[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

When you arrive, the Magnemite instantly head off, inspecting the break-in site, the old warehouse hideout, the jail, etc. They don't need you, and they'll keep sentry.

Alrighty.  Nathan will send a text to Detective Thrawn, then.

Quote:Dagny's up to date, and she thinks we can potentially put Juni away for life.  She says the gauntlet's disarmed and that I can give it to you for the evidence pile.  Where do you want to me to drop it off or meet you so I can hand it to ya?

Presumably, there's no difficulties in dropping the gauntlet off with Thrawn.  Which means the next thing on Nathan's list is...

...going to his uncle's place.

Welp, here we go.  It doesn't take Nathan long to get there, and it's a hard location to forget once you've been there since Keni Morgusi lives next door.  So...*knock knock* on Uncle Oscar's door.  Seeing Nathan again so soon is probably a surprise for Uncle Oscar if he's home.

He's home. "Back already, son? I thought you were heading to Teazel Valley with your friends. What's up? Come on in."

"Of course, dear, see you in a second." She doesn't ask any questions.

After ten minutes for Gallade to recover his breath, Marta appears in Gallade's arms in Cress City! Ten minutes from that, she and Gallade arrive at Oscar's, arm-in-arm. She lets go of your Pokemon to run up and hug you. You can see she's got her Pokeball belt on, which she only dons when she's going on an adventure. You can expect she has Max and some kind of farmhand Pokemon, maybe like a Herdier?

(Yeah, a Herdier would make sense, I think)

And you can bet he returns that hug.  "...thanks for coming mom.  I...just learned something.  Well, a few somethings.  I'll tell you inside.  Both you and Uncar Oscar are probably going to want to have a seat."

Once everyone's seated, Nathan drops the bombshell, a sad look on his face.

"...I found out what happened to my dad.  To Marco.  So, rather recently, my traveling companions and I...we met Celebi.  And soon after, some time travel stuff happened, and we saw a lot of really weird and sometimes scary things that I'm not sure most people would believe.  The last 3 hours have been more like 4 days for me, and I'm really looking forward to sleeping in an actual bed after being in so many different varieties of wilderness.  Right before we returned to the present time, though...we encountered the people who last saw where Marco Warren went 3 years ago.  And they came after us soon afterwards to try and keep us from looking further into their actions.  They attacked him at the Skull Ruins, and were probably attempting to drive him deeper in so the ghosts would finish the job for them.  It apparently happened on the layer above what's known as the Kadabra Chambers, a place that's said to be very strange and incredibly dangerous...I think dad had his strongest team of 6, though, so he's probably fine..."

...

"...the ones responsible for attacking him and us are all in custody, though, at least.  All the grunts we fought 3 years ago all got jailed.  We also just captured their leader, and she's going through the legal process as we speak."

Whew...that was harder for him to say than he thought it would be...

Marta goes cold. Her mouth forms a thin line. Oscar is just looking between the two of you, waiting for someone to break out in a smile.

Marta: "Nathan. My little boy. My little boy! Oh, Nathan, you can't be certain? You couldn't be imagining this? Celebi...Marco...the Ruins...I'd...I don't even know if this would be good news or bad, even if I could believe it! Nathan, Nathan...Nathan...Look into my eyes and promise this is the truth?"

She doesn't entirely seem like she believes you, and maybe she doesn't WANT to believe you.

Oscar: "Marta! Now see here! This could be the best news we've heard in three years! If Nathan knows where Marky disappeared, he may be able to find him, or find out exactly what happened to him! There's a lot that was fishy around Mark's disappearance. That business with the League, how quickly the police were stalled, all the strange things going on here in Cress at the time. The other disappearances at the same time. Don't you see this could explain it all? And Nathan fought Tanuki. He's strong, Marta. He's going to be as strong as Mark. He really could be the one to delve into the Ruins and reunite me with my brother! Reunite our great big family! You could move to Cress, I could move to Trillium, we could talk like we used to!!"

Marta: "NO!! The Ruins is the LAST place Nathan needs to be! Send the police, send the League...hell, send a bulldozer. I can't bring myself to believe he's in there, after all the false starts we had that first year...that HORRIBLE year."

Quote:Pangoro is pretty rare in Creshire, but yours is well behaved. So you get curious looks, but no scared looks. If anyone were to stare too much, Pangoro would roll his eyes or glare at them.

Haha, that's amusing. Shiva can sense these curious looks from the citicans but doesn't mind them too much, she's very glad that they don't come to her to bombard her nosy questions where she got that panda from and such. As long as they don't annoy him or Master or do anything that'd cause the former to outrage at 'em with full force, everything is well and there is no need to be scared of her Pangoro!~

The Friend Ball turns out rather well, Shiva feels like having done a good job on that one despite it's her first self-made Ball. Turning the final product a bit in her hands to inspect it carefully from all sides (including inside) as well as testing it by opening and closing it a few times, she smiles to herself in some silent pride: This Ball should be comfy enough for the Pokemon of hers it's intended for. Can't wait to present it. ^^

Before that can be done though, Shiva packs all her stuff together, picks up all of her Pokemon, cleans any leftovers from their dinner and heads downstairs to hand the room keys to Nurse Joy, before she'll withdraw one 'Mon of hers in exchange for Delphox. Checking the updated weather forecast on her phone just in case, she makes her way to Celebi Park. It's actually not late yet, it's not even dark yet, but still the natural fae enthusiast can't deny that she's feeling exhausted from all the happenings lately, some calm hours spend in this park followed by a night with the starry sky marking her ceiling came very welcome now. She feels like having deserved that.

