Oh. Oh well..... The two remaining threads of the Curious Cord is a frightening sight for Shiva, she mentally screeches in frustration as all the attacks of the Pokemon fail to do a thing. So close, SO CLOSE, why isn't it working, just why, WHAT TO DO...?? Yena appears to be particularly pissed off over the fact that he found something that his mighty yaws can't break, he snarls dangerously at the cord before leaping back to his alpha's side where he remains in a aggressive posture, ready to pounce.

The sound of the stairs unfolding cause her head to snap around and GLARE at the mass of Scimitars through the Smog/Smokescreen before she raises her voice; at first just a bit but the volume (and audible anger) increases as she speaks. "You... YOU... You seriously order us to let it be and give up? NO WAY we gonna do that, mark my words, you've gone too far this time, it's ENOUGH, go back to bed and cuddle and sleep with your gauntlets but we will NOT, your hear, N-O-T surrender!!!" (`⌒´メ) For a moment Shiva's suprised over herself, but the soft-loss of two Pokemon and being so close to make it must fuel her.

"Heart, please make a bit room for me, let us... Let us go for the last two threads TOGETHER!!" A small flash of silver is seen as Shiva draws something, it's the Sawsbuck Knife she has gotten for her Volunteer Ranger duties. She may not be able to summon flames like the PUNisher, nor has she herself received Jirachi's blessing, but her raw determination result in her boldly leaping forward! Yes, the closer she gets to this Curious Cord and to Heart himself the more she can feel the Earthpower flickering within the air, causing her to gain 1 point in that Speciality. (-6XP)

Mechanics:
Basically I'd like for Shiva to do the same thing Heart does, but instead using flames she'll use the Sawsbuck Knife. What's the Roll again, Insight + Fight + Earthpower, isn't it? Then it's 6+3+1 = 10d6 for my chara. If both my and Spirit's Roll succeed, the Curious Cord will snap within the next Round, we just have to hold on.

Blame me for not having the idea to work together earlier.

Heart was enraged for see those devil's coming in those Stairs and boss them around to surrender. As Heart rage begin to boiled he begin to speak. "You...kipnap inocent people. Kill inocent persons. And brainwashed Pokemon. And you expect us to surrender?" A burst of flames appear from Heart hands. "NO CHANCE IN HELL!" 

Heart was also decided to a chance to return Viktor to the Pokeball to summon Gustav once again. 

In case it actually begin a fight, Gustav will use Swords Dance then 4 Muddy Water. Kecleon will also spam 5 Sucker Punch's against those Scums. @Iron.

Heart was also surprised in see Shiva determination and her ask to assistance. But he nod his head and give room to her, at the same time he summoning his flames. "Heh, I agree Shiva. Let's destroy those Cords together!" He makes a pray to Moltres, asking the little baby for a little more assistance. "I promise you to make a big pyre to you when everything over Moltres. I promise."

Gallade holds up an arm as if he is going to shut a sliding door!  And if all goes well, that crate that closes the stairs is going to slide when he moves his arm again!

If those stairs remain open for any length of time, though, there's enough room on the stairs for maybe 8 or more Scims...can we fight that many each Round for 2 Rounds?

Maybe.

But if it gets to that point and closing the stairs on the Scims isn't an option, Nathan would rather use his last resort plan than risk trying to fight while vastly outnumbered: forming the Red Chain to call upon Mesprit for aid.  (I have something special to say if we end up using it, though, so I'd like to pause if we end up using this last resort)

Because he certainly is not leaving without his uncle and Keni.

If Gallade reaches -2 Pain or more, Nathan will use a Super Potion on him.

Porygon-Z also has orders to use Electrowebs (5 actions, of course) on groups of Scims to trip them up and slow them down if there are opportunities to use it.  Though if Electric moves prove ineffective, he's ordered to switch to using Psybeams instead.  With Download and Nasty Plot, Porygon-Z actually has 7* Str, and he should still be an Electric type (and have Agility and Defense Curl)...but does Download afford him any other advantages that might help him screw with the Scims' gauntlets instead of giving him +1 Str?

Of course, if any more of those attacks that might send characters to Sideways are used, attempt to Evade them (and that might also warrant using the Red Chain). And if the Scims start using Lethal moves, that probably also warrants using the Red Chain.

And finally, if we free Keni, use the Cress City Card to teleport the heck out of there!

Heart's Earthpower: (5)(5)(1)(6)(6)(2) (6)(6)

Heart and Moltres burn through one more thread, but Shiva's knife has no effect at all on the cord even when she optimizes her connection to Earthpower.

