There is a tug on the rod, a series of pulls. A Wartortle arises from the water, pulling itself hand over hand along your superstrong fishing line. Any other rod would have snapped - this Wartortle looks extremely strong.
Bastiodon: (6)
Wartortle: (3) + 3 Dex + 3 Survival
Being the martial monk that he was, Terra knew instantly at first glance and by the sheer tension being put on his rod that this water turtle was decidely swol, and he conveyed as such to his ironclad dino.
"Bastiodon, be careful. Fighting very strong Water type. Steel type Moves will not work well! Might want to buff Defense, or bring them down quickly with Head Smash. Do your best."
Order: Since Bastiodon has no Loyalty but some Happiness towards Terra, and his species is generally not too disagreeable, my character is just going to shout advice and few suggestions for it to follow, if it wishes. If Bastiodon gets seriously battered, a Potion will be used (loses 3 HP or More). Let's see if Sturdy Tricera beats Torrent Tortoise!

Area 1: (5) No problem escaping Area 1
Area 6 aggression: (2). As expected, there'll be some challenges here.
Area 6 rarity: (3)(2)(3)(2)(3)(5)(4)(6) - 7 Safari Successes. That's really rare!
An oversized Yanma with extra pointy mouthparts, almost fangs, flies between you and a rustling patch of grass where you think you saw a flash of pink. Yeah, you were almost certain that was a Chansey...
Then you hear a voice coming from....a tree? The tree says "Excuse me, could you stand aside please? I'm chasing a rare Pokemon." Looking closely, you can see human eyes looking out from a knothole. There's a trainer hiding in that hollow tree! "Are you after that Chansey I just saw, if so, I'm sorry, but I can't comply with that." When the Yanma zooms in front of him, "Tch, Damn, another oversized bug to deal with. Go Hida, use Rock Slide followed by Ancient Power, but hold back if it would faint."
Rock Slide
Accuracy: Dex+Fight+Canalize-1-2 Actions= 9D6
Damage: Strength+3+STAB+SE
Notes: If it would one-shot, it's held back, 3CD to flinch
Ancient Power
Accuracy: Dex+Fight+Canalize-2 Actions= 9D6
Damage: Special+2+STAB+SE
Notes: Held back if it would faint the Yanma, 1CD to raise all stats.
Mechanics: as soon as the Yanma is dealt with, Spira will attempt to chase after the Chansey. He'll also catch the Yanma for contingency reasons once it's HP is at 1.

Rats. Oh well. At least Krabby isn't a Grass type like Ray was! Time for some status shenanigans!
Grid has 3 Actions and leads off with a Thunder Wave! Once he's landed that, he also uses Spider Web! And if he hits both, he can also use Screech.
Juliet also has 3 actions and starts with Telekinesis! Then follows it up with Hypnosis, then Confuse Ray after Krabby has been put to sleep!
If Krabby uses Guillotine, however, both pokemon are going to want to try and Evade it for obvious reasons!
As for Nathan, once Juliet and Grid are done attempting to inflict statuses on Krabby this Round, if Krabby is currently inflicted with 2 or more, he'll chuck a Safari Ball at it! (And a second if the Krabby has 5 or fewer dice to resist the seal strength 4 capture. Trying to be smart with my Safari Ball usage here!)

Safari Zone - Shiva 1
Taking antlers isn't poaching as long as you have a Gathering Permit (nor is it poaching in America! I find them all the time.)
In real life, antlers are shed in the dead of winter, but in the Safari Zone it's so temperate that they can fall off any time.
They are best found sticking up out of marshes or at the bases of trees.
Baashaun can be found in Areas 3-5 most commonly. There are some in Area 6, too, but usually evolved.
Aggression: (5) There are actually no big problems on your first shift. You do find a trainer of about Nathan's age who has bit off more than he could chew with Area 4. It's not that he's losing battles, it's just that he seems very lost, very unconfident, and just not good enough for the constant onslaught of Pokemon from the Safari Zone. He nervously asks you to show him the way out. He's forfeiting.
Rarity: (3)(3)(6) You aren't lucky enough to find a much-sought spring Sawsbuck antler, but you do find a shard of Stantler horn! It's about half of one antler and does not include the mysterious onyx orb "pupil".

