[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
Oh... You're right on that. *covers under the sheets in light shame*

Have a safe trip back to and a pleasant arrival at your dorm then, my dear! *hugs, then waves* I hope everything will work out for you eventually.

That's why I included the word 'start'. No way Nathan's going to be finished with collecting the Stardust by the TM stuff is done.

(...you bought some Climbing Gear formerly for you and Terra to use on that mission to catch PrimalBulbasaur, I'd guess a pickaxe or something similar sharp and/or pointy should be among these tools to use if TM can't be fred with my Pokemon! \(^^)/ In-Game Proof)

Nathan's had climbing gear since the start of the Atheneum quest. That's where the pitons he used to more safely mine the fossils came from.

I'm not sure pitons make very good digging tools, though. And not much was specified about what was in the kit. If something in there can act as a substitute for a pickaxe, it's at GM discretion.

If one can mine stuff with these pitons -

- I'd be very suprised if one can't dig stuff free with them as well. o.o

Nathan didn't use them to mine.  He used it to put up a net so that the rock wall wouldn't immediately fall on him if it collapsed. He borrowed Ventus's pickaxe for the actual mining.

That's a difference indeed, but I still can't see why one shouldn't be able to dig up stuff or mine valuable ore with pitons if the Pokemon can't help or fail on the task. It may take a bit longer with these tools, but if comparing these and a pickaxe, it should definitely work I'd say!

But please let us not be nitpicking or start arguing about this, that's no use nor necessary. Okay? Just, eh, let think a little outside the lame box and put things into a different usage than they're intended for.

Oh... Keeping our homemade rules for Psywave/Nightshade etc. in mind -
Quote:Psywave/Counter rules: Psywave and similar moves now deal 1 dice of direct damage for every gym badge you have. Ignores defense, STAB, and type effectiveness (EXCEPT immunity). These moves can crit and miss as normal.

- I just realized that I'm not such a lost cause with Litwick's Nightshade Attack as I originally thought. (Means, I already got more Gym Badges that I believed I would with Shiva). That's a nice realization! ^^

Mining with pitons is not something I think anyone would normally recommend.  Pitons aren't exactly great tools for that job, and using them instead of a pick would probably be much, much lengthier and more difficult...

Nothing says you can't try, but I doubt it will be easy...

Yeah, it racks up quickly.

Let us first see if I can't get the job done with my Pokemon as stated in-game before we get too deeply into discussion, please. As said, it won't lead us anywhere and just serves to frustrate...

Black bears are very shy. This one is probably just starting out on its own. If it was a cub, momma would have placed it up a tree and had little fear. Bear attacks (on humans) are very very rare and usually occur when someone does something stupid like try to take a selfie with it. The other time bear attacks can occur is when a bear gets used to humans and starts visiting dumpsters and feeling comfortable. But a bear will bluff first long before it attacks, doing fake charges and swiping the ground.

I don't quite get why someone would want to take a selfie with an encountered wild bear (or practically, any untamed animal) in the first place? Like, I'd probably be frightened like hell if one would ever appear to me alongside a feeling of 'You're so cool!'.
