[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Lurantis lets you go first (and lets you swap the Lucky Egg for Protectorizer, which is a Black Belt + evolution item)

These battles will go pretty quick when you aren't meeting the requirements.

Fake Out 1 - does no damage to Lurantis, though a critical will make her flinch if she doesn't evade.
(4)(6)(5)(1)(6)(4) (5)(6)
Totem Lurantis flinches!

Nasty Plot 1
+2 Str for Anubi

Rock Smash 2
It does nothing - the powerful secret move makes the earth grumble around Lurantis, but the Totem Pokemon is entirely unscathed.

Blaze Kick 2
(5)(3)(5)(4)(3)(3)
Blaze Kick is a super effective attack, so it makes Lurantis instinctively rear back and take 1 dmg.

Lurantis looks at Terra pityingly and raises her arms and wings to summon a barrage of pink leaves.

Plot Device Razor Leaf 2
Shiranui and Anubi take 1 plot device damage, reducing them to 1hp. They'll take 1 point of Lethal Damage after 1 hour if not treated.

Now, there's the question of where Terra is standing. By rights he should take this AoE damage too. If Lurantis gets the idea that Terra considers this a Pokemon-only battle, Lurantis will aim away from him.

Blaze Kick 3
(4)(6) Lurantis takes 1 dmg. If it comes to a roll, Lurantis will have -1 pain.
The Protectorizer doesn't make a difference, but items can be a Plot Device criterion.

Plot Device Razor Leaf 3
Shiranui and Anubi take another point of Plot Device Damage. They faint and take 1 point of lethal damage. Terra senses that Lurantis has to draw from stored power in the Grove to achieve this legendary level of strength, though she's pretty close without it. She's not in the same league as Deoxys, whom you saw earlier.

"Mortals who are outclassed by a powerful Pokemon need to know some of the Pokemon's secrets to stand a chance against them. Numbers can help, too. The Four Treasures are an example of such a secret. You can imagine you will have to use the Treasures in some way if you want to have a hope of hurting or delaying the Invader. It's possible to dodge an immortal's attacks, but it's far harder than normal." (You need a critical Evasion).

"Continue if you dare!"

Oh, and expend (at least) one Super Potion and I'll tell you how that interacts with Plot Device Damage. It heals their HP, but it doesn't heal the PDD, so they still faint on the second instance of incurring PDD. A Max Potion can heal one point of PDD.

To the vibrant insect's pitying gaze, Terra returns it with his own filled with simple, calm, and unwavering determination. Impossible and futile as it may seem, he and his partners would not give up nor let his opponent cow and condescend him. He was proving something with this fight, and his Will would remain unshaken.

He does give her a small nod of thanks as she aim away her impossibly sharp Razor Leaves from him, though. He wouldn't have terribly minded if she included him in her targets (as he did request her to be unfettered), but he couldn't really command his partners in battle if his consciousness was cut short, so it was for the best. For now, it will be a battle solely between Pokemon.

Additionally, he was taking mental notes about how the fight was going so far. It seemed they could be Flinched if the blow hit the right spot, and even the legendary HM Moves were ineffective against it. Super Effective attacks worked just fine, though, or at least Fire. His Super Potion (Yes, he did use it, on Anubi) didn't seem entirely potent, as his partners still got taken down in short order. Perhaps the Damage she deals is more potent, somehow? Is from the energy coming from the grove? Hmm....in that case....

When Terra's partners fall, he just returns them quietly, and give a polite nod as the Pink 'n Powerful Plant lectures him, taking in their advice without any offense on his part.

"Okay. *Beat* What's you're Secret? To your power?"

Hey, why not ask? If he gets an answer, great, and if not, then he's no worse off than before. Nothing to lose, and everything to gain, eh?

In response to their challenge, he pulls off two more Pokeballs from his belt and tosses them out, summoning Tommy the Meowth and Angie the Duneseraph, and boldly recrosses his arms, and gravely deadpans thus: "I do."

He then wastes no time giving out commands!

"Tommy, hit Lurantis fast, and try to cut into its feet. Angie, speed up if you can, and make the Sky Fall on her."