Correct. Higher Area, more danger, more rarity. So Area 3 would be average.

Yanma Round 1
Hida: (5) +6 = 11
Yanma*: (3) + 5 Dex + 5 Survival = 13
Yanma's mouth opens impossibly wide, revealing an array of sharp fangs and an extensible mouth!! Yikes!!!
Super Fang 1 - boosted by Compoundeyes
(1)(5)(4)(3)(4)(3) (3)(3)
Hida takes 5 dmg 5/10hp -2 pain
Flame Body: (4)(2)(2)
Rock Slide 1
(5)(3)(4)(1)(6)(5) (4) critical hit.
9d6 -4 vit = 5d6+1
(2)(5)(1)(4)(4) Yanma takes 4 dmg 4/8hp -2 pain
Poison Fang 2
(3)(5)(2)(3)(6)(1)
(5)(3) Hida takes 1 dmg 4/10hp -2 pain
CD: (6)(1)(5)(6)(2) Hida was badly poisoned!
Hida summons the memories of a thousand years training on a volcano. He's holding back, his eyes closed as he reminisces.
(Btw, no Special stat in this game. We just use Strength).
Ancient Power 2
(2)(5)(4)(2)(4)(1) (4)
6d6 - 4 vit = 2d6
(5)(6) Yanma takes 2 dmg from the held back move. He's now at 2/8hp -2 pain
CD: (2)
Yanma turns to flee. You can try to get him to stay, or you can go right for the capture, or you can renew battle.
A woman also clambers out from a big hollow in the tree. She's GORGEOUS: tall, with long flowing hair down to her waist, a very fine jacket covered in mud, and pale blue slippers on her feet. The effect is a little spoiled by her backpack.
"I was pretty sure it was a Chansey too. I need that Chansey for my Gym. Roggenrola Serperior Scizor for who gets to catch it? Best of three?" She strikes her fist against her flat palm three times.

'All the time' - Dear heavens, that's some luck. :O It's proaching here where I dwell, the closest where it's not is Switzerland.
What does the Aggression Roll have to look like for me to get into biiiiiig trouble, out of curiosity?
I also forgot, Shiva will also look for the certain trees from which's bark baskets can be fold of (These mentioned here), don't quite know whether they go into Art of Useful Plants Category?
Shiva much much enjoys that part of a Stantler's horn - these deers always gave her a mysterious and elusive feeling. It's another neat thing for her collection that wanders soon into her wooden crate to her other treasure, later she can see what can be crafted out of it. Mentally though she curses a little as the most valuable part of a Stantler's antlers - the black orb/pupil - is gone already, as she believes in the lore of it containing psychic power.
She's also very up to help out the young Trainer and will explain + show (on the map) him the way back to the gate in all detail, if needed she'll also accompany him. Nope, no weird looks, scolding or anything that'd have a chance to make him feel bad, in fact Shiva can't help but to emphasize with him even. It faintly reminds her on herself back then when her journey has just started. Raphael even has come down to glide a bit beside him, radiating a pleasant and serene aura all them time.
"I'm sorry that the Cup ends for you in such a way', Shiva would soon carefully break the ice and silence, "But, it's better to decide to end things than overestimating yourself and your Pokemon. That's...well, at least what I think..." She fidgets in her hair a little to downplay own arising awkwardness before continuing in a calm and motherly voice. "Learn from it and try taking things a little slower next time, okay? For example by starting in Area 2 or 3 the next time instead of 4 right away and ramp up slowly, or visit the Zone before the Cup to get used to the surroundings and challenges it provides. Much safer that way! ^_^ Rare and strong Pokemon dwell in the deeper Levels indeed - but they're also much more aggressive, I was very lucky that my Pokemon took out a huge Scolipede without being poisoned. Your Pokemon alright though, do they need any aid?"
