though.

Hmmm...looking at the map again, Routes 12 and 13 intersect on the Cress end of things...maybe visiting Bill isn't too far out of the way after all...

Then that'd be Terra's or Heart's job maybe. At least...any attempt, is that too much to ask for? Me feels I have to rely on my Pokemon via Iron's input to feel alright again though. That's fine too.

I'll reply in-game later when I'm actually having time and something warm to drink with me.