Orders: Pretty simple here: Tommy will use Fake Out, then attempt to do some Damage/effect by using Slash on Lurantis' feet twice, in the hopes of disrupting her connection to the grove in some capacity. Angie will use Agility if Tommy succeeds in Flinching Lurantis OR if they Dodge it (To avoid being Flinched), and then she'll use Sky Fall on them 3 Times; otherwise, just use four Sky Falls. Due to the nature of the Move, I want to know if it can also be used to lift up Lurantis up off the ground or push them away from the grove (their source of power), or at least disrupt it. Also, due to Angie being a Dragon/Flying type that is both immensely bulky and sorta legendary in her own right, would that insult her from their Grass type Plot Deviced Damage? Finally, a Max Potion will be used on Angie if she's brought to 1/2 HP or 1 HP , as I want to see how that would interact with both PD Damage + Damage.

Moves:

Tommy: 3 Actions - Fake Out and Slash X2
Angie: 4 Actions - Agility, Sky Fall X3 OR Sky Fall X4 (At least 1 Damage if it Hits, if SE Damage for Flying Moves still work, and *5D6 Chance to Paralyze [if she can be]; Angie's also holding a Sharp Beak, if that matters)
Dice Pools: Athletics (Agility, 8D6 [Raising Athletics by 1 for 6 XP!]), Brawl, Channel (If it applies to Sky Fall; 10D6)

Fake Out 1
(6)(3)(2)(6)(5)(1) (1)(2)(1)

This time Lurantis sees it coming and grabs Meowth's wrist.

Agility 1
(2)(5)(1)(2)(3)
This works as normal - + 2 Dex for Angie.

Plot Device Night Slash 1 on Angie.
It seems fair that a mortal Pokemon so much larger than the Plot Device Pokemon in question could take another hit. If you're fighting Kyogre it wouldn't matter, but for Lurantis who is only like 10' and 250lbs you can be insulated against the PDD.
Angie takes 1 PDD, instantly reaching 1/2 hp. The Max Potion heals her up to full health and makes it look like the PDD didn't even happen.

Slash 2
Does nothing even on a crit

Sky Fall 2
(4)(1)(6)(5)(4)(2) (6)(6)(3) Critical. Angie DOES manage to lift Lurantis away from the grove and descend with her to another battlefield. Lurantis' colorful regrowth does seem slowed.
Lurantis takes 1 dmg
CD: (6)(2)(4)(2)(6) Lurantis was paralyzed. The crit helped.

The paralysis visibly slows Lurantis, but since she doesn't roll for her moves it doesn't make an immediate difference.

Plot Device Slash 2
Angie takes 1 PDD, again dropping to 1/2 hp. This time, she doesn't take any lethal damage - must be the Grove's absence.

Sky Fall 3
(6)(3)(3)(6)(4)(4)
Lurantis takes a 4th point of dmg, still hasn't reached -2 pain.

Plot Deviced Razor Leaf 3
Meowth and Dunseraph are reduced to 1hp - again, no lethal damage.

Sky Fall 4
(5)(1)(3)(1) Angie misses, being in great pain from taking 2 (or really 3) hits from a Legendary-strength Pokemon. No one else could have done that and stayed conscious!

Plot Deviced Razor Leaf 4
Meowth and Dunseraph faint.

(Dully noted! I was just concerned with Grass type PD Damage, but its nice to know that Terra's snake is bulky enough to survive their other Moves for a little while! At least that means Deoxys will have to try a bit harder in KOing/Killing Angie and Lapis!)

Her latest response (which I imagine was given in an enigmatic and/or dry tone), get another nod from the sagely monk......before a look of confusion crosses his face.

"......How do you live for so long? Legends are special, but you are not one of them. .....I think. Not sure, with you. *Beat* Could I live long like you?"

Terra's tone is equal parts befuddled and curious, as he very much does find Primal Lurantis' existence to be an extreme novelty that begs the question like a Pidgy does for birdseed! Someone's got to ask, right?

As his supreme seraphic serpent and his scrappy kitten are laid low, his expression firms up for a moment, before it loosens up, lets out a small *Sigh* of acceptance and returns his partners, and then falls to one knee in a pose similar to Gallade's as he bows his head in defeat.

"I yield. Good fight. Still have way to go, before I can beat a Legend. But. ....But I did well, and I am getting closer. Thank you, Lurantis."

He then (With their permission), he gets off the ground and approaches them to offer 4 Sitrus Berries as their prize for victory. He lost fair and square, so to the victor goes the spoils.

(I imagine that SE Plot Device Damage would Instant KO/Kill Lapis, and he doesn't have any SE Moves of his own, so gonna call it quits early. All in all, that was a nice fight! Learnt a lot from it, and I did pretty well against Lurantis all things considering. Thank you for humoring my request, Iron!)

