Shiva doesn't see any sign of any pet Pokemon at all. She even gets a good luck at Morgusi's belt and sees no Pokeballs there.

While K.Morgusi is busy with painting his name onto Shiva's Oddish Card, she continues to tremble and trying hard to maintain some control over herself, letting her gaze wander in the studio helps as it distracts her a little. Though she frowns in wonder as even with her keen eyesight fails to spot any hints of real Pokemon living up here or in the house at all, Morgusi himself doesn't seem to own some either. Huh, she would have at least expected one as a partner or personal muse, but maybe he's feeling better to be completely alone up here with nothing that'd disturb his observations.

When accepting back her now signed card, Shiva's thrilled to bits and seems to almost RADIATE thankfulness from every fiber of her body, her hands shiver in sheer excitement as she just smiles down at her newest treasure before delightfully - yet carefully enough to not damage it - presses it close to her heart. "Thank you, Mr. Morgusi! ThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyou...." To hell would she part with that card now, it's another worthy collectible for her.

Quote:"When a Beautifly flaps its wings in Corsage Port, that has implications for the weather in Charring Cross. And when Heatran stirs himself in the depths of Mt. Molten, perhaps a Teddiursa goes off the trail, and scares a Picnicker, who ventures south instead of north, and buys a flower from a little girl in Cress City, and she and her smile pass under my window in the rain. That is all part of Heatran's journey, and I would need to know it before I could make a true painting of him."

Shiva does not miss the obvious hint that Heatran is living down to Mount Molten, but she doesn't give much thought to that at the moment. What's more important is how the Legend itself indirectly brought a smile to young girl, which enables K.Morgusi tp paint the steely Fire Type... Butterfly Effect in its most pure form?

She's greatly enjoying this invisible connection though, how it all adds up to a final result which manifests into a precious artwork of a Pokemon one would otherwise have no chance of spotting. "I-I... see, thank you for the.... insight!~ That's a... lovely connection between things... I'll try to k....keep an eye open for such chains! Ho-how can you know though that... that it all goes back to Heatran though in this example, that it is the subtle reason for th-the girl's smile, is this where l-listening to stories adds in? O-or is it the experience you're.... I mean, the experience you've build up in observing?"

It takes me many many days, but in my free time I will work on it for you. The same goes for all your friends, Oscar - tell them they can bring me rare and beautiful Pokemon to sketch and I will reward them with cards."

Oscar is pleasantly surprised by this extremely generous offer - it is an astoundingly huge reward for such a small task. Nathan would be particularly aware of the magnitude of this generosity, having known about Morgusi his entire life. It'd be like if the Champion gave you a Big Bullion for opening a door for him. It's mind-mindbogglingly generous.

"I hope you two never lose that love of performing! Perhaps if I do my job properly the truth of Milotic's passion for art will be preserved. So maybe it is a good choice! I remind you however that I will make a card for any Pokemon you can name and it doesn't have to be one I'm looking at or one you are bonded with but any Pokemon whose actions are written on the wind outside my window."

Oh, Shiva doesn't mind at all that Morgusi averts his attention from speaking with her and Nathan to fully concentrate on the noble performance of Terra's aquatic serpent, in fact she is caught by that as well and watches the Milotic's show with an amazed smile on her face. Haaaah, regardless how often this Pokemon appeared in broadcasts of Contests, it never fails to be something that's not filled with gracefulness and beauty to the utmost.

She's also highly interested in seeing how Morgusi sketches the Pokemon, feeling honored to be able to watch the process. Her mocking conscience of the deprature to Elanor being delayed complete turned silent by that, ending up to be replaced with a feeling of 'This was totally worth it! <3 '

Though that was NOTHING against what came next: The offer of a hand-made artwork of a Pokemon of choice, made by nonelse than the old and very talented man right here. Completely free, and completely out of the blue.

