[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Mellow Mel Round 4

I think you forgot to include the stat increases from Ominous Wind, though it didn't end up making a ton of difference.

Water Gun 1
(2)(2)(3)(1)(1)
Misss, Slowbro is too lazy to really take aim properly. Then suddenly he's Astonished by Luna attacking with all Spira's might.

Astonish 1
(2)(3)(5)(3)(4) (6*)
(2)(4)(1) Slowbro takes 2 dmg 5/7hp -1 pain, it's a little smaller than usual for a Slowbro.
CD: (6)(6)(6) Slowbro flinches 2

Using Will to get a critical hit chance is potentially a good tactic if you need to finish your opponent quickly.

"Well that's not very mellow."

Astonish 2
(5)(6)(2)(4) (6*)
(6)(1)(3) Slowbro takes 2 dmg 3/7hp -2 pain
Flinch: (3)(2)(4)

Water Gun 3
(1)(2)(1) Miss

Ominous Wind 3
(5)(1)(2)(3)(2)(4) (6)(1)
(6)(2)(2)(5) Slowbro faints!

"C'mon Slowbro, you didn't even get one hit in, but oh well. Most trainers here are stronger than me. I've come to accept that. That's how life is, you know?"

Mellow Mel was worth 12XP. Spread that among your Pokemon who fought, and take 6XP for yourself.

(Yikes.....the dice are screwing me over in the Damage department, it seems! Aiyieyieyie.....well, from the top again!)

Terra smiled back to the shieldmaidan , inclining his head to them and simply saying "Thank you." It was always nice to battle against Trainers gracious enough to clue him in on things he didn't know/understand, especially if they presented a fierce, Tough challenge!

He was taken aback when what he though was a slimy  Water type began unmistakably Outraging, blinking in pure surprise as he realized that Goodra was a Dragon. A bloby, soft looking, not too violent or belligerent Dragon, but a Dragon none the less!

".....Goodra.....a Dragon type? Did not expect that. Strange....*Shakes head* .....but does not matter too much. Lovely, keep using Twister against them, until they are Fainted. Believe in you, so you can do it.

Orders: Hyper Potion at the start of the Round to get Lapis Lazuli to 16/26 HP (Since it says Hyper Potions heals 8 HP), and then he'll churn out another 4 Twisters. Either they'll be blown away by the end of this fight, or Lapis will, so let's cut to the chance as see who wins this match!

Move

Twister
Accuracy: 10D6 Dice + 1 Accuracy - 1 Pain - 4/5/6/7 Actions = 6/5/4/3D6 Dice
Damage: Same as last time
Effect: Known

Eevee is up for pets. The young Pokemon seems to like attention in general, much like her parents.

The only time you win at Tag against the twins or their Pokemon is when the hyper trainers run into something or someone!

The hostels are very cheap, not worth keeping track of. Their services are very minimal though - most people replace the coarse sheets with sleeping bags. The hostel has a kitchen, but doesn't provide meals. You have to cook your own.
They have coin-operated showers and laundry.
Mostly, the service they provide is social: There is music every night as explorers gather with their instruments! Those who are musically inclined, or their Pokemon, are welcome to join a jam session!
The folks behind the counter, and the other guests, are also likely to be knowledgeable about the area.

Everyone is open on Sunday because people need to buy things for the Cup on Monday!
You can trade Berries for another Berry of the same tier: common, uncommon, rare, or non-stat.
They have rarer fruits, like a type of orange that always tastes refreshingly cold no matter the weather, or gigantic watermelons that could fill up a Munchlax.
They have fresh herbs for cooking, and even live herbs you can plant.
They have a sort of fruit leather/fruit preserve made from fresh fruit, that maintains the incredible flavor of fresh fruit! This is a very difficult food to make, almost paradoxical, and it's a favorite of Safari Zone goers.
The most luxurious item of all is Chansey egg - just one hefty slice for cooking or eating costs $750. An entire egg is $3000! One slice will serve as a Full Heal, and an entire egg can cure even human diseases like the flu. This is not quite the same as a Lucky Egg, nor is it a Chansey Egg that would bear a Happiny/Chansey.

