[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
Iron could always retcon that so that Angela does capture Chansey, but I'm not sure if that's fair or not. Personally, I want Spira to get the pink nursemon, if only because they are such a valuable catch for him/anyone else that has one, but then again dealing with a pissed off Gym Leader with something to prove in the future ain't very good standings to be for the Ghost Breeder.....hmm.

The book says Yanma evolves after "contact with primal forces" Does that mean learning Ancient Power like in the games?

Not necessarily.  The book leaves the evolution methods fairly open to GM interpretation.

In the case of Iron's game, Ancient Power is not enough on its own to evolve Piloswine and Yanma.  'Primal Forces' instead refers to pokemon such as the Primal Altaria that's a physical incarnation of the South Wind (akin to Primal Groudon and Kyogre), the ancient forces deep in the Skull Ruins, etc.

In general, that means Yanma will evolve whenever (s)he comes into contact with a very powerful force from Creshire's ancient history.

I'm not sure if Ray the Primal Bulbasaur or Shiva's Primal Glaceon/eeveelution would be enough to trigger the evolution by themselves.

@Iron, did you account for Tauros having -2 Pain from taking 5 damage in Round 1 when doing that capture attempt?  (3 from Electroweb, 1 from Take Down Recoil, 1 from Confusion)  If you didn't, then Tauros has been captured, and Doduo is still at 4 HP (and possibly Confused). If -1 Pain had already been accounted for instead of -2, then Tauros isn't captured and Doduo is still at 1 HP and not Confused, but the Safari Ball didn't break.

In addition, Juliet's holding the Eviloite still, so if you didn't account for the +1 Defense, then she didn't take any damage. (and her Illusion is still intact if so)

And it's being a little nitpicky, but...my orders also technically said Nathan would throw a Safari Ball at Tauros after it had been Disabled by Solomon...my bad for the orders being confusing, but that would definitely prevent the Safari Ball from breaking (and definitely result in Tauros being captured if you only accounted for -1 Pain instead of -2)

My Primal Glaceon does know Ancient Power which means direct memories of earlier times, he's even very happy to use that move. I see potential that frequent usage of the move while Yanma's close - or if wanting to go that way, doing so in a battle between the two and let the Ancient Power hit Yanma directly - might at least help on the evolution. Up to try that at some point, @Mikaruge108? Maybe not too soon as Yanmega has huge Disobediance. :o

If GM deems it to be enough, sure. I'll definitely be waiting for max loyalty, though, considering that the Yanma is approx. twice it's normal size, I'd end up w/ a highly disobedient 12' monster bug, and I'd rather not have Spira become a meal.

Size is only relative to the pokemon's Base HP (if the pokemon's height in feet is greater than the evolution stage's minimum base HP), actually, and that Yanma wasn't Overgrown from what I can tell, either.  It's about the average size listed in the pokedex atm.  (which is 4 feet.  It'll be about 6 feet after evolving into Yanmega)

Still a very big bug, though. Even before evolving, it's still twice the size of Grid, a 2 foot tall spider.

I think the one you caught was the adult Kanga, Spirit, given that she knows Outrage and the other Safari Ball broke.

Already Spira has a Super Dragonfly and Cleric for the competition, and I think he still has a couple more Encounters left, so he's doing great so far!

How much is a Chansey worth in XP and Poke, though? Might be interested in trading for it later from Spira, if the price for it isn't too steep.

Ya know what makes it worse?

Spira also still has 2 encounters left iirc.

I counted that like 5 times. Think it might have been a typo rather than a miscount. Either way, Spira gets the Chansey.

Not by themselves, but if they demonstrated some kind of unusual power, it could count. I have one in mind for Primalsaur but not so much for Eevee.
