[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

"Hello, Gallade. Hello, gang. Pokemon are absolutely allowed on my porch, so everyone make yourself at home. Nathan, did you get my card? With the Morgusi art on it?"

Nathan takes a soft drink and immediately nods in response to the inquiry.  "I did.  Wonderful artwork, that.  I could just about imagine dad's Skarmory using the move himself..." (a semi-loaded response, but given how well kept this little secret is and how vague the hint is, it probably seems really ordinary as long as Oscar doesn't react much to the statement!)

Definitely at least a half decent ice breaker, though Nathan's still not quite sure what direction he should try to take this conversation. He's sure Uncle Oscar has more questions, though.

He doesn't react, so he probably wasn't privy to the secret. "Yes, it is wonderful, isn't it? Did you know, I've lived right next to Keni Morgusi for thirty years! We chat pretty much every weekend! He's not big on screaming fans...mostly because of that obnoxious couple up the hill in that disgusting shack...but he does sometimes allow quiet visitors who have rare Pokemon! If you lot have been working up a collection, I could ask him if he wanted to meet yours. How about it, all?"

Terra didn't quite follow along with the conversation between the two relatives (especially the part about the flocking and of the banner...), as he felt is was more of a private conversation than not. Still, when Nathan properly introduced him to the gentleman, the rugged wanderer caught onto that fact quickly, taking a step forward and extending an open hand.

"Hello. My name is Terra Sanaa Ismat. Protect of this group. It is good to meet you, sir."

After that handshake, he stepped back and resume his watchful guard, only moving again to grab an citrus drink when the older man went away and came back with some beverages. He'd and the rest of the group had already eaten and well hydrated themselves earlier, but another tasty drink wouldn't hurt him!

Morgusi's name being dropped, however, caused him to perk up and look first at Oscar curiously, then at the boy. Hmm...

Furthermore, when the older gentleman elaborated that he lived next to the esteemed artist and extended an offer to meet them, that got an even bigger reaction out of Terra, with both his eyebrows shooting up to his hairline and appearing visibly astonished. Such shock didn't last long as he recovered from it and gave a sharp, decisive nod of his head, now looking half way serious, half way.....impressed?

(Oh, Uncle Orscar has a porch swing? I like them a lot. :o )

Quote:Judging by the windows on the gothic house, Shiva would feel sure it belongs to one of Cress City's many artistic types. It looks like a studio could be up there. The artist must have interesting sensibilities if he picked such a different house...he probably has a keen sense of observation, learning many things while looking out those windows over the city.

Some quiet chuckles escape as Shiva as she picks up how semi-awkward Nathan is reacting to his uncle, to her he seems to be quite a kind and buoyant kind of person by her silent observation - that, and definitely family-orientated or at least with a liking of his family. Shiva enjoys this, though she prefers to keep herself a bit in the background still; partly out of respect, partly because she isn't too used to meetings of relatives from her own home.

That doesn't prevent her though from kindly greeting Oscar with a bow when Nathan introduces them all, while Vaporeon doesn't care Raphael gives him a melodic coo in the means of 'Hello, nice to meet you!~" She also mostly shruggs off the comment about flocking to the banner, it's probably better this way. Relatives, haha! But for a moment, it caused her to raise an eyebrow in a frowning expression.

With an iced tea and now also Cottonee in her lap Shiva made herself a home in the porch swing, there's barely any furniture that outclasses these neat sitting accommodations in comfort. She finds herself only-half listening to what's been shared and talked about after a while though, as that gothic house does seem to subconsciously catch her glance way too often for a reason she's not too sure how to describe it in words - she somehow can't shake off the suspicion that someone very particular has his place here, especially when she would bet that up there an art studio is up there...!

The fae fluffball in the meantime enjoys her sweet Master's closure and being safe from the rain here under the roof, rather soon though that blue and black cat- or cub-like Pokemon caught her attention. She blinked a few times at it, and she's sure that this creature being close is the reason her fluff feels so... so 'charged'! Must controlling electric energy probably, like Master's pair of rodents? Yesyes, it is. She decided to playfull light up herself as if loading up a Dazzling Gleam to show that she too was able to glow.

