[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

The light within the crevices changes. Two of them begin glowing with a pale glow, while the rest actually grow darker and laced with shadows. Then pink forms start appearing in the mouths of the holes: Clefable who fill the entire thing perfectly, or smaller Clefairy, or a few tiny star-shaped Cleffa who have plenty of room within the narrow tunnels. Two Clefairy are carrying Moon Stones under one arm - each has a little hole drilled clear through it.

They stare to see this woman who is so obsessed with fairies.

Despite Onix being known throughout the world as being notoriously and ludicrously tanky opponents, the wild individual before them was absolutely demolished in no time flat by the combined efforts of his and Nathan's partners, which brings a small but notable smile to his face as he crossed his arms and nodded in satisfaction as it went down. Seeing such a feat preformed made him extremely proud of not only of Anubi and himself, but also his friends too, as it demonstratively proved once more that they were indeed brave and strong. All that all their hard work and the ordeals they suffered made them so, and if the ease of which they took down the stony snake was any indication, they had little to fear from now on. 

The Scimitars, Almanac.....The League Challenge, Skull Ruins, and The Millienium Comet......even those didn't seem as imposing anymore. He could tough them all out and come out on top, with his friends at his side.

'.......Wild Onix never stood a chance. Not against me, Anubi. Not against Nathan, Gallade, and.....little pink, maybe Shiny glittering snake. Alone or together. .....Heh. Everything will be alright. We will make it so. No matter what."

Just as he finished that though and was about to go over and congratulate his aural jackal and then everyone else on the excellent fight, they suddenly started to Evolve, causing the sagely monk to halt in his tracks in astonishment, before he rapidly whipped out his Pokedex and checked to see if they had learned Final Gambit. To see if he could allow them to reach their final, ultimate form yet. Seeing that they had at just that moment made him break out into an excited grin, and he put away his 'Dex and watched as his once fun, go getting little pup of a Rilou Anubi became the tall, imposing, and somewhat more disciplined:


Lucario.

Once they had finished their monumental transformation, Terra continued his march towards them, and as they turned to meet their partner with an mix of their newfound resoluteness and just a hint of their old playful exuberance and a much invigorated grin.....

.....the damascus doggie was wrapped up in a great big Ursaring hug, with him lifting them up by the waist and keeping his head and neck safely to the side of his partner's new chest spike.

"Anubi.....I am proud. Proud, and happy. Of the Strength you have gained. Of the challenges you have beaten. Of the great things you done. Of you. You have come far from being small puppy Rilou, and grown up to become big dog Lucario. And I am proud and happy I helped you become that. Thank you."

The blue bomber, though no longer a totally unruly tyke and having gained a Steadfast and more serious demeanor , was still able to able to be taken off guard by his partner's sudden show of affection and looked a tad bit embarrassed by it, but soon enough he looked down upon them with a sunny smile and thumped their back in solidarity. Yeah, you're right on that! He couldn't have made it this far without a mountain of a man lifting him up and being the foundation he could stand on and by. By himself, he was an alright Rilou, but without a Trainer he could faithfully and joyfully look up too, he could never have become an excellent Lucario. Thank you for being that Trainer, and for always being with him!

A minute or two passed before Terra lowered Anubi to the ground and ceased their hug, and held out a fist toward them.

"Let us continue to grow. Fiercer. Stronger. More. Alright?"

Anubi didn't hesitate in bumping his fist against his partner's, grinning wide and toothly as he nodded. Alright nothing, its a promise!!

With their promise made and/or renewed, both the sagely monk and the damascus doggie turn and walked over to congratulate Nathan/Gallade/Mizu for their own part in the blowout victory against Onix, with the former clasping the boy's shoulder, the later offered a fist bump to Gallade and a grateful nod to the Shiny serpent, and the both of them smiling

"Great job defeating Onix. Don't think you needed help, but I am happy to give it to you. Now.....what to with them. *Gives Nathan a curious glance* You want it? Can have Dunny Curse them to make it easier to catch."

Fastforward a bit, and the boulder colossus was successfully Caught, earning the young intellectual another shoulder clasp.

"Onix is your partner now. Know you will take good care of them. If need help with them, I will give it. Promise."

As for Dunny and everyone else, the intial tension and wariness to him by Nathan + Gallade left him feeling almost the same as they, earning them a mono-eyed and cautious stare from the ghastly ghoul,  but when the two lightened up he slowly started to unwinded to his usual passive attentiveness. Normally, he'd have been a more confidant and tried to instill a bit of terror/fearful respect in people, especially if it was a Psychic type or a fellow Ghost, but judging by the figurative and literal cut of the knight, doing so would have been an exceptionally poor idea. Much as he loved getting spooks and making himself superior, sometimes it was better to do naught but let his actions speak for themselves.

To Mizu, however, he was much less reserved towards, as once he caught her staring at him he decided to return the favor - by phasing out of existence for a moment, before appearing right before her, looming overhead like the dread specter he is! Despite what such a stunt may look like, though, it held no ill will of any kind. It was just Dunny's way of giving tit for tat....as well as gauging the pink python to see if they were of either superior or inferior quality of character....

Beyond all that, though, their's still MSC to be mined for Nathan's experiment! Terra is ready to dig some up for them, with or without Angie's help!

Gallade would return Anubi's fist bump, but he'd be extra careful to not touch that spike on the top of the Lucario's hand.  Both because it's steel, and it's also a pointy spike that you don't want to impale your hand on.

"...well, I suppose that means we can both add a 4th pokemon to our battle later, doesn't it?  Any changes to the conditions?  Nevermind, we can discuss that later.  We've still got some MSC to find.  There has to be a suitable amount somewhere in here..."