The outfitters sell camping gear, digging gear, guidebooks, rations, collapsible Bikes of several varieties, maps of the Safari Zone, Fishing Rods of all kinds, saddles, pepper spray, matches, drinks, Leaf Stone. All these items are available in Pokemon versions - you can get a little tent for your Pokemon, for example.
This place also sells Protein! One $20,000 Protein regimen (which is a big box of shakes or bars) will create a +1 Offense Surprise!

Shieldmaiden Brazen Round 5

Goodra uses a Super Potion. 10/13hp -1 pain
Milotic uses a Hyper Potion 16/26hp -1 pain.

Twister 1
(4)(4)(2)(5)(5)(6) Critical hit. Milotic is striking a little more effectively, knowing he's fighting a Dragon.
(5)(1)(2)(3)(6)(5) Goodra takes 4 dmg 6/13hp -2 pain
CD: (5)(2)

Outrage 1 - 4 actions
(5)(3)(3)(6)(5)(1) (5)(6) Back atcha!
(4)(1)(2)(2)(3)(6) (6) Milotic takes 3 dmg 13/26hp -2 pain

Twister 2
(6)(3)(2)(4)
(4)(1)(4)(2) Goodra takes 3 dmg 3/13hp -2 pain
Flinch: (6)(2)

Twister 3
(1)(2)(5)
(5)(4)(6)(4) Goodra faints! Too many super effective attacks in 12 seconds have really worn this Dragon out. Goodra's final Outrage simple beams right up into the sky, causing a crowd to gather around just in time to watch Goodra faint and for Brazen to throw you a salute!

Defeating those two Pokemon was worth 40XP! 20 to Michael and Lapis and Terra.

Random guy in crowd: "That quiet guy just beat Brazen! She fought off my entire family in a row."
"She once caught three Nidoking in one day in the Safari Zone, without losing a Pokemon."
"She could bench press a Slaking!"
"A town gets safer the moment Brazen walks in...who is this guy?"

She ignores them and focuses on qualifying what she's learned. "I think we're very similar trainers, Terra."

Smile.

"The biggest difference is our Pokemon's mass, so I may want to bulk up more. Both matchups were interesting - a Fighting type couldn't penetrate a Steel type's clever defenses and unusual typing, and a mighty Dragon - for such is Goodra - fell to a Water type's draconic moves. Goodra's big weakness is that it only has one type of move - offensive! There's no chance for a setup, like your competitive, coiling sea serpent. By the way, if you had used a Water move on Goodra, all status problems would have been healed."

"Klefki is an urban Pokemon. Very mischievous, with a big arsenal of pranks and status moves. Really, there was more Klefki could have set up, but I didn't want to neglect offense either. If your Michael had stayed out for another round after those Mach Punches...maybe."

Woad Round 5

"This Pokemon has no weaknesses. Your team is well chosen for battle. Sawk, you'll need to end this before it can build up any momentum. You know what to do."

Close Combat 1
(3)(3)(3)(6)(5)(3)
(4)(6)(3)(6)(6) Eelektrik takes 4 dmg 5/9hp -1 pain
-1 defense for Sawk

Coil 1
(4)(1)(5)(2)(2)
+1 def, acc, Str

Sawk is caught in the coils, but wades ever deeper to strike at Eelektrik's heart.

Close Combat 2
(5)(1)(2)(6)(4)
(5)(4)(3)(1) Eelektrik takes 2 dmg 3/9hp -2 pain

Spark 2
(6)(4)(2)(4)(5)(1)(4) Critical hit.
(5)(4)(5)(6)(3)(4) Sawk takes 5 dmg 3/8hp -2 pain

Close Combat 3
(1)(2) Miss!

That sure turned the tables! Woad is nodding approvingly.

Spark 3
(3)(3)(3)(6)(4)(4)
(4)(2)(6)(4) Sawk faints!

"Impressive!"

(That Coil should have reduced the damage of that last Close Combat since it's add +1 Defense)
Heart took great appreciation of Woad words. "Thank you. Your team is also very strong. I try to balance the strengths and weakness of my team, and Typhon I took a long training to unlock a great amount of his powers."

Heart return Typhon and his next Pokemon was Patrat. "This Patrat is special. He is a member of a Patrat Clan guide by a Leadership of a strong Watchog. He trust me to teach and unlock the power of this Patrat. He also have a special move a normal do not learn normally but he already knew. Bring your next pokemon and I show you."
