Professor Mallorn? Huh." *clicks on that PC* "Pokemon Professor, selling Pokedexes?" Spira sends this professor an email:
Quote:Pardon me, Professor, but I'd like to buy a Pokedex from you, and more info on this would be appreciated. -Spira
"The Mallorn Pokedex is the 8th wonder of the world, boss! It has all the capabilities of a modern phone, plus information on over 700 species of Pokemon! Once you own one, you'll be automatically sent $50 for every new species you capture and scan with it. The Pokedex is $1500; I'm sure you'll find that it pays for itself in no time! It also has a black and white camera, a B button for canceling evolution, a radio, a basic TV, and can swap Pokeball registration. Oh, and it updates automatically and wirelessly." Spira does the quick math to figure out it'd take 30 Pokemon to break even on the investment, then replies to the message with "Alright, I'll buy one!" -1500$ As soon as he gets it he'll see what it says about Linkite and scan the rest of his current party with it.
A magnificent Rapidash rides up an hour later bearing a package for you. It licks your hair and rides off.
Inside is the Pokedex, each panel rimmed with holographic trim. It has loads of info on the movelists and evolutions and care of all your current Pokemon. It beeps to acknowledge an update about Magcargo and the Magmarizer. When you scan Linkite, it beeps and displays an error. Then it asks you to input data on this Pokemon or to describe what happened when the error occurred.

There is a non-Almanac Fast Incubator for $2,250. It can only hold one Egg at a time, but it can be reused indefinitely once its Egg hatches. This Incubator doesn't have side effects.
(Oh, and it doesn't have an effect on the speed of a Legendary Pokemon's hatching).
(1750+2250 = 4000. Yeah, I have enough money for both the Fast Incubator and the License. Gonna buy the Non-Almanac Incubator and the License after I make the exam of Breeder) Any Nurse Joy can help you out, and Spira and Shiva are both qualified to give you bonus dice on your exam.

Shiva passed it with an almost perfect score, maybe if you like she could help out Heart on studying for it or such? And there is that too? Okay then. Heart approach Shiva and talk with her. "So Shiva, I need some help. I trying to get a license to carry Beldum and the other Egg without have to sacrifice a member of my party. Could you tell me how I can get a Licence?"
Eeeekkkkk! Shiva's somewhat startled by Heart coming to the table she's at and adressing her so directly as she was just lost in reading a dark-fantasy novel. Purrloin just keeps rolling around on the table as if nothing has happened, way too concentrated on that gift Master has bought her in Violet Tent!~ Nightshade curiously watches from Shiva's shoulder how the black cat playfully tears a bird made from Berries apart with her claws.
She needs a moment to gather her mind, then answers to the PUNisher. "Eh, sure.... Lisence? O... Oh, you likely mean THAT one!" Rummaging in her belongings a bit, she shows Heart her own Breeder's Lisence, holographic and with her picture and everything, but she cleverly covers her last name with one finger. From how she smiles in silent pride, she seems to value this Lisence a lot.
She kindly explains Heart everything about it, from the fee over the meaning and benefits to the mandatory exam. "I can, maybe, if you like... help you out on studying a bit for that one? Some things they test are pretty tricky or in-depth, but naturally they don't want to give out such a Lisence like candy." Shiva seems delighted to be able to pass on the basic things of what her father has taught her, it takes minimum an hour. She's patient and doesn't mind repeating things until Heart has gotten it, reviewing things like that grants Shiva her finally 3rd point in Science 1 Speciality (-12 chara XP). I'll max it out, you'll see!
If Heart goes off to take the exam right away then, she'll wish him good luck, passes the time by continuing with reading and asks how it was afterwards. That'll be all then hopefully, onwards with Encounters please if everything's settled.
Heart was listening and writing in his notes all piece of information Shiva was saying, a few times asking to repeat a certain information and at the same time taking care to understand everything. Natu and Patrat was both obisiously out of their pokeballs, with Natu in the top of Heart head looking at his masters writing and friend (its a amusing sight to see) and Patrat was also exploring a bit the pokemon center, but never leaving the sight of Heart. After a hour he finish the study. "I think I ready. Wish me luck Shiva! Time to go ahead to get that license!"
Action: Begin the exam first and see if I can pass though it before buying the Fast Incubator. Lets see If I can surpass it.
3 Knowledge + 1 Delta + 2 study
(4)(6)(1)(5)(4)(1) Heart gets lucky with some questions about unusual breeding situations, including Deltas. He also does great on some practical questions since he's been carrying a difficult Beldum Egg. There's a spot of bad luck where Heart took a question a little too literally and got it wrong, things like that. But definitely a passing grade and more than the minimum.
Heart obtained a Breeder's License! (after paying the fee).
Heart pay the fee and with a lot of pride he kiss the License. "UHU! Thank you! Cant wait to tell Shiva about that!" Heart put 1750 Pokedollars since its the price of the fee, and of course take the opportunity to buy the famous Non-Almanac Fast Incubator, putting more 2250 Pokedollars from his pounch (4000 in total extract from my money Iron). He right away put the Beldum Egg inside to make sure it is safe and sound. And he meet a Nurse Joy to ask the normal Incubator and he put Moltres Egg inside.
After that moment, Heart go to meet Shiva/@ PhantomUnderYourDesk and tell her about the exam. He show to her with huge pride. "Hehe. The study help a lot! I take some difficult questions, and take a question a little too literally and get wrong. But I have passing grade with more than the minimum. I should not be able to pass without your help. Thank you a lot."

