You find Angela beneath a tree, her Wigglytuff Headbutting it while her Snubbull attacks the Spinarak that fall out.

Nathan watches Angela train against that Spinarak for a bit, waiting until she finishes before making his presence known.  Given that it's just a Spinarak, it probably doesn't take long for Angela to finish with it.

"Nice to see you again, Angela.  Here for that secret ya promised me.  Oh, and thanks again for the help the other day.  Mr. Mime doing okay?"

Did we ever resolve Mr. Mime? Terra was interested in it for a time.


"Ooo, hello Nathan! You'll need a Fairy Type to use it, and you can't tell anyone I don't like. Actually, Gallade will work... I think. We can try it. Follow me!"

You follow her through thorns, vines, and over a log fallen across a river, to another little grove with a small Dragon Fig. 

"See this plant? It's a Dragon Fig. There's another one in the Nature Preserve. See this diamond symbol on it? That's a Mamo rune. If you get a Pokemon to empower it with Earthpower, usually a Fairy type or a Psychic type, the tree will glow and you can step right through into the heart of the Nature Preserve. It's super useful. Oh, and you can come back again the same way. It works whenever the sun or the moon is shining. I use it to get between some of my favorite training spots. Remember, it's a secret."

That headcanon makes sense to me! The Potion Orchid is a purplish blue color, and it is there Flabebe will take up residence!

She'll also make herself a tiny hat using the rose petal.

Not really, no.  I just kinda assumed that Angela was taking care of him for now, to be honest.  Given that Mr. Mime is still registered to an Almanac Conditional Ball, he would have to be deregistered before Nathan, Terra, Angela, or anyone else could take him in, right?  (could be legally messy if not done carefully though...)

"Interesting...that definitely explains a few things...Gallade might be able to do it, yeah, but I think I have a pokemon that'd have an easier time pulling it off.  Let me share a secret of my own with ya:  I've actually got a Fairy type out right now, hehe.  Calam, shall we give it a shot with your Moonlight?"

Angela's eyes go wide as saucers as a Dark type uses a Fairy move and charges up the rune. Soon the whole tree is glowing. 

"Y...you can just step right through anywhere, as if the tree is a door. But... b... what is going on with that Absol, and how do I get one?"

Nathan, Calam, and Gallade all chuckle simultaneously.  "I'm afraid Calam's one of a kind, Angela.  It's not every day that wishes are granted.  Of course, with the Millennium Comet in the sky, some would say it is the season for that to happen..."

Awwww. Shiva lets Azu put the rest of the red rose behind her ear, and while doing so she suprises her sweet Master with a new and shiny 50$ coin - what a nice way to start the day. ^^♡


While I'm waiting anyway, how about Shiva approaching some of these Move Tutors? She'd do so anyway at some point, and I guess it doesn't take an Encounter.

The first one she'll carefully introduce herself to is Sid, if she gets a chance to stop him while skating around at full and graceful speed that is. "H-hello! My name is, eh, Shiva, and I'm a Trainer, Breeder-in-making and aspriring Move Tutor myself. I heard that you are offering your skill for free, that's very benelovent!~ Say, could you please help out my Azumarill here to learn how to cloak herself in water and then DASH forward at full speed to slam into the foe? Come on, Azu, that's a useful power for you to have!~"


Humm, Iron, we agreed at some point that my Alola Vulpix can learn Ember for 17XP as a suprise move, reasoned by my thought that in every regional variant a certain amount of genes are the same like in the original Pokemon. That means, is Shiva allowed to approach Fire Breather Bel with her white fox to have them teach her how to spit small flames for free? Would they agree to try tutoring an Ice Type in a Fire move at all, is Vulpix interested in learing a move she usually could never master?

Sid tosses Azumarill a pair of rollerblades. They resize themselves to fit on the Pokemon in a flash of data. The two go skating off at higher and higher speed and just when you stop being able to see them, Azumarill starts leaving a wet trail.

They return to you. "Ok, Azumarill! Use Aquajet, on me!" Azumarill giggles and complies, attacking very quickly as Sid slides out of the way.

"Good job. You're ready! That was fun!"



Bel: "I would absolutely love to tutor an Ice Type to use a Fire move! That would be a great party trick. I'm in favor of spreading the craft of firebreathing as far and wide as possible. This will be my first ice type! Hoo-rah!"

Bel teaches Alolan Vulpix some of his techniques, enough for her to cough up a small flame usable in battle.

You step through the tree and find yourself, with Angela and Wigglytuff and a comatose Spinarak she's holding, in a boggy portion of the Nature Preserve. A bunch of Gloom waddle up, sniffing around for any traces of Sunstone dust. Angela throws the Spinarak at them. "Hey, if you buggers are going to evolve you're going to become Vileplume, alright? We don't want this place turning into sugary sweet Elanor 2."

Behind you is a similar Dragon Fig with a dull rune on it. Angela sees you looking. "A Mamo elder once told me the two trees are part of the same tree. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but it is true that figs can have a great many trunks that are not seedlings of the tree, nor even clones of it, but part of the same contiguous whole."