This was enough to cause Shiva to stagger and fall a little backwards, luckily she ended up finding a seat immediately as otherwise she'd faint on the spot due to sheer amount of generosity of this. Sitting there and catching her breath was all she could to for a little while her blush blatantly refused to decrease, Raphael chuckled a little before he began to fan some fresh air to her with his wings. How dis they deserve such a noble offer, what have they done to be deemed worthy of such a wonderful thing??! Regardless how much Shiva pondered about it, she failed to get it, but she couldn't care less about the 'why' actually and concentrate more on the details of this wonderful gift.

While the others were already giving their chosen Pokemon they'd like to see as a card, Shiva remained seated and pondered what she should choose... She didn't have to think that much about it though. So when it was her turn to share her details with generous Keni Morgusi, she carefully got up from her seat (still being a little insecure on her feet, but at no danger of passing out anymore) and walked up to Morgusi, speaking in a very very timid way with him. Was it really okay to accept this offer? ><; "A-are you sure on that, Mr. Morgusi? I-I don't wish to.... bother you with more work... A-and even for free! Though if it's... if it's really alright and you i-insist on granting us such a wonderful wish.... Would you be... be fine with painting a-a Sylveon for me then? Maybe...? Please? The one fairy, the true dragonslayer.... Th-the one born out of affection to its caretaker. The one said to g-give out so much Fairy Force that it can be hard to not like it. The one said to being the t-trigger of the discovery of Fairy Type...... I love this Pokemon so much. My pet Eevee b-became an Umbreon under my care, but Spectral.... She had the p-potential for a Sylveon. V-valerie..." Indeed, she couldn't hide the dreamy smile that developed on her upon talking about the fae Eeveelution.

At the soft-payment of a brought rare and beautiful Pokemon, Shiva perked up from a sudden flash of an idea. She already indirectly showed a Cottonee and a Togekiss to Morgusi, but she simply can't try to return this offer of his more! "Oh! I..... I-I mean, rare and beautiful Pokemon... C-coincidence is that I'm having one wit....with me that you'd maybe be interested in seeing? It's a.... rare Psychic Type from K...Kalos, and his evolution thanks to me came with a.... unique cosmetic feature that I p-personally.... really like."

If Keni Morgusi agrees and would like to see the psychic cat, Shiva's Meowstic gets summoned in an instant, greeting her with a melodic purring and immediately looking around as if trying to spot these 'fixed' statues from down the stairs. The look he gave his Master upon noticing that they're not here clearly spoke out an ask whether she can show them to him. Please!~ Smiling and kneeing down to him, Shiva stroke him dearly under the chin. "Haha... Of course I'll let you take a look at them on our w-way out. But at first... Kyuu, wouldn't you want to be a model for a talented and wise artist? A rare and precious Pokemon like you... Show M. Morgusi here your grace and prankful nature and especially your unique fur pattern, will you? It might e-end up being perserved in a wonderful piece of art."

She's hoping that Kyuu would agree to this and enjoy the attention, maybe he'd even shyly showing Morgusi the eye pattern on the iside of his folded ears to let him catch a glimpse of the mighty psychic power he's controlling. That, and the unique smattering of white dots on his dark blue fur origining from him evolving under the sky full of stars (imagine it on the image, not mine)!

Discerning a particular Skarmory from this little card-sized print is a bit tough.
3 Insight + 3 Alert -2
(2)(4)(5)(1) = 2 successes
You're not sure. Definitely could be. The attitude and posture is similar.

"That shouldn't be a problem.  I've encountered a few really rare ones here and there and managed to befriend them.  One of them is even a bit of a Performer herself, though she still has to hone and diversify her skills a little...I'm sure she'll be glad to show you what she can do when she has, though!"

Nathan tilts his head curiously.

"...if I may ask, though, why are Reshiram, The Flame of Truth, and Mesprit, The Embodiment and Sealer of Emotions, so easy to depict in a picture?"

---------

Hmmmm....where was it Keni said one could be a Skarmory?  Left on Cress Street, North on Water Street...

"...if you don't mind me also asking this for clarification, is the location you just gave directions to where you imagined this Skarmory was using FLY, Mr. Morgusi?"

"I meant not Reshiram but Uxie, the Pokemon whose truth echoes across the world to reinforce and create knowledge. The same would apply to Reshiram though, yes indeed!"

