Anubi begins evolving, glowing with light as he does a victory lap! He increases in size and fitness, and becomes a lot more serious. He also learns Final Gambit!
Congratulations! Your Riolu evolved into Lucario!

The battle is worth 24 XP - that's 8 for Mizu, Gallade, and Anubi. Nathan gets 8XP, and Terra gets 6 because he was hanging back a little bit. (If you guys prefer to split that 7-7, go ahead).

Is it just me, or are you guys getting strong?

Yeah, we are getting kinda strong.  In fact, actually...

Nathan's Strength increases to 5 for 40 exp.  Seems like a good time for that to finally happen.

Now that there's time to actually slow down and appreciate some of the finer details, Nathan lets out a sigh of relief.  Once the thing with Anubi is all sorted out, Terra might notice that Mizu is sparkling.  He might not know what a Dratini is (or maybe he does. Not up to me, after all!), but Terra can probably recognize a Shiny from a mile away!

Gallade gives Anubi a courteous, respectful bow to thank him for his assistance, particularly since the dog-like pokemon evolved!  Lucario may be a Steel type, but Gallade has no reason to be nervous around this one, particularly because Lucario and Gallade are species with similar abilities.  They're almost cousins in a way!  They just use different methods to achieve the same results.  Whether its through Psychic abilities or reading auras, both Gallade and Lucario are highly empathetic pokemon.

Nathan breathes a sigh of relief.  "Phew...amazing job, guys.  Dedenne, you can come out now!  No need to worry about the giant rock snake squishing you now!  Hey, uh, Terra...you don't happen to have any pokemon able to inflict Paralysis on a Ground type on hand, do you?"

[Iron]

Duskull is obedient now, and so lays a Curse on Onix. That should also keep him asleep longer.

At camp he learned a little bit about playing with other Pokemon and humans, but he's a little confused because he doesn't think he's allowed to scare them.

That practically means that when Shiva will make her way towards the mines sooner or later, there's a good chance that she'll run into that presence...! She's excited about that, but 'powerful' does not automatically mean 'harmless', she has no idea WHAT is radiating this presence. Her inner voice asks her to be careful, which she agrees to.

Oh. Growing a bit sad over what she asked Cottonee to do, Shiva quickly pulls her dear fluffball into a tight and comforting hug. "You're right, my dearest one... I'm sorry. I've been too excited, I don't wish to possibly loose you after we're finally united again." She nuzzles her fluff to emphasize that it's really okay for her to be scared.

"Oh! But what about you, Pachirisu? You said you've met these hill dwellers already, so they SHOULD? be friendly towards you, I think. Please don't worry, me and my Psychic Types can always get you out of there." (Read: With channeled telekinetic forces from Lilith.)

As mentioned previously, Nathan gets a little nervous about Duskull being out, and Gallade eyes the Skull Ruins Ghost warily, ready to fight back if necessary.  Oce it's clear that Duskull is obedient, though, both of them relax a little.  Gallade sheathes his blades, though he's still staying close to Nathan to act as added protection should anything go awry.  It's mostly for Nathan's peace of mind, though.  If Dunny was up to no good, Gallade would probably be able to tell, so he's not particularly worried.

Mizu, however, has the exact opposite reaction.  She's eyeing the Ghost type curiously.  She's never met a Ghost type before, not counting the battle where Nathan used both her and Delta Parasect.  She has no reason to be afraid nor wary of the type as of right now.  She doesn't quite get why Nathan's acting so wary around a pokemon that seems...kinda sorta slightly friendly?

In any case, on to catching Onix!  It currently has a -6 penalty plus Curse, so let's see if we can catch it with two Great Balls to start with!

I like you a lot -" *kind and sweet smile* " -and enjoy your company. You're also super-sweet." She looks away shyly, but she's been being honest about her words.

As she embraces her dearest fluffball, the holographic and faint Sylveon Ribbons spread out from Cottonee as she herself is currently holding this Ribbon, they loosely wrap themselves around the pair as they waft off a calming aura full of love. Shiva herself gasps lightly - not because of this side-effect of the Ethereal Ribbon itself, but rather about what she could do with that...! "Cottonee... You stay here with me, safely in my arms, while you leave one of these ribbons go down a choosen crevice - how does THAT sound to you, doable, agreeable? You see, I'd like to see how these hill dwellers react to that..."

These ribbons are 'just' holographic, so they can't actually hold something. But what Shiva CAN do, is drop a Nanab Berry down the same crevice. Will she be able to hear munching sounds, or will she pick up rage or fear from these fairies?

You hear both munching sounds and also the sounds of a couple Pokemon investigating the ribbon. There are at least three down there. They seem curious, but you can't tell if they're hostile or not.

Is it just me, or are you guys getting strong?

Despite Onix being known throughout the world as being notoriously and ludicrously tanky opponents, the wild individual before them was absolutely demolished in no time flat by the combined efforts of his and Nathan's partners, which brings a small but notable smile to his face as he crossed his arms and nodded in satisfaction as it went down. Seeing such a feat preformed made him extremely proud of not only of Anubi and himself, but also his friends too, as it demonstratively proved once more that they were indeed brave and strong. All that all their hard work and the ordeals they suffered made them so, and if the ease of which they took down the stony snake was any indication, they had little to fear from now on. 

The Scimitars, Almanac.....The League Challenge, Skull Ruins, and The Millienium Comet......even those didn't seem as imposing anymore. He could tough them all out and come out on top, with his friends at his side.

