[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Mawile: (5)
Posei: (4)
Swarm: (2) Trubbish, Skorupi, Corsola, Budew, Spinarak

Poison Cluster Round 1

Vice Grip 1
(4)(5)(4)(4)(4)(3) (5)(1)(1) Critical hit
(3)(3)(5)(3)(6)(3) Trubbish A takes 2 dmg 4/6hp -1 pain

Hyper Voice 1
(6)(1)(5)(3)(6)(2) (6)
(3)(3)(2)(6)(5)(6) 3/5hp -1 pain
The loud attack rips into the swarm of poison creatures. It'll affect more than the usual number since they're all tightly packed together, but it will not hit Trubbish or Corsola.

The swarm is certainly awake now, and they begin launching a vast barrage of Poison Stings! About half the swarm will attack at once, hitting all opponents with their moves!

Poison Sting 1 on Posei
(6)(1)(3)(3)
(5)(1)(5)(5)
(3)(4)(4)(5)
(5)(5)(5)(2)
(3)(2)(4)(2) Hit 5 times!

(4) (6) (4) (5) (1) Posei and Terra take 4 dmg and becomes poisoned. Mawile ignores it of course. 7/11hp

Corsola uses Rock Blast, but the rocks are sharp and tipped with venom! 2 on Posei, 2 wasted on Mawile, 1 on Terra.

Rock Blast 1-5
(4)(3)(1)(2)(6)
(1)(3)(2)(4)
pointless
Pointless
(6)

(6) (5) (1) Posei takes 2 dmg 5/11hp -2 pain. Terra is unharmed, thanks to his steely skin.

The Trubbish cannot harm Mawile lol. They beat harmlessly on her steely jaws.

Vice Grip 2
(2)(2)(4)(3)(5)(5) (3)(1)
(3)(4)(5)(1) Trubbish A takes 2 dmg 2/6hp

Hyper Voice 2, held back
(5)(6)(2)(4)
(4)(5)(1)(6)(3)(5) The swarm takes 2 dmg and breaks up! Budew go floating away, Spinarak escape on gossamer threads, and the Skorupi swim as a floating raft of their own like army ants. Posei gets excited, because it's almost time to go look for that King's Rock he senses.

The swarm is dispersed before it can fire off one more barrage of poison. Corsola has already used all her actions - she's still gripping a rock in the stream. Mawile only used 2 actions so she's done too.

Hyper Voice 3
(2)(2)(4)
(4)(1)(3)(4) Corsola takes 2 dmg 6/8hp -1 pain
Must not be a rock type!

Poison Cluster Round 2

Vice Grip 1
(2)(2)(4)(5)(3)(3) (4)(4)(3)
(4)(2)(2)(6) Trubbish fainted!

Hyper Voice 1, held back
(4)(2)(5)(3)(5)
(6)(3)(4)(4) Corsola takes 2 dmg 4/8hp -2 pain

Safari Ball 1
(3)(2)(6)(1) v (2)(2)(1)(6)(1)
Gotcha! Delta Corsola was caught!
Water/Poison
0 loyalty, 1 happiness, 1 disobedience
Ability: Envenom. Rock type moves become Poison type and gain +1 damage dice.
Movelist is the same except Spike Cannon becomes Toxic Spikes.
Bubble, Ancient Power, Rock Blast, Power Gem

That was worth 16XP.

Posei dives into the stream and comes back with a special stone! It's a stoney crown with bits of grass growing from it at even intervals. There are tiny little lion faces engraved on it. Terra has no clue what this is, but it's not a King's Rock.

Getting nailed with a flurry of Poison Stings was a distinct and unplesant experience he'd hoped that he wouldn't experience again (He'd run afowl of a few swarms of Wurmple back in Hoen), especially when they managed to Poison him and Posei, but never the less he endured it with only a grunt and a stony scowl. He's almost literally tough Steel now, suffered much worse Damage than this in the past, and had plenty of Healing supplies on him, so for the most part he was unphased and unconcerned about the venomous vermin's viscousness. Save for the fact they were currently trying to kill/horribly maim him and his partners - he took especial offense to that.

Fortunately, the whole swarm was dispersed by his princely parnter in short order despite of his enfeebling injuries - for they were not going to forsake the precious treasure they found, so they would preserve and prevail! - his piercing pixie had handily taken care of the Trubbish - a thoroughly amusing activity for her, since they literally were helpless against her while she could toy with them as she pleased- and the strange and apparently Poisonous Corsola was captured remarkably easy, so everything was nicely resolved , more or less. Immediately afterwards, the sagely monk used two Antidotes on him and Posei to cure their Poisoning, follow by using a Super Potion on the frenetic froggy and some Energy Powder on himself to fully restore their HP! No matter how 'minor' they were, injuries were to be treated ASAP, and leaving Poison untreated was practically a death sentence for all but the most hearty and resilent, so first aid comes first!