Mizu's not intimidated by Dunny at aaaaaalllll.  She just continues to staaaaarrrrre at him curiously when he totally-not-stealthily reappears right above her, her head tilted....before she happily closes her eyes and lets out a pleased sounding *zzzzzzssss*.  Dunny helped them with making sure that giant rock snake wasn't going to be a problem any more, so he's okay in her books!  Looks like he's made a good first impression!  Something that's hard to do for a Ghost given how superstitious most everyone native to Creshire is.

Terra just quietly nods back, as he was well aware of the stony snake's immense value and decidedly unfriendly nature.  As often was the case, the more powerful and unique a Pokemon was, the more difficult they are to handle, and their are hardly many more formidable than an fully grow Wild Onix. Still, he had faith in his friend capabilities to raise and bond with such a boulder behemoth if they choose to eventually (Or sell it if the trouble is just not worth it), so he'll leave it in their capable without further aplomb of fuss.

The blue bomber would be a bit perplexed with the psychic knight being fiddly with their fist bump at first......until he realizes why, and promptly face palms. Woops, forgot about that. Sorry there, comrade. He'll be more careful about his sharp new feature for now on, alright?

Speaking of which, he just unlocked the full potential of his Aura Sense! WOOT! Time to test it out and see it in action!

(AKA: What exactly does Lucario's Aura Sense detects [Broadly - People, Living Things, Items, Emotions, Misc. Stuff, etc..], and how easily can he communicate his findings with Terra? For starters, he'll try his Aura Sense out on Terra first, since he believes its only proper to do so in part, and mostly because he's curious to learn more about the stoic man that was his partner)

Already said my piece on MSC Mining, so moving on!

Dunny deflaits somewhat when he see the woman wyrm not only finds him unIntimidating but approachable, but in the end he puffs himself back up and nods back to them. Then, he conjuresa small, ethereal mini-flame in front of her......and make it shift into a hazy representation of a Goodra's head that's breathing fiery energy, before it shifts to Lapis Lazuli spitting out draconic power of his own, then back again and again and again etc, each time the image depicting a different action/moment!  Well, if the Shiny serpent was going to be friendly with him, the least he could do was share a story of a clash between the living gemstone and that strange slimy drake. Maybe seeing/'hearing' about her betters would rile her up and provoke a more interesting reaction than plain acceptance....

Contrary to Dunny's expectations, Mizu looks fascinated with the large 'dragons' that Dunny is depicting (even though she doesn't recognize what species they are, she can definitely recognize the Dragon attacks they're using).  It gets another happy *zzzzzsss* from her, and she spins around in delight, imitating the big 'dragon' serpent's Twister attack as best as she can!  Yup, she definitely likes this strange new pokemon!  She can't wait to be as strong as those other dragons are!  Thanks for the story!  And she definitely wouldn't mind hearing more in the future!

Nathan and Gallade both chuckle as they watch the scene.  Yup, it's definitely helping them loosen up, even if it's only just a little.

AAAAAAWWWWWWW, it's a blatant understatement to say that Shiva's incredibly awed that she managed to lure these shy and rare moony fae out of their comfort zone by having them show themselves to her. She just KNEW they were livin' down there, she was so sure, and here she's got the undenyable proof! She considers herself very lucky to be one of the few, FEW people to see wild Clefable and Clefairy. She has never visited Giant Chasm, too dangerous.

But now that the fairies actually are present, Shiva's getting a bit uncertain what to say; she appears to even shy away a little as they STARE at her.

She decides to start lightly and give herself friendly and honestly to them, her interest is hiiiiigh and all silently she's thrilled to bits. Doesn't matter whether they have some cute charm or not, she's already enraptured by them!~ "H...Hello! Haha, it's sweet that you appear, and I'm very grateful for that. Thank you!" She gifts them an excited smile. "Shiva is what they usually call me, members of the Fairy and Grass Type are my preference... You may not believe how many stories and tales I've been reading about your kind, theories that you origin from the moon." *again points up high into the sky* "I love this celestial body. May I...May I ask what you're doing with the stones containing its power?"

It's already amazing they know how to use drills appearantly. How cute!

For simplicity's sake, after Spira is through with the free Wonder Trades, he heads back to the group's camp.

The Aura sense will work much like Gallade's - it can detect the number and emotional state of presences, when actively used. It's still possible to be surprised if Lucario doesn't turn it on, and it turns off whenever he shifts his attention elsewhere.

The range is smaller than eyesight range. Maybe like a hundred feet.

They narrow their eyes at you when you ask about the Moon Stones, and one of the Clefable makes a shushing motion at the Clefairy.

This is a secret! The Moon Stones are hustled back underground, but even more fairies appear to replace them. One passes you a polished pebble of MSC and folds your hand around it.

They get a mischievous look in their eyes and attempt to communicate with you via a little shimmying dance. You know instantly what it means - they are inviting you to play?

Neat! Sound to me like Anubi is going to practice with his new Ability until he's aurall right with it!

Mining turned out to be an especially fruitful affair for the sagely monk. Whether it was in part due to his affinity for Steel and other metals, his hard, diligent, and thorough working of his section of the mine, or the help he recieved from Dunny and Angie (Ghost phase + Sight, and Angie's Dig!), he ended up with a huge haul of MSC, more than enough to bring a smile to his face as he wiped the sweat from his brow, planted his pickaxe to his side, and reviewed his newest inventory.

"Got lots of MSC. *Nods* Very good. Should be enough for Nathan's experiment. Hm....maybe end up having some.....left over for my plans. *Shakes head* Not important now. Time to meet back up with him."

That said, Terra packs up his stuff and goes to find the young intellectual at wherever he choose to dig at, and promptly + happily showed him how much MSC , before asking how they did with utmost innocence. He didn't know how much they got, after all, but given how smart and meticulous they are, they must have gotten plenty of valuable metals himself!
