[Meta thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure : Celadon City Vandels

Hmm...So, I been thinking in buy the game CupHead in the Steam. It is wortly guys?

The game is (almost) entirely based around beating difficult bosses in a 2D platforming, gunner style.  I've hear some good things about it, and it looks good from what I've seen of it.  Art style's pretty unique due to its old timey cartoon look.

And there is also the no-boss levels who is very difficult. Not to mention the multiplayer who allow 2 people to play together controling CupHead and Mugman (I team Mugman). I think the only thing who left to make this game perfect would be a multiplayer online, then it would be perfect.

Guess I have my next game to buy to this vacations.

After thinking about it a bit more, I decided that I'd prefer to keep Lucy's chick female if possible.  Strength isn't as much of a factor for me if I think about it in terms of the pokemon's well being primarily, and I think it'd be sweet for Lucy to have potential mother and daughter interactions in the future.


...however, I am still technically open to going for the DoN, as the sweet, sweet irony of Reiner using one of the Elders' top secret and incredibly successful (to the point where they probably didn't even think it was possible for it to be THAT successful...) breeding projects against them fits incredibly well with both Taylor's backstory [for multiple reasons, as we both know, Windos.  And it's probably the IC reason why the 50/50 is even possible in the first place...] and Reiner's potential future plans (don't have any specifics ironed out yet, but changing Blackthorn for the better ain't gonna be easy, obviously), and would make a wonderful Plot Device.  I even have a really, really fitting theme for such a powerful Stormbringer picked out (one composed specifically to sound a bit like it'd be for an intense battle amongst stormclouds)...and I'll be a little sad if none of it comes to pass because of bad luck and/or reluctance, tbh...(I might still use the theme later anyways, but...it'd be more awesome/fitting if it accompanied an extra strong Stormbringer, if I'm being honest)

So I guess I'm still a little conflicted, tbh, but kinda leaning a little more towards going for it because it would the story so well if it happened...but the powerup might also not be entirely necessary for it to still fit, and botching it would mean a large probability of the important details changing in other, less desirable ways, so...hmmm...

Huh, didn't think the gender was all that important of an issue for you, but if you insist on Volchick being female, I'll make that concession . That'll require me to mod the 1D100 Roll if the DoN goes south, but at least the chick will be a chick no matter what.

Oh? Well, I'll do the DoN Roll, but only if you're absolutely sure about it. I don't want to go rolling dice on a idle answer and make us both miserable with the outcome, you know? On the bright side, there's always the chance you'd get the jackpot again even if you fail DoN, at which point I'll just give you Ultima Volchick (Working Name), as you beat the odds twice anyway, just on two different occasions. I'm that generous, at least!

I'll say that no matter what Volchick you get, they'll all better than the average dragonling of their species, so you can take assurance from that. The Roll just determine how much so, really.

My next game was going to be focused on Reiner actually going to Blackthorn to do whatever he needed to do there (Be it take it over, burn it to the ground, reform it, rejoin it, etc..), but I'll have to decide if that's actually going to be the case now due to the side affect of sidelining the Cursed Arms at your request, and the ripple effects that caused. That, and Reiner's mom outright said that B. was a keg of powder waiting to go off, and that radically changing the place was not going to end well, so your character has reasons to avoid the place besides 'If I get caught there, I'm most certainly fucked, along with my Pokemon.' Good thing I'll have plenty of time to figure out what is to be done, eh?

Your chara. has to put a pin in Team Rocket too in some manner, in order to prevent them from hounding him for being a bloody traitor/deserter or (if they don't find out he's alive) from attacking Blackthorn anyway because its still convenient to do so/out of some sense of tribute to him (The later reasoning being more of Petrel's and the Boss' [surprisingly]). That includes dealing with all the Rocket tech you have in some way, including the portable PC. Hm...maybe Porgon could help with that? 

Oh, then there's Valarie Malcom tonight, then Giratina's Head Priestess arriving sometime in the future, Angelica's fate when you have to leave Celadon, Emily.....

Man.....your chara. won't be catching a break anytime soon, eh?