SE Plot Device Damage is one stage farther. So someone like Politoed would be KO'd in one hit and killed in two. Lapis can stay conscious for one hit due to her size, then would die on the next hit.

0: Half hp, only insanely bulky Pokemon eligible
1: Down to 1hp
2: 0 hp and 1 lethal damage
3: Dead

The little Fomantis swarm over the berries and bring them back to the Sacred Grove.

Nathan treats the Lethal damage, which goes very well while the Pokemon have contact with the soil of the Sacred Grove.

Your journey concludes while watching the legendary sunsets of Elanor Town, the last part of Creshire to see the sinking sun. Their legends say it retires each night to the mines, where it leaves some of its light underground for us to find.

It's pretty late when you reach Elanor after that Encounter. Though the sky is dark, you can see lots of stars... and one bright comet, bright as the moon.

The residents of Elanor have each taken tiny shards of Petalglass and other elemental glasses and secured them over their doorways, so the town glitters even at night. The Pokemon Center is decorated with a mosaic of Fireglass, and the little PokeMart is decorated with seaglass. The center of the PokeMart Pokeball symbol, though, is a radiant Sunstone.

Over tonight's Pyre, the Beldum Egg hatches! Gotcha! Beldum was caught!

And in the morning, Minicorn and Flabebe hatch and instantly spring to the windowsill of Shiva's chamber to gaze out upon Elanor!
Gotcha! Minicorn was caught!
Gotcha! Flabebe was caught!

It is now Day 77

Elanor is a quaint little town, with its own distinct architectural style. There are lots of gables and turrets and terraces, windows that open wide and rooftops lined with gardens. The little yellow flowers grow in each rich green yard, and all motor vehicles are required to detour north of Elanor (where the mines are).

Sunstones are available for purchase here!!! They cost $3000.
Sunny Day TM is available for $2000, and Solar Beam is $3500.
There are also Move Tutors available!

You can also tour the mines, which are always hiring. There's also a tiny Pokeball factory, served by all the MSC around here. Both are hidden behind a screen of dense trees and bushes, blocking the noise and visuals.

Battles aren't super common here, and most trainers are very practical. They don't go in for the sport much, but the mines and the wilderness require a certain amount of protection.

Dagny texts to say the permit will be ready tomorrow. She'll send it to Nathan's PC.

Heart was someway busy making the pyre of Moltres along with Rose on his side. While he was doing that, he could hear a sound of a egg cracking. He almost think it was Moltres Egg, but then he turn his neck and see Beldum Egg hatching! He and Rose quick approach and then the egg shatter and the young Beldum come out of its egg! The little Beldum look around the place he born, until he gaze his eyes towards Heart. He float a bit, bringing some little stones with him and then he stop foward his "dad" closing his eye in happiness!

[Image: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR2zzhCjr-UhsOg6MQTKgl...BqPfYtNG6g]

Heart was speechless for a few seconds, until some tears begin to roll in his eyes. Tears of happiness! He hug the little Beldum and spin around in happiness. "It hatch! Finally you come to this world my child! Welcome to the world little one!"

Heart then laugh and sing in big content and happiness (problably waking the others in the process). He continue to hug his little son (despite full well knowing Beldum dont have gender). "Be welcome to the world Beldum. I am your father, Heart. I so much happy to finally meet you my son!"

Is this a normal Beldum or a shiny one @Iron? Or have other moves beside Takedown? After such long adventure in protecting and hatching the Egg since the very begining of the adventure, it might come something cool. Pretty please?

In the begining of the next day, when they finally reach Eleanor, Heart decided to take a look in those Move Tutor and see what moves they have availabe.

(Our battle will come soon @Mikaruge108, just wait a bit)

++ Small Flashback to the Glorious Grove, mostly because you asked for it, @Lord Windos. Enjoy~ ++

(I like how you described Shiva as [quote] '(...)a top class breeder and the most loving and empathetic woman he'd ever meet that could befriend any Pokemon if she barely tried(...)' [quote ends] without forgetting about her flaws ^^)

As Terra steps forward and asks the noble Primal Lurantis for a FIGHT of all things, Shiva almost fell off Tropius' back (almost) in suprise. Instantly her head snaps towards the mountain of a man as she gives him a long STAAAAARE full of startle, suprise, and , well, even shock, it's a miracle how her neck didn't break from such a sudden movement and how her look doesn't turn Terra into stone.

