[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Shiva is always up for snacks! She's cautious at first and somewhat timid, but eventually succumbs to hunger (breakfast was only coffee...) and thankfully accepts some of the offered food from him. The taste is weird but good to her once being used to it, she'd even share it with her Pokemon that are currently out of their Balls: Dizzy might like it, Delphox as an omnivorous fox could as well, I don't quite know what food Umbreon/Dittumbreon/Eevee are used to.

She's saving voicing the question where he got that stuff from, as she can easily guess that it's from a wild Pokemon.

Shiranui is not the only one surprised by Super Fang, as Terra raised both eyebrows in mild shock as she repeating use what looked to be Super Fang, a Move that Mawile typically don't possess/learn from what he knows about the sub-species of Pokemon. More over, he though they'd go for Play Roughs, given the obvious Type Advantage Fairy holds over Fighting, so them using any other Moves was all the more surprising.

Never the less, her chomping didn't avail her much, as his blood brother knocked their lights out in short order. Letting out a *Sigh* of relief, he walked forward to give a grateful pat on the sumo wrestler's back for a Fight well done, before returning them for a long rest, and briefly summoned Melly in his place to Paralyze Mawile with Thunder Wave to make it easier to catch her. He'd like to make friends with them without resorting to violence, but he knew the chances of that were slim, and so doesn't dwell on his failure to do so. Means more work for him in the short/long run to make them a true partner, but he's never been one to let difficulty nor adversity hinder him much!

Angie got to stay out by her papa's side, and crawled out behind them to give the fallen fae a haughty glare + *Ssssszzzz!* . Serves you right, for being so naughty! The simple monk didn't notice this (As his attention was squarely focused on catching Mawile), and so her behavior went uncommitted on. Hm....

Order: Welp, can't say I didn't try to appeal to Mawile's sense of friendship! She's getting Paralyzed and then caught with a Pokeball, and Terra will keep trying until he runs out of them (He currently has 5). Angie will remain out with Terra, and will be picked up and carried after he catch the metallic fae and returns to the group. Looks like he's going to have yet another Disobedient Pokemon to manage carefully, but hopefully it won't be too bad like Duskull....

*Flashforward!*

The rugged wanderer doesn't hesitate to accept a Yanmega Drumstick, as he NEVER turns down and/or lets ANY food go to waste.  "Thank you, Spira," he says with a small smile, before taking hearty bites off his finely cooked Bug, *Hmming* in appreciation at the superb flavor and texture. Though he predominately eats a mostly vegetarian diet due to a combination of preference and belief of unnecessarily harming/slaughtering Wild Pokemon, Terra's wealthy Hoen upbringing left him with an wide (if fancy) enough palette to enjoy Pokemon meats. Add the fact that his life in the wilds acclimated him to eat just about anything to Survive and grow strong, and the result is that the simple monk is about the least pickiest eater ever. So long as it ain't Poisonous or harmful, all food goes down fine with him!

Welp, all my OOC questions got answered already, so disregard my last post!

As for the snacks...Nathan will politely decline.  He's a little too nervous right now for absentminded snacking.  (He's still trying his absolute hardest to not show it, though!)

OOC note: Oh, and please don't tell Nathan what those drumsticks are made out of...

Pokeball: (4)(2) vs (1). Gotcha! Mawile was caught!

0/0/3. Mawile will become loyal pretty quickly as she gets to know you.
Ability: Intimidate
Moves: Fake tears, Vice Grip, Feint Attack, Crunch, Iron Defense, Play Rough, Sucker Punch, Super Fang

Shiranui gets 3XP and Terra gets 2.

You walk until dawn. As the moon retires to a dim corner of the sky, the sun peers over Mt. Sentry and drives away the Murkrow, the Hoothoot, the Spinarak. Dizzy becomes clearly visible again. You can hear distant trumpets calling for camp to be packed up. Then Dizzy pricks his ears and horn up, and suddenly uses Future Sight.

The next thing you hear is the thunder of hooves. Then a dust cloud appears as if out of nowhere, and before you know it, you're surrounded on both sides by onrushing armies! Dour-handed men with the flashing, challenging eyes of the noble class, each mounted on a very fast Pokemon. With the rising sun in the east comes an army mostly mounted on Rapidash. From the west, a troop of Mudsdale riders. A few other Pokemon stand out amid the mounts, and there are also humanshape Pokemon in the rearguard of the army, running full out to keep up.

A small platoon of Conkeldurr in each army pass around Apricorns painted with lightning bolts, or prepare siege engines.

The riders bear swords and Apricorns. Some are already releasing Flying types or small Special-users such as Pachirisu and Raichu to fight for them on horseback.

A fleet of ominous Marowak stride behind even the rearguard. Nathan has heard they would show up in places where Pokemon might be about to die.

You have barely a chance to react, and then you find yourselves in the midst of a pitched battle! Dizzy's Future Sight falls, causing a small clear area around you. The soldiers are mostly focused on each other.

