[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

It is now Day 73.

It really feels like summer out today - Sunny Weather will be in effect all day. Teazel Valley is filled with people wandering around carrying giant Safari Zone pokedolls.

Awesome.  There are two other pokemon species I have in mind since they're kinda in line with what SPARE CHANGE's goals are: Absol and Dratini.  Nathan has his own objectives for both species, obviously, and if things go well with this group, maybe they'll be able to help out with those as well!

And there's also a third pokemon I think would work well on one of their shirts: a Male Combee.  Of course, I have Zippy specifically in mind for that one because he happens to be Undersized as well.

Those three plus D-Parasect should cover most of the bases of the goals the organization has.

Ooh, a sunny day.  Awesome.  I know who's going to enjoy that!  I'll be swapping Nathan's party around for sure!  (Though it might not necessarily stay like this the whole day)

So, encounter #1 for Nathan today is going to be another Drill Run tutoring session for Swiftfire.  Nathan tries to remember the last time he saw the move...hmmmm...when was that again...?

Oh yeah!  It was when he battled Dagny and Calam used Me First to clash with her Excadrill's Drill Run!  Calam's horn versus Excadrill's claws.  Maybe recalling how that went will help Nathan with teaching the move!

Drill Run Tutoring: 3 Ins + 5 Knw + 1 Move Tutoring = 9 D6
Current successes: 3/12

Zippy and Princess are gathering Honey again as well while this is going on.  That's another 4 units of Honey gathered if nothing of note happens.

Thats remind me: How it is the situation of D-Pikachu? Is he better than before after the nurse treat him? And he think about the shirt?

Also, after the matches have ended and Heart have a moment alone, he aproach at the place he meet the two family Kangaskan. He take their Pokeballs and release of them. "Like I have promised, you two a free to go. Sorry for the problems I make you two go. But now you are free." Heart both of Kangaskan Pokeballs and with his fire powers, he burn those Safari Balls, until it became only ashes. "You two should be careful though. The Safari Zone is filled with all kinds of Trainers who will try to capture you once again. But I will not bother any of you two ever again. Have a safe life."

Heart also take back the Silk Scarf and Razor Claw.

A Pikachu is a Pikachu! They like playing dress up and they bounce back quickly from injury. Not as keen on puns, though.

The Kangas bound off, free! Maybe they'll be more wary of trainers in the future.

There are actually a few trainers releasing their Pokemon after the Cup, mostly just common fodder like Nidos and Pidges.

Heart put a hand in his shoulder. "I can relate with that feeling Nats. In the little Cup Koa has lost to a Chansey. And back in that time, he was more obedient. We are in the same boat my friend. But dont let that depress you. There will better battles from now on. You have captured some cool Pokemon with you. Not only that but you have also captured a Delta Parasect and a Shiny Dratini. Talking about making me jealous, heh. Not that I can complain since I got a Delta Pikachu, a Exeggcute and a Gligar."

"The last its not that rare, but they have they use. I already have a Razor Claw, so I can have a fully evolved Gliscor, with is very much awesome. And Exeggcute have access to Sleep Powder. Not the most accurate move, but at least have better accuracy than Hypnosys. No offense Gallade, you are still the most awesome Telepathic fighter I ever know. Remind me to let Rose have a spar with you."

"Also, I migh need to buy a Flinch item too...that Razor Claw helped me quite a lot in Flinch foes with successive attacks like Heracross...want to help me with some info where I can buy one Nathan? You are the smart guy in Cheshire. I just the enciclopedia guy in Pokemon."

"I also pretty tired, so I might take tomorrow to take a full day of rest. After our many adventures, I didnt have a proper chance to sleep very much well. I also think in make some Berry Milkshake later before sleep. Is you and Gallade interested in drink too?"

"...maybe, but I was really hoping to do better than I did..."

Since it's semi on topic, Mizu's not really paying much attention to Heart either.  She gives him a curious glance much like the one she gave Spira, then goes back to minding her own business.

Gallade shrugs non-chalantly when Heart refers to him.  He has ways to make Hypnosis work.  When Heart mentions sparring with Rose, Gallade simply nods, but there's a hidden determination underneath that stoic facade.  Next time he and Rose meet on the battlefield, he'll be ready.

Nathan's response to Heart's ramblings about the pokemon he's caught and the Razor Fang: "...well, Exeggcute aren't exactly super rare either, to be honest...but yes, they do have some good debuffs.  If you're looking to evolve that Gligar but still have a similar hold item to use, I actually do know of a place where you might be able to get one without too much trouble..."