The Egg's light is fading a little, so you'll definitely have to give Moltres a nice pyre if you get out of this alive.

Even if Gallade rolls a 1, he's still faster than the Scims thanks to Sticky Web. So the crate goes shut right away!
(2)(1)(1)(6)(2)(5) (1)(5) The crate catches on a Scimitar and runs right over his toes. He hops away, swearing, as the stairs close. You can hear one commanding male voice in the back shouting for a crew of Scims to push it back into its proper position, but the rest of the Scims seem to be newer initiates. They're ignoring your bold statements, since they didn't really expect you to surrender now that they know who it is.

I'm just going to hit the highlights for this fight since it's all about how many Scims get through.

Every Scimitar that makes it through the trapdoor is felled. They don't seem to have particularly powerful Pokemon loaded into their gauntlets - those leaders will come in the next wave.

(3)(5)(4)(1)(6)(5) A tremendous rent instantly appears in the ceiling, laying bare the room! A few slow Scimitars fall in and are picked off by Muddy Water and Razor Leaf.

As the last attacks of the round fade, a hush goes over the Scimitars above.

There's a whir and a spark of electricity, then a face Nathan and Shiva have briefly seen before begins lowering itself into the rent through thin air. It's the same man responsible for the instant swamp from the early days of your adventure. You heard his compatriots refer to him as Cosh.

and WHAM! He's smacked with a Future Sight falling right where he ended up. He holds his Gauntlet up at the last minute to fend off the attack, but it's a buffed critical.

More Scimitars, leaping in from above, now that they no longer have to mess with the crate. They're leaping straight for trainers and Pokemon, Gauntlets solidifying and expanding for blunt attacks. There are twenty grunts able to attack you right now.

Oscar has run behind Gallade, completely terrified. He's a little amazed at how Nathan is handling this. Keni is still calm and has now gathered up just about all his materials, though a Scimitar has landed near him and grabbed his ankle.

Heart needs most of the round to burn through the final thread. The cord's ability to hold Keni doesn't seem much diminished despite the lost of most of its thickness.

Scimitars had only a 1/3 chance to go before Heart, and they hit it.

Shiva's terrified, scared and frustrated all at the same time as her attempts to cut that final thread of the Curious Cord results in nothing, she doesn't even manage to split a single fiber. "HEART, IT'S NOT WORKING!!", she screams out to him while still cutting with all her might, "I... I can't do anything, WHY can't I do anything, I CAN'T, IT'S POINTLESS, I FAILED !!!" This makes her want to tear her hair and she can't hold a sniffle back anymore. "I'm so sorry... So, so very sorry... *sob*" The face she's featuring at the realization of her loosing to a magical rope is that of a defeated and depleted woman, she takes a step aside. "Heart, please... Please take over that last thread, counting on you." A weak smile is gifted to him though. "Least I can do is grant you cover. Don't let us down now!" (There go my 6XP, lolz)

There's not much time for encouraging moments though as RAGE as cold as a Blizzard washed over Shiva as that guy who appears to be one of the leaders, that one going by 'Cosh' appears. She seems only little afraid and by no means amazed or intimidated by him. "Y-O-U!!!", she figuratively spits into his face, "You're the one not only responsible for that swamp, but also for that planned ruckus during Little Cup where you aimed TO KIDNAP me, AREN'T YOU???! YOU wanted to force information out of me that Dr. Hypericac entrusted me with to get to The Gauntlet before anyone can, DIDN'T YOU?! ANSWER ME if you're calling yourself a leader of those Earth Scimitars, YOU...!" She spares any names or insults though, but it's easily to see that Shiva hates him. She also wonders why every Scimitar Leader they've got the not-pleasure to meet so far is mean to their underlings.

Lilith and Tropius take a brave and battle-ready stance to mimic Shiva's state, they're only waiting for the word to leap into ACTION. The grassy sauropode looks like a vivid and green wall protecting Heart from anyone that wants to mess with him while Shiva is staying close to Keni. Oh, and she hasn't put that Sawsbuck Knife away yet, within a moment the poor Scimitar who thought it's been a good idea to grab Keni's ankle will find it stabbed into their hand. "Lilith, mess with Cosh's mind and give him a taste of you psychic powers including a suprise attack while you Tropius, MORE razorsharp leaves please!"

Mechanics: Eh, playing with the crates to close and open the stairs seems to not work anymore, so we'll go into attacks. Tropius is asked to cover Heart to enable him freeing Keni, the moment he (Tropius) suffers -2 Pain a Potion will patch him up. Shiva herself will free Keni from that Scimitar who grabbed him with the held of her knife as a Trainer Action.