Shiva choked on her drink at the opening that the good uncle is living next to THAT artistic person, immediately she darted her head into the direction of the goth-like house once more - this time with a knowing smile on her face. Hah, she KNEW it! After having averted her gaze again, she gave a kind and light smile over to Oscar, raising her voice as well after Terra has given his agreement. "I... I too would feel quite honored to meet Mr. Morgusi if he would allow, yes! Thanks for the offer. I only got into the Trading Card Game recently, but I'm quite enjoying the hobby." She pauses a little before continuing, her smile decreases only minimally. "Ah, but maybe not too soon - we were just on the way in direct to the savannah."

"I think Mr. Morgusi would be delighted to meet a rare Milotic. As far as I know, he has never crafted one of his true cards for that Pokemon."

"This is an opportunity you would be wise not to waste - assuming he agrees. Surely your travels can wait an hour or two? If not, I obviously understand. I remember how impatient Marco and I were when we traveled Creshire. Him in particular - he always took it a lot more seriously than I did. And it paid off. Why, he got more respect from Pokemon than anyone I've ever met, and that includes some Gym Leaders! Hurt Pokemon would ALWAYS flock to Marco. Even when he was little, before he got his first Pokemon. He was always repairing Exeggcutes - their psychic power could sense his kind spirit - treating the bruises of Spinda, healing lame equine Pokemon, or just comforting little lost Pokemon when he was too young to know much medicine. It was amazing."

(Terra's completely willing to wait a couple of hours for the chance to meet Keni and show off his Lovely Milotic to them, but if Shiva and the rest want to move onwards, he'll regretfully follow along with them instead lagging behind to meet the artist and catching up to them later . Can't do his job if he's not in the group, after all!)

Oh - Uncle Oscar indeed meant going over to the special house NOW and ask Ken Morgusi RIGHT AWAY whether he'd be fine to meet them? That caused Shiva to choke on her iced tea once more as this both came a bit suddenly and as a pleasant suprise. Though it also instantly came with some nervousity for the resident fae enthusiast! Was she dressed well enough for paying such a famous person a vist and all?! ><;

Though on the other hand, she couldn't deny that she was indeed curious to see the inside of that gothic house - this caught her interest just as much as the opportunity to meet the card artist himself. What kind of person he may be? Would he have any Pokemon held as pets? How's living here in the street for him? And so on. Her conscience began to bite her a bit though as this will delay the traveling on a bit, but.... but.... but........

...Eventually, Shiva managed to silence the voice of her conscience enough to give her agreeing to the offer without any dwelling negativity within it. This travel should be enjoyable despite it urges her to move on, and what could be lost if taking some time to follow an unique opportunity? "Alright", she eventually spoke up while sporting a silently excited smile, "If it's indeed okay, I'd be all up to see Mr. Morgusi and his place if allowed and if you're acquainted with him, Mr. (Insert second name of Uncle Oscar here)~"

EDIT: "Then Oscar. ^^" It's a weird feeling for Shiva to call him with his first name, but if he asks so, so be it then!

"My surname is Warren, but you are welcome to call me Oscar! What I'll do is I'll go on over to Mr. Morgusi's, I'll ask him if he's up for visitors, and I'll wave you on over if he is. Is that cool, Nathan?"

"...uh, yeah...sure...don't have my rarest pokemon on me right now, but it would be cool to meet Mr. Morgusi..."

As for Shinx and his reaction to Cottonee playfully glowing...eh.  He just lays down on the porch, looking bored.  He doesn't really find the female fluffball all that interesting at the moment.  If at all.  He certainly isn't feeling very competitive nor very playful.

Hmpf, if the electric cat-bearcub responds to her mischievous and playful antics like that - or rather responds not at all - Cottonee  glows and floofs up herself one last time, then punishes him with an unimpressed look herself and demonstratively looks away into the other direction. ( ̄ヘ ̄)  Seems that if she wishes to have some 'fun' with that creature, she'd have to bring up things of a different caliber!

All of that interaction isn't missed out by Shiva, she holds back an amused laughter and brings her fluffball's attention to other things by beginning to softly stroke through her fluff which she naturally enjoys a lot.