Encounters - Route 13 Dawn

1. Name: Hitmonlee*
Challenge: Hard?
Cap: 2?
Bid start: 2
Rewards: Big XP, possibly a stolen item or Pokemon!
Notes: This Hitmonlee is all over the place! He leaps on coiled legs from mount to mount, or to the ground. When he finds an unoccupied soldier on the Rapidash team, he lashes out at them with a powerful kick - blows which he pulls just short of hitting his opponent. Then he springs away, avoiding their Pokemon attacks or sword blows. If his kick came near a head or neck or other vital area, Hitmonlee adds a dot of warpaint to his forehead. Sometimes, he instead risks his life to knock a Conkeldurr's tools away, or steal a mount, or pop a Pokemon back into its Apricorn.
This practice is known as "counting coup," an honorable battle technique that both Terra and Nathan would know about for sure.
You can challenge Hitmonlee to any kind of contest or battle.

2 & 3. Name: 1v1 against the Eastern Suns/Western Plains
Cap: 1
Challenge: moderate, with risk
Bid start: 1
Notes: You've found an unoccupied Mudsdale/Rapidash to ride. If you have a Pokemon small enough to ride a horse with you, you could 1v1 an enemy soldier.
Lethal moves are being used.

4. Name: Farfetch'd* Escape
Cap: 2
Challenge: ???
Bid start: 1
Notes: A scared Farfetch'd has escaped the supply wagon. He was supposed to be tonight's dinner, and now he's about to be trampled underfoot!

5. Name: Trainer supplies
Cap: 1
Bid start: 1
Challenge: Moderate
Notes: You'll stumble on some war supplies, but some kind of obstacle will threaten your safety.

6. Name: Eastern Leader
Challenge: Tough
Bid start: 2
Cap: 2
Notes: The general of the eastern side is flying on a big Tropius above the battle, shouting commands.
If you engage this guy, you'll give a big advantage to the western side.

The last three Encounters require dodging out of the way of the army. You can dodge fully out of the way with 3 successes on a Dex check. 2 successes will get you to the fringe of the battle where you don't have to choose any Encounter.

7. Name: Conkeldurr
Cap: None
Bid start: 1
Notes: If you can get to them, you can interact with them however you choose.

8. Name: Western Leader
Cap: 2
Bid start: 2
Challenge: Tough
Notes: The Western Leader is hanging back, giving orders via different banners from the back of a big Hippowdon which practically swims through the earth. If you engage this guy, you'll give a big advantage to the eastern side.

9. Name: Alolan Marowak + friends
Cap: 1 (2)
Bid start: 2
Challenge: Moderate
Notes: Just one of the ghostly Marowak, leading the wedge of normal Marowak.

Unlimited: Mandibuzz, Vullaby, Murkrow

You're welcome to think of other ideas too. I'll roll 2d6 to see what kind of random events occur during your maneuver.

As soon as Nathan hears those trumpets, he knows something is about to go down...that signal...it came from...behind them...

...from the camp they just left...and it sounded like...oh no...

Dizzy prepping a Future Sight only amplifies the sinking feeling in his stomach.  Gallade is tense, ready to take action.  Ditto has long since stopped being a Herolune, so it's been recalled for the time being (speaking of Ditto, what number Day should I count this as for its random Transformations, @Iron?) Edit: Okay, in a weird turn of events and GM discretion, Ditto is still a Herolune until nightfall! Lol. Means he'd probably still be out and be just as tense and ready as Gallade is, too.

And then the armies assemble, and Nathan sees the Rapidash and the rising sun...the Conkeldurr, the Marowak...

"...guys, it looks like Sarimanok's Rapidash mounted forces are about to try and claim some western territory for their liege..."

And that's all Nathan can manage to say before the chaos ensues.  He'll have to give them the rest of the details later.

In the Midst of a Brutal, Ancient Struggle: VS Tigrex - Monster Hunter Series
(And as a bonus, if you want to add in some sounds of battle to complement the background music, here you go!)

(Encounter I'm picking will come later.  Wanted to get this out of the way so everyone knows IC which side is Sarimanok's.  And so we had a decent theme for the background music, too)

Let's count it as Herolune until the moon rises again.

This happens at some point when dawning, means independant of any Encounter.

Being awake instead of all cuddled up in a comfy and soft bed and on top of that outside and traveling a distant region was a completely new sensation for Shiva, but the natural fae enthusiast quickly found herself enjoying this. Seeing the first early beams of sunlight marking daybreak and feeling them on her skin was a unique experience, like Mother Nature's very own alarm clock.

As it became brighter and brighter and the stars less and less visible, Shiva called Umbreon/Dittumbreon/Eevee to her side and allowed them to be recalled into their Balls for some rest after experiencing such a beautiful night. The three will be sent to Bill via the PTC in return for Raphael, Vaporeon/Azu if Raphael can't fight with me on Rapidash and Nightshade with young Eevee holding a note that simply says 'It's dawning here... And I'm running out of letters to keep contact with you, once we're back in 2017 I'd please need some more from you. 191 seconds this time.'

Raphael ended up summoning himself a second before Shiva would do so and immediately darts high into the orange and blue sky with a delighted growl. It looked like he was greeting the morning sun with a Morning Sun on his own, with a smile Shiva noticed the honest enjoyment of the serene archangel, his held Deyo Flower in-a-glass sparkled gorgeously.

Though just when Shiva was about to summon Shiny Shuckle to have him enjoy some free time as well, the trumpets broke the peacefulness, almost in sync with Dizzy Shiva got the weird and unexplainable feeling that SOMETHING was about to happen, that SOMETHING was coming... *cue for the armies*

Phantom, get in the habit of rearranging your party before Encounters are revealed. It's not fair to select what fighters you have on hand after the Encounters are revealed.

Do it toward the end of one set of Encounters, in a Flashforward.