"Thank you for your contribution, POKEMON TRAINER SPIRA." $50 is credited to your account, even though you didn't capture Linkite while you had the Pokedex.
From now on, remember to give yourself $50 whenever you catch a new Pokemon.

(Oh... Iron, now that you've mentioned it, I realized I've accidently and completely forgotten about these 50$ from Prof.Mallorn for every new Pokemon during the timetraveling, I really should add a papernote of that somwhere near laptop. ^^; I've added 250$ to me due to Shuckle, Primal Eevee, Primal Glaceon, Purrloin, Petilil.)

Once again the natural fae enthusiast ends up being startled, she accidently chokes on the coffee she was just enjoying - now one page in her novel will always remind her on this morning due to it being decorated with coffee stains. This time Purrloin looks up in wonder over the noise and excitement, but only rolls her eyes a bit and goes back to nimbling on that Berry Bird as if nothing has happened.
Shiva seems delighted over Heart's honest thanks, blushes a bit even and fidgets on a strand of her hair in embarassment. "Nice to hear that you've passed it, congrats!~ Glad that I was, eh... able to help, hehe." She doesn't really feel to openly share to him how well she herself has passed, she thinks it would look like she's showing off. Change of topic! "Eh.... Can we go now?"

Heart nod his head. "Yeah. We ready to go. Eggs safe, and now we can continue to our epic journey though Teazel Village." Heart release Natu, who once was in the top of Heart semi-crimson/black hair. He makes himself confortable around his messy air like a nest. "Hmph. I always thought someday my head would use to be the home of a Pokemon. But not like this."

Ohhh! Cottonee suddenly awakes from the slumber she has been enjoying while being all cuddled up in her sweet Master's lap and therefor not openly visibly, it was almost like a non-verbal cue has made her jolt awake. Giving an amused ^o^♡-face to Natu the vivid fluffball floats up and takes a comfortable seat right there on Shiva's head, burying herself cozily in her hair. Shiva herself doesn't mind at all though, even enjoys this quirk of her Starter.
Now they're pals!