"Left on Cress Street, North on Water Street...that was a metaphor, young man."

"Sensing the connection between things...well, you won't always be certain. But just as artwork is a pattern of lines, reality is a pattern of connections and the same old skills and experiences are necessary to sense them both!"

"A Meowstic. Very good. That is a good trade for a Sylveon." Morgusi whispers to Oscar, who comes back in a moment with one of the ceramic figurines. It's a Meowstic! Its legs have been carved, exposing the unglazed porcelain.

"You see, Oscar? You see the flaw in this artist's work? Look at Shiva's Meowstic. Does it stand inanimate and upright like a human? No! It stands lightly on its paws, ready to strut, ready to adopt new stances in response to who is watching and who it senses with its psychic power. See the set of its ears, protective of secrets, but always looking for someone who can be trusted enough to share and show off. It's a cat! Though it stands on two legs it still has the attitude of Persian, Skitty, Liepard, Glameow. This sculptor doesn't see the truth."

Oscar: "Don't fret, Mr. Morgusi. Someday you'll discover a sculptor who can capture the essence of a Pokemon. Then we'll redecorate the whole house!"

Morgusi: "And Heart, what would you like?"

Oh.... Now that makes a lot of sense for Shiva, it's a wonderful way to view things that immediately caused some sparks in her eyes upon having gotten the message of Morgusi's words. Despite the massive blush and her timidness towards the old card artist, she managed to grant him an understanding and dreamy smile. "I.... I see, yes! One can never b-be sure... bu-but trying to see these connections, to s-sense or spot what's behind the.... way things are and why they a-re or why a person's reaccting i... in a particular way - this sounds so.... I-I don't know, it just sounds so... ah....." She hasn't even an idea how to properly express how she's enjoying this, but Shiva will certainly keep this approach in mind.

Haha, Shiva's expression becomes a very quizzical one as Morgusi complained towards Uncle Oscar about how the artist he got the Meowstic Figurine from failed to catch catch the dynamic of the psychic cat's stance. Subtly she compares the 'fixed' figurine with Kyuu, she's not too sure whether she spots what's been wrong with it that Keni was unsatisfied with it; but she thinks she can now understand the reason why he felt the need to change something on all the artworks he has collected.

She hasn't anything more to say apart from honest thanks and bids goodbye, so after Heart's done she's fine to travel on.

"...huh.  Haven't heard that one before..."  Nathan immediately gets out his journal to write some stuff down.  "That didn't really answer my question, though.  I do guess that brings up a new question, though...would Azelf be as easy to depict as the other members of the trio?"

"...ah.  Okay then..."

Nathan is...slightly disappointed, I guess you could say?  But he also totally gets why Morgusi would be using metaphors for 'being' artwork, too.

And then he realizes something, and facepalms.

"...oh.  I just remembered...you asked us to tell you a little about ourselves...shoot...I'm so, so sorry about not answering that right away...that was a little rude of me...well, as you doubtlessly know, my name's Nathan Warren.  I'm a bit of a history enthusiast, I guess you could say.  And the quiet Gallade back there is my best friend and main partner on our adventure across this region."  Gallade gives Morgusi a polite bow, then goes back to keeping an eye on Shinx to make sure he's behaving while everyone else is distracted.

"Azelf would be easy indeed!" Morgusi is excited to think of using his brushes to trace that kind of weighty connection.
"A history enthusiast? That explains a lot. Gallade! What an interesting and noble Pokemon. I've always wondered if they could be taught to produce art. You doubtless know that in the time of King SARIMANOK knights were often artists as well. Poets, calligraphers, landscape painters, martial performers."

"To the point where those of them that were fortunate to have Kirlia would especially emphasize retaining their passion for dance even after evolving them into Gallade."  Nathan chuckles.  "They say dancing is a form of art, too, and who am I to say it isn't?  The whole reason I happen to have one of my rarest pokemon is because Gallade...well, he was still a Kirlia at the time, but he's still the same at heart even as a Gallade...finds Performing fun, just like her.  Of course, she's got a particular talent for it that Gallade doesn't, but they get along really well."