Only after everyone (including himself) was treated and checked over die the mountain of a man relax and congratulate both his partners, before waving over Geo to signal all was fine and that he should come over.

"Great job, Posei, Mawile. Now those Poison Pokemon will not cause problems for awhile. *Nods* Will reward you two later for this. Promise."

While his amiable amphibian went off to dredge up that King's Rock he detect, Terra checked over the Delta Corsola he caught, and his eyebrows raised themselves in interest as he studied over their bio/Summery.

"Hm........interesting. Nathan and Heart might be interested too. *Nods* Will ask if one of them want to trade for it. If not, will decide if I keep or sell it later. Corsola very useful Pokemon , and being Water/Poison makes her more Bulky, but not sure if I need another Water type. Hm......"

(Dragonstrike, Spiritmon, if you want Delta Corsola, then make me an offer! If not, do you recommend I'd keep them or not? Kinda leaning both ways on them, tbh, so I need to think about it for awhile)

As for the now revealed faux regal rock, he puzzled over it for a bit before shrugging and gratefully accepting it from Posei, patting the frog on the head with a smile and dubbing the Item  'The Safari Crown' , then put it away into his Inventory. He may not know what it, but Posei indicated it was very special and important, and he went through the trouble of getting it, so he's taking it with him! Maybe his friends could help him identify it, or he could go back to Cress/Stair later to get it examined by a collector failing that.

Finally, he'll ask Geo if they are anymore troublesome/dangerous problem Pokemon/situations that need resolving in Area 6 (Preferably) or beyond, as he was 100% committed to exploring the most perilous parts of the Safari Zone to prove himself worthy to Duskull and give himself/his partners a good, fun challenge to toughen them all up. Let the Pain Train continue, choo choo!

If you participated in any Safari Shenanigans, you get 2 trainer XP per encounter, so 10XP! Terra, remind me about this at the end of your outfitter's excursion.

http://pokemonuranium.co/forum/showthrea...6#pid58156 - Brush up on the rules as helpfully summarized by Dragonstrike!

Sound off when you've arranged your party the way you want it! Freshly caught Safari Zone mons only! Each ball is scanned by the proctors before you enter. Your Pokedex can also read the specifics of the capture from the Safari Ball's data.

Let the tournament begin!: Grassland Groove (Section 1) - Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (figured I'd try something a little different with some DKC music this time.  Got a few more from the same game that I might use, too.  They're all from a world with savannah based levels!  Some are more tense than others, though.  DKC: TF doesn't pull any punches with the levels nor the soundtrack)

Well, to keep things short, since it was mentioned in the Meta Thread, presuming the traveling duo is okay with it, Gallade's Dull Premier Ball is temporarily handed to Belle and Tramp at some point during the preparation time so that Gallade can watch the tournament without indirectly interfering with Nathan's performance.  They did say they were sticking around until after this tournament, Gallade and Nathan definitely trust Belle and Tramp enough to do this, and Gallade would most certainly rather watch the tournament than be stuck in the PC, so that makes sense to me.  Plus, if something happens, he'll still be there to keep an eye on things and/or assist Nathan and everyone else.

So, Nathan's team for Round 1 of the tournament!  Out of the 11 pokemon Nathan's caught, the 6 he's going to start with will be...
Nathan's team for Round 1 ready, so let's get crackin'!

Great! Everyone seems pumped for the Safari Cup! It's traditional to see a lot of hard hitters and fast action. Plus, usually you can expect a few rampages and disqualifications and hilarious disobedience! Especially in the early rounds. The later rounds are winnowed down to the best trainers of the best.

Heart, you will be facing Bug Catcher Harvey - but he promises he doesn't exclusively use bugs.

Nathan, your opponent is an Ace Trainer named Renault. He just steeples his fingers at you when you meet, but he does look pretty strong under his cloak.

Spira is fighting a nervous Gentleman, Ennesby, who freely admits he didn't make it past Area 3. He may not have rare Pokemon but that doesn't necessarily mean they won't be strong.

Ooh boy.  What a way to start.  Nathan simply gives Renault a polite nod, and then gets his first Safari Ball ready to throw.

Well, since the first pokemon is always a blind pick on both sides, let's start with...