Cute!!
You Teleport or glide to the campsite. There are several Berry bushes growing there in 2017, so each of you can have 1 Sitrus Berry.
It sure is easier going in 2017! The Route is well-kept, and there don't seem to be any looming threats from wild Pokemon, Scimitars, or ancient traps. Maybe word hasn't spread quite yet...
A few hours later, you reach Teazel Valley! The eponymous teazel plants are everywhere near the town - big spiky plants that are currently flush with purple blooms. The most common Pokemon here is Beautifly - they flit from flower to flower along with other pollinators. A rare Vivillon is considered to be a lucky sight in Teazel Valley, and some people read fortunes in the patterns on their wings (something Shiva discovers from the Guide).
Combee will collect double Honey here.
The Valley is actually several shallow bowls grown together.
One contains all the town's buildings: fresh grocers, outfitters, a cluster of battle arenas, and hostels.
One mini-valley has been allowed to grow a little wild, and that's what you're walking through right now: small forests and lots of campsites. You even see an RV with a familiar bovine Pokemon on top...
The final shallow bowl is the biggest. Two great horns of land cradle a broad expanse of Tall Grass, native grasses, sparse trees, and many bodies of water surrounded by gentle hills. A log gate and gatehouse fills the entire gap in the horns, sealing off what must surely be the Safari Zone.
Mist rises from the pools and gathers under the dense forests, but the rest of this region is warm sunlight! There are plenty of boulders rising up above the greensward, where reptile Pokemon soak up the heat or mammalian Pokemon nap. Nidoran, Buneary, and occasionally Azumarill dig warrens in the lee of the boulders. There are rumors of forgotten barrows and tunnels beneath the ancient valleys, so sometimes people will glimpse very strange Pokemon.
This is also the town where all sorts of high ranking League officials come to train.
Lots of lesser trainers work to earn enough money to buy better Safari equipment.

Safari Zone Shenanigans
-
You aren't allowed to faint Safari Zone Pokemon. You'll automatically withhold if even a crit would take them down (unless you explicitly choose to break the law)
You can only use Safari Balls to perform captures, of course.
Any Safari Zone expedition will give you trainer XP in addition to any battles.
Safari Cup
A Safari Cup occurs every Monday (tomorrow, Day 71).
In this challenge, trainers head into the Safari Zone for 24 hours, then have a tournament using 2 mons per match.
The entry fee is $5000, which includes permit, rental camping equipment, food, and 20 rented Safari Balls. You keep whatever you catch.
First prize is $25,000 and a rare Delta Pokemon from the Safari Zone. Second prize is $15,000 and an uncommon mon of your choice like Pinsir, Scyther, etc. Third prize is $5000 and you get to keep your rental equipment/Balls.
All participants get a Poke Doll of a random Safari Zone mon, win or lose!
If you get injured, the Rangers come save you and you're disqualified.
Ranger Camp
Speaking of Rangers, you can volunteer as a Volunteer Ranger during the Safari Cup or during any expedition. This is only $500/day to cover your supplies, and you learn valuable Survival skills. You only get 5 Safari Balls per day and you are exposed to less variety of Pokemon, because you have to perform chores or assist others.
Chansey's Outfitter Station
Three day Safari Zone trip where you get 21 Safari Balls, you're fully outfitted, and you're assigned a guide who can help you get the Pokemon you want. Also $5000, but keep in mind it's 3x as long as the Safari Cup challenge.
Items
The Safari Zone is valued for its crafting supplies, such as Stantler sheds or rare plants. All the above options come with a Gathering Permit. You can also purchase just the Gathering Permit for $250/Encounter Slot, and you have to prove you understand how not to take too much of any one plant.
Levels
There are six areas within the Safari Zone with increasingly strong wild Pokemon, but rarer stuff. You can switch Areas after any Encounter Slot, beginning your new Slot in a new area.
The Safari Zone is special in that you encounter multiple Pokemon per Encounter Slot.
Trading Post
Short on cash? You can pawn items here for half their value, then repurchase them for that same (halved) value if you catch something valuable in the Zone to build your cash reserves again.

Also it's still Encounter Slot #1 unless you are Heart, who did a Training Session.