'.......Wild Onix never stood a chance. Not against me, Anubi. Not against Nathan, Gallade, and.....little pink, maybe Shiny glittering snake. Alone or together. .....Heh. Everything will be alright. We will make it so. No matter what."

Just as he finished that though and was about to go over and congratulate his aural jackal and then everyone else on the excellent fight, they suddenly started to Evolve, causing the sagely monk to halt in his tracks in astonishment, before he rapidly whipped out his Pokedex and checked to see if they had learned Final Gambit. To see if he could allow them to reach their final, ultimate form yet. Seeing that they had at just that moment made him break out into an excited grin, and he put away his 'Dex and watched as his once fun, go getting little pup of a Rilou Anubi became the tall, imposing, and somewhat more disciplined:


Lucario.

Once they had finished their monumental transformation, Terra continued his march towards them, and as they turned to meet their partner with an mix of their newfound resoluteness and just a hint of their old playful exuberance and a much invigorated grin.....

.....the damascus doggie was wrapped up in a great big Ursaring hug, with him lifting them up by the waist and keeping his head and neck safely to the side of his partner's new chest spike.

"Anubi.....I am proud. Proud, and happy. Of the Strength you have gained. Of the challenges you have beaten. Of the great things you done. Of you. You have come far from being small puppy Rilou, and grown up to become big dog Lucario. And I am proud and happy I helped you become that. Thank you."

Daw.....

The blue bomber, though no longer a totally unruly tyke and having gained a Steadfast and more serious demeanor , was still able to able to be taken off guard by his partner's sudden show of affection and looked a tad bit embarrassed by it, but soon enough he looked down upon them with a sunny smile and thumped their back in solidarity. Yeah, you're right on that! He couldn't have made it this far without a mountain of a man lifting him up and being the foundation he could stand on and by. By himself, he was an alright Rilou, but without a Trainer he could faithfully and joyfully look up too, he could never have become an excellent Lucario. Thank you for being that Trainer, and for always being with him!

A minute or two passed before Terra lowered Anubi to the ground and ceased their hug, and held out a fist toward them.

"Let us continue to grow. Fiercer. Stronger. More. Alright?"

Anubi didn't hesitate in bumping his fist against his partner's, grinning wide and toothly as he nodded. Alright nothing, its a promise!!

With their promise made and/or renewed, both the sagely monk and the damascus doggie turn and walked over to congratulate Nathan/Gallade/Mizu for their own part in the blowout victory against Onix, with the former clasping the boy's shoulder, the later offered a fist bump to Gallade and a grateful nod to the Shiny serpent, and the both of them smiling

"Great job defeating Onix. Don't think you needed help, but I am happy to give it to you. Now.....what to with them. *Gives Nathan a curious glance* You want it? Can have Dunny Curse them to make it easier to catch."

Fastforward a bit, and the boulder colossus was successfully Caught, earning the young intellectual another shoulder clasp.

"Onix is your partner now. Know you will take good care of them. If need help with them, I will give it. Promise."

As for Dunny and everyone else, the intial tension and wariness to him by Nathan + Gallade left him feeling almost the same as they, earning them a mono-eyed and cautious stare from the ghastly ghoul,  but when the two lightened up he slowly started to unwinded to his usual passive attentiveness. Normally, he'd have been a more confidant and tried to instill a bit of terror/fearful respect in people, especially if it was a Psychic type or a fellow Ghost, but judging by the figurative and literal cut of the knight, doing so would have been an exceptionally poor idea. Much as he loved getting spooks and making himself superior, sometimes it was better to do naught but let his actions speak for themselves.

To Mizu, however, he was much less reserved towards, as once he caught her staring at him he decided to return the favor - by phasing out of existence for a moment, before appearing right before her, looming overhead like the dread specter he is! Despite what such a stunt may look like, though, it held no ill will of any kind. It was just Dunny's way of giving tit for tat....as well as gauging the pink python to see if they were of either superior or inferior quality of character....

Beyond all that, though, their's still MSC to be mined for Nathan's experiment! Terra is ready to dig some up for them, with or without Angie's help!

Hehehehehe.... 'Curious' already feels like a partial success, Shiva feels like she's getting closer/like having these fae 'on the hook' now, so to say. She's happy that they've accepted the Berry.

She lets Cottonee retract the holographic ribbons slowly and thanks her for the aid. "Alright, dearest one, please hand me the Ribbon... Ah yes, thank you. Now then..." She ties the Ethereal Ribbon tightly around her right writs, not 'tightly' in a way that it hurts but more in a way that the knot is secure and won't break. Then she slowly lets the real Ribbon sink down the same crevice... Feels a bit like fishing in a fancilike way.

While doing so she'll adress the hill dwellers, taking care to not speak too loud well as to let her voice sound honestly friendly+peaceful. "Hello, oh you mysterious, hill-dwelling fairies from the precious moon - here comes the real ribbon, the precious and rare Item that allows a Pokemon of mine that knows at least one move of fairy's glory grow these holographic accessories. It's mine and something I treasure, I've got more to show you... Is this a proof to you that faelike Pokemon have a special place in my heart? Are you...." She hesitates a moment before continuing, but it's now or maybe never, "...interested in seeing who this mysterious woman is that visited your location? I promise I won't fight or try to force one of you into a Pokeball IF you don't make me defend myself."

If they ask for more proof, then Shiva will tie the scintillating pink Angel's feather onto the Ethereal Ribbon to show them, emphasizing that this feather is 'origining' from someone very special...