Her face seems frozen in a frightened expression, and she seems half-willing to jump in and ask him whether he REALLY wishes to do that, as it's obvious that the chance to win are near zero. Yes, she doesn't - she doesn't intervene due to Terra's words of how he desires to 'see if he can perform his duty to his friends in the future'. These words thaw her and all faintly make her smile, it's very neat to hear how serious he is about his given task, SO serious that he's even willing to challenge this noble gaurdian of the grove.

It's also a pleasant sight for her how Primal Lurantis doesn't give Themselves opposed of the idea even!~ Shiva shyly coughs and makes haste to approach Terra and the orchid mantis. "Ehm, is it alright for you two if I watch your fight? Please? I, well would like to witness your strength oh noble Mantis, and see how you handle it, Terra. Maybe I can learn something even!" Assuming they agree, Shiva and all her Grass Types will serve as audience, there's lots of 'ooooohhh'ing and 'awwww'ing from her at the display of the Plot Deviced Moves.

Once the friendly fight concludes, she claps for both challengers. For Primal Lurantis, Shiva gives a deep full-body bow. "Allow me to express how amazed I am over your power, you are surely something very special. I'm happy that this grove has you as its caretaker and leader." For Terra, Shiva has a good pat onto his shoulder. "That was a very brave action of yours, you did so well! I'm sorry that you lost... But, you can be proud of yourself for even trying in the first place."

*Flashback!*

Nathan just quietly sighs when Terra challenges Lurantis.  He doesn't have much to say about the challenge, just watches it from the sidelines.

He does make sure to treat that Lethal damage before leaving the grove, because they don't need any questions from Nurse Joy about why the heck two-thirds of Terra's team are suffering from mortal wounds.

"...do you better understand what we're up against now, Terra?  Legends aren't pokemon that you can just challenge and expect to beat.  They don't all have the same weaknesses, and defeating them 1 on 1 is incredibly difficult, if not outright impossible, and they can easily KO and kill most pokemon in only a few hits.  You can't protect anyone if you're dead.  That goes for you and your brave and loyal pokemon.  Please don't put yourselves in unnecessary danger, alright? Your lives are just as valuable as anyone else's is." (@Lord Windos)

---------------------------------------

Now then, moving on to Elanor!  First off, music!  I had one in mind, and Mika had one in mind.

Elanor:
 - Shaymin Village - Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky
 - Serene Village - Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon

Nathan's got a few things to check off the list here...he's got to run that experiment with Dedenne, he's got a phone call to make, he needs to meet with Angela, there's a Gym in the town, he needs to get enough funds to get a Solar Beam TM or two for some of his pokemon...phew, it's going to be a busy day for him.  And that's not even including any battles with Terra or the others that have been planned.  (nor the trade that we still need to do for that Thunder TM, @Spiritmon. Need to do that as well)

Well, I suppose the first thing that Nathan would do is get Emolga, Dedenne, Ditto (who's random transformation for the day is a Keen Eye Sableye), and Grid and run those experiments with the MSC with them!

- Nathan would first just give Dedenne a piece of MSC and ask her to use Eerie Impulse+, see if a single piece might affect the move's potency in any way.

- Then he'd probably arrange multiple pieces of MSC in front of Dedenne and ask her to use Eerie Impulse+ again, see if having a LOT of MSC might be more potent.

- He'd probably also have Grid connect a bunch of the MSC together with Electroweb, then ask Dedenne to use Eerie Impulse+.  Maybe directly connecting the pieces with a semi-conductive material would make the effect of Dedenne's electromagnetic abilities even more potent.

- He'd also ask Ditto to Transform into Dedenne again so that they can properly test what might happen if there's two Dedenne using Eerie Impulse+.

- There's also the matter of having Dedenne/Ditto use Charge before using Eerie Impulse+ in the above scenarios.  Would that affect the potency of the move at all even though it does no damage?

- Emolga's mostly here to observe, but can fly off to go get help if needed.

- End Goal: try to find some method that positively affects the potency of Dedenne's Eerie Impulse+, and hopefully it's enough to convince Dedenne to join on a more permanent basis.

Hopefully none of these experiments fry any of the nearby electronics...would these experiments and/or meeting with Angela take up any encounter slots, @Iron?

Also, different topic, but when you say Move Tutors are in Elanor, what kinds of moves are available, Iron?