Honestly, I concur with Spirit for the most part.  Describing raw emotion, particularly passionate ones, can be difficult without it coming across as cheesy (which I don't think this one did, tbh), and it's extra nice to see that Spirit's hard work towards redeeming Riza is finally paying off.

And for every definition that was listed, I couldn't help but think of various comparisons from both this campaign and elsewhere.  I'd list some of the ones I thought of, but it might be a thing best left to the imagination.  (though if ya really want me to do so, I could...)

Glad I actually took the time to wait, do some research, and THEN take the necessary time to craft that post, then. Just don't expect ALL my posts to be at that quality level consistently.....well, at least not yet, if I get really good at writing. Romance has always been something I've taken pains to get it right, but I wonder if that can take that skill and put it to proper use elsewhere....

...ya do know that Mew and Taylor would both 100% slap ya silly...if not outright attack you...for saying that in that particular way, right?

Mew would probably punch his lights out, and then Mega Kick him in the who haas, but Taylor would probably be stunned that Reiner, a man who's normally wooden and cold towards the opposite sex outside her and Pokemon, managed to attract the affections of so many women. Then she'd realize two of them were Gods, and probably go catatonic from shock until someone snapped her out of it, at which point she'd either go into panic or go 'fuck it!' and find someway to cope with the sheer absurdity that is her Reiner's love life with a devil may care attitude. After all, its not like you can tell Legendary/Mythical Pokemon 'Hey, fuck off, Reiner's mine and mine alone!' , especially to Giratina - the Goddess of the Underworld wouldn't take such lip from her well at ALL.

THEN Taylor would go and knee Arial in the who haas for saying that AND inflicting that emotional/relationship crisis on her. Followed by summoning Lucy to tase him with Thundershock, for good measure. Hell hath no fury like a woman's wrath indeed!

And also Reiner will have another ally to protect his back. Even if the adventures of my boy Arial ends, that doesnt mean mine will end too. He will reveal...in the meantime. He is a pretty impresive person, you gonna be surprised Dragonstrike. Windos and I have work on him for quite a lot of time.

Good thing Lucy dont have fourth wall abilities, or I would be may screwed. Not to mention Arial is very much allergic to thunder power. But I must confess I indeed curious to see her abilities in battle. The next adventure to Blackthorn promises to be a awesome adventure.

Wow. Its certainrly a beautiful game indeed this Thouhou Luna Nights. Even more with such iconic character such is Sakuya who can control time. And its art direction and music looks very much smooth. I may add to my collection one day. And I can certairly buy as a gift of christmas to you Windos! ZA WARUDO!

...well, now that the gender has been determined by the first roll at the very least, any further rolls are really only affecting the relative power levels from my understanding, so...(thanks, btw.  Makes me feel just a tad bit better about this.  Didn't care much about which gender the offspring was initially, and was fine with either, but I would like that to remain set at least now that we've rolled for it.)

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....50/50 shot...strong Volchik guaranteed if I keep it...maybe a super strong Volchik that is basically Plot Deviced, maybe not if I don't...hmmmmmm....

...alright, let's go for it.  You seem excited about the prospect of this, and I am rather curious/excited myself...I'm not getting my hopes up too much, though, despite being hopeful that things will turn out for the better despite being left to chance.  *takes a deep breath*

...yeah, there's a lot of loose ends still in this campaign, and it doesn't feel like there's enough time left to wrap them all up at times...how to properly handle the TR thing now and how to handle Blackthorn in the future are probably the things I'm still thinking the most about because they're the biggest potential problems and main plot points...and also very complex situations on top of that...

So yeah, nope, Reiner's definitely not gonna be able to take any kind of long, meaningful break any time soon.  Surprised you're only just now realizing that even though you've stated yourself that you like to make sure something interesting is always happening.  And ya certainly did a good job of making sure ya stayed true to that style, if I'm being entirely honest...

I do have a Steam account, yes.  I'm not big into PC gaming though, tbh. But there's still the occasional one I'll play, I suppose.  My entire Steam Library literally consists of a whopping 2 games: Undertale (which I still need to finish, thinking about it...) and Don't Starve Together (which I haven't played much because I haven't taken the time to learn its ins and outs).