Nathan digs through his bag and eventually pulls out a fang of some kind to show to Heart.

"Genuine Houndoom Fang," he explains.  "Or, as the salesman called it at the Violet Tent in Cress, a 'Fang of Houndoom's Rage'.  If Orthros's fascination with it is any indication, though, it's definitely the real deal.  Cost me a pretty penny, though.  $2000 for one of 'em.  Same salesman also has Dragon Fangs for $4000 apiece, and Dragon Scales for $3000 each.  Pricey, but they're definitely what the salesman says they are...even if there are some little...embellishments concerning a few details here and there.  Anyways, as far as I can tell from my own usage of the item, it has the exact same effect as holding a Razor Fang or King's Rock."

As for the milkshake offer...Nathan takes a deep breath, then slowly lets it out.  "...yeah, that might actually be kinda nice if you have the materials on hand to make one.  We'll be in the Center later.  Got a lot of plans to make and notes to review...just don't put any Chesto Berries in it.  I'd rather not be up all night."

"...that's an...interesting choice of name to try and get the point across...it sounds like a helpful organization, though..."

Nathan thinks for a moment...looks at Gallade, who's also pondering something...

Gallade nods, and then Nathan turns back to Gene to do the same.

"...alright, you've got yourselves a deal.  Might even work more closely with ya guys on some things if this goes well.  If you really aim to do what ya say and help promote giving all pokemon a chance, then I'll have no qualms with backing ya.  I do have one request, though: could ya also potentially print some shirts with different pokemon pictured for me?  I wouldn't mind wearing ones with Delta Parasect on them, but some variety would be nice."

In the Safari Zone with the guide's help and your Pokemon's help, you don't encounter anything overnight. Before you sleep, Geo will ask if there are any nighttime or morning Pokemon you might want to chase - Venonat, Hoothoot, Girafarig, Oddish, Wobbuffet, Cubone. Bug types and reptiles are easier to avoid during these times too. If not, you'll be ready for your first encounter by 7am.

(To make things more quick, lets just say Heart make the milkshake and send to Gallade and Nathan. He also say something about get some money later to buy the Dragon Fang and the Houndoom Fang in the future.)

Heart was pretty much tired. After so many battles and travels though time and space, Heart finally, finally have a moment to have a well deserved rest.

Heart basically will not participate of the encounters in-game and it will instead focus in rest and recover the Will Points he spend though the adventure. Is this acceptable @Iron? That way too everyone will not be more delayed with Heart encounters.

Yep, you can earn one or two back like that. And you can still do any kind of easy thing - crafting, talking to people, even a training session.

Well, in that case just a quick training session. Since its a Sunny Day, its a perfect opportunity for Rose some of her Fire Moves. Heart also decide to let Netune and Gustav once again train together (since by now, they pratically buddy buddies in training session). Netune might see Gustav as a teacher upon this moment. "Alright then. Rose, you need to work a bit of your new fire moves, since despite having rest, you still need to get strong. Gustav, you still need to teach Netune about his Water Power side so he can become stronger. You was a Water/Groun once, so you may have experience with that."

After that training session Heart make a change on his team too:

Lairon, Meowth, D-Pineco, Ambipom, Hypno and Delta Geodude. And after that training session, Heart return to have a sleep.

Clauncher gets Canalize training. Let me invent a new rule here: if you're in unfavorable Weather, you can get +1 bonus XP on all training sessions, whether they get a roll or not. So Clauncher and Netune get that.
Doing this too frequently could make your Pokemon unHappy though.

Rose is already at max happiness so that's not real helpful for her.

After Nathan finishes the tutoring session with Swiftfire (they're soooooo close now!  Just one more good tutoring session oughta do it...guess remembering that Dagny's Excadrill used the move DID help), he sends a text to Spira (I'll just assume Nathan got Spira's number at an earlier point).  He'd been considering this since Spira first joined the party, but there hadn't been much opportunity to ask Spira this question until now.

Hey, Spira, would ya be up for a pokemon battle?  More practice is never a bad thing in my opinion, and I'd also like to see how you handle your pokemon first hand.

So that means Gustav get 8 XP correct? And Netune 1 XP? I sorry but I very confused. What is exactly the total of XP of Rose, Gustav and Netune? English it's not my native language.

After the training session with Toya, Spira feels his 'dex vibrate and sees the message from Nathan, he then shoots a message back.