She eventually finds a nice spot not far away from the shrine but far away enough from any Tall Grass, and after she has prepared a cozy layer of pine needles to take a seat within, it was time to summon the Pokemon this Ball said to help increasing Loyalty is meant for:

The Blossom Pokemon seems happy to see Shiva again, as it greets her with a smile and an immediate use of Sunny Day, the warm rays tickle Shiva's skin and cause Nightshade to bloom beautifully. She leaps onto Master's cupped hand and gazes at her with curiosity as if to wordlessly say 'What are we doing here in this park?'

"My, Nightshade dear one", Shiva begins in a soft voice, "You probably remember this place? Yes, this is the same park that you evolved four days ago, but for me it feels like you have done only yesterday when returning here. This park will always have a special place in my heart... And so do you." She pauses for a moment as she's trying to find proper words with a now almost sad look on her face. "I'm so sorry that I can't have you with me all the time like I wish I could, I'm probably not that used yet to having a lot of own Pokemon to care for. But, you are something special for me, and isn't it more important to share few meaningful hours together than being with each other all the time without enjoying oneself? Nightshade, you are my dear sunbringer. You're the one that makes the sun shine for me when I'm feeling down, and the very same power allows your Pokemon companions surpass themselves when they have you as a battle partner. In don't know whether you know, but...this skill is UNIQUE as no other Pokemon discovered so far is able to do that apart from your species."

Shiva lets herself fall backwards into the pine needles, looks up into the sky peeking through the branches. A few bird Pokemon cross the sky. "...Can you remember how we first met? There, on that whitered cherry tree. I promised you to protect your from hungry bird Pokemon and that one day you'll evolve if you only stick with me. I kept my word." Another small break before she continues. "A noble and wise Fire Type has told me that 'Pokemon are nature', that 'they are the fundamental force of it given form'. I'm beginning to see why... It's not only the Grass and the Fairy Types, which I always thought have the closest connection to nature, but ALL Pokemon... Within ALL of them Earthpower floats."

She averts her gaze from the sky and sits upright again. "Nightshade, I wished to gift you something, something I have made myself. Something special as it's made from a fruit which tree is said to be extinct or very rare nowadays. It's this unique Pokeball."

"It's said to be very comfortable for the Pokemon that's registered to it, and symbolizes the bond the Pokemon shares to its caregiver. Its green color always reminds me on my favorite Grass Types. ^^ Tell me... Do you accept it? Would you like to call this Friend Ball your new safe haven instead of your own redwhite Pokeball?"

I remember my Almanac being able to transfer a Pokemon from one Ball to another.

Yes, the Almanac or Pokedex can transfer a ball. However, the Friend Ball in particular only ever works its magic on ONE Pokemon, the power would be lost if transferred. So you can't use it to befriend a Pokemon, transfer them to a red ball, then put a new Pokemon in the Friend Ball.

Cherrim pets the green ball a little, and senses good things from the freshly-carved nut. She opens her blossoms and smiles up at you.

He knew his mom would react like this...

...he didn't have the heart to not tell her, though.  So he musters what courage he can to look his mom in the eyes and say, that yes, he's telling the truth...

"...mom, you know I don't like to lie, particularly about stuff like this...I've got Dagny and Detective Thrawn, who was also involved in that incident three years ago, looking into it, though, and I don't plan to head to the Ruins any time soon.  Heck, if they find definite leads that he's not in there, that he just flew out of there on Skarmory after getting attacked, I'd prefer to follow those.  He was there on purpose from the sound of things, though...on some kind of secret mission to find something for the League, and knowing him, he was going to try and see it through.  That's why he was attacked.  And the more I learn about why, the more I...the more I want to do something about it..."

...deep breathes...

"...the people that attacked him...they're an organization called Scimitars.  They wear metal gauntlets and use them to channel the powers of their pokemon and use them as if they were their own.  They claim to want to save the region but...they do so, so many horrible things to make sure they're the ones who'll save it and nobody else has the chance to...they almost killed Calam, mom.  That's how he got his scar.  They're partnered with the people who did who knows what horrible things to Gallade that nearly killed him when I first found him.  And they mistreat their own pokemon, making them absolutely miserable...I can't just stand by and let them continue to have their way..."

Awww, that's definitely a 'Yes, I do accept it, sweet Master!' from what Shiva can tell, and it causes her heart to skip a beat as the cherry blossom's smile is just too cute. Placing the green Ball in front of her and preparing her Almanac right beside it, the 'deal' between Shiva and her Sunbringer is signed with the sharing of a fond hug among warm rays of sunshine. "Thank you, my der and sweet one - You won't regret it. I won't regret it either." <3

It was an almost ceremonical act for Shiva as she recalled Nightshade into her standard redwhite Pokeball, types a bit on her Almanac and watches in eager how the message 'Tranfer being processed, please wait...' appears on screen, soon followed by: 'Transfering Process complete!'

The redwhite Ball is packed away, it'll now be able to hold a new Pokemon sometime. Picking up the now occupied Friend Ball she smiles at Nightshade through the transparent half, asking her in a soft voice "So... How's your first impression, is it as comfy as it is said it is?" ^^
