Welp, I finally feel good enough to post online. Had a touch of something that made me feel......bad, but it seems to be out of my system now that I've sleep most of the day away.

Heads up Dragonstrike, but Terra's not going to straight up agree with Nathan about Legends/Plot Deviced Pokemon. One of his goal is to defeat them without too much help, or at least be a sizable nuisense to them while his friends get away/do their own thing to it, so giving up on that issue is a no go. He won't suicide on them , if you/Nathan are worried about that, but he's not going to be afraid to challenge them either.

Phantom....well, I hate to say this, but I'm going to get Shiranui tutored in Bullet Punch by Sid, since that take no time at all for the both of us and I REALLY want a Steel type move on him ASAP. You can still teach Anubi it, though, and Genie still needs to learn Tailwind, so there's plenty of Tutoring opportunities between us left, so fear not my dear!
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

Nobody's an island while facing those kinds of pokemon.  Just trying to reinforce some of the points Lurantis was making.

I and Terra know that, but the way you phrased made Nathan's words seems less helpful and more discouraging/'your dumb for trying' . Which may be the case, but it still rubs me the wrong way, and by extension Terra, ya know?

Nathan's not about to start intentionally doing that.  That wouldn't be in his character.

Oh, I know that, but the phrasing of his words just made me feel put down a bit . Not asking you to change anything, just want to explain how it seemed to me/Terra, and how that's going to colour his response. That's all!

*does a hand gesture in the means of 'It's no big deal'* That's very reasonable, please don't feel bad about that! I would probably do the same, as it saves us time and Encounter Slots and costs nothing, and as you say there are enough opportunities where Shiva and Terra can come together for the sake of movetutoring. I especially look a bit forward to meet Genie again. ^^

Hmmmm...if I factor in the potential cost of Juni's Sceptile, possibly Pyroar, and the trade for Thunder...that may end up costing me almost all of my on hand cash, including the funds Dagny just provided...teaching some of those tutorable moves might have to wait after all...

I've been pondering about that mysterious 'kingly Pokemon' needed to advance to the deeper layers of the Skull Ruins for a bit, and the most obvious exemplars that came to my mind are Honedge from Heart and Slowking from Nathan. Other possibilities could be:
  • A Nidoking, Caesar from Heart is a Nidorino at the moment though.
  • A Pyroar, likely the one at the Shelter in Stair City. It needs a lot of work in order to be used safely, there's likely no time to manage that properly before the trip into the Ruins.
  • A Jellicent, I caught a Shiny Frillish down Mount Sentry but traded it away already.
  • A Golking, I remember Nathan caught one during the Safari Cup.

Does anyone of your have more suggestions and/or thoughts about that?

Charizard and other Dragons/Dragon-like pokemon. (A common sight among the nobility and one of Sarimanok's preferred kinds of mons)

Empirilla (king of the jungle, essentially)

Vespiquen (literally bug royalty.  Seikamater also fits that category, but isn't a feasible possibility atm. Always female, but might not make a difference)

Politoed (another King's Rock evo)

Gallade and Gardevoir could possibly count circumstantially. (No guarantees, but it may be a possibility)
