[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

Yes, if he succeeds on a Grapple, a Stealth, and a Channel rolls. Otherwise such an action could be easily evaded.

.....Honestly at this point mates, I want to join up with the Scims, even if it means not going towards the Kadabra Chambers right now (Nothing is stopping the group from exploring that place after they stop the disaster [hopefully], when the Scims should be FAR away from the ruins/less focused on them). They have crucial intel on the dungeon itself, including the Treasures itself, and more numbers on our side + their resources to deal threats down there . Even if they betray us later a critical juncture, we still stand to benefit from a partnership until that point AND we can discretely/not discretely try to learn more about the now secondary antagonists of the game. Plus, Cosh is being truthful to the group so far as Gallade can tell (No way of knowing if the Gauntlets can blocks Empathy checks yet) and being fairly reasonable/'nice' for a man that has been constantly beguiled and foiled by the group, which speaks to his character and/or how patient he is.

Bottom line, my vote is to join up with the Scims for now, compromise with them the best we can, and just not create an unnecessary mess that would lower the odds of us being able to complete the Skull Ruins and stopping The Millennium Comet's Envoy. Anyone else with me, or am I just alone here?

Marco would be a great asset if we rescued him as well, though.  Juni was certain that her entire group would have been unable to beat him. (Provided he's in fighting shape of course, but it would likely take more than the upper layers of the Ruins to take him down)

And Calam and Solosis are fairly likely to just outright refuse to work with the Scimitars in any capacity.  Gallade also hates Cosh and wants nothing to do with him except punch him super hard.  That's half of Nathan's team that won't be likely to fully cooperate (two of whom are basically mandatory to have around for one reason or another), not to mention that Nathan and most of the rest of the group have a barrel full of baggage with the Scims that labels them as little more than criminals at this point.

Look mate, can you at least let me/Terra have a shot at reaching an agreement? Yes, the group as a whole has AMPLE reason to despise and want to wipe the floor with the Scims, but the fact of the matter is that they are NOT the biggest and most prominent/upcoming threat (now), but the Skull Ruins and the Millennium Comet are. Even if both sides hate each others guts, its not impossible for them to work together and bury their animosity/keep it under control, even for Pokemon if they are ordered to play nice. Heck, even Gallade falls in that category, as he's about as wise as any of the main characters and therefore should be able to employ the concept of 'Friends today, enemies again tomorrow.'

Basically....can't you give peace a chance, maaaan? OOC and IC?

I'm with you on that, regardless that Cosh gave the order to kidnap Shiva to force info out of her. That says enough already, dealing with the Comet has priority over any former issues.

Wait, Cosh said that if he was left outside, he wouldn't be able to communicate with his side of the team on the inside, what if the reverse is true as well? Could always ambush 'em in the ruins and say something bad happened to them to the leftover Scimitar goons. Though Cosh could have a contingency plan if something like this happens, its still a plan that Spira would consider.
Well Spira might not stoop that low, but still an idea.

Don't think the group would accept killing choice. Heart is open to that suggestion, but he promised Terra to find a better path.

I think it's a bad idea we join forces with Cosh. But the Comet is coming, and even if we win against those Scims we would waste precious energy and resources in that fight, way before we reach our goal.

As much I dislike the idea, I vote for join forces with the Scims. For now. But if Cosh do anything, Heart will be the first one to burn him and let his corpse root with the ghosts.

What I brutal, pragmatic, and thoroughly underhanded idea, Mika! I love it! Ventus would also heartily approve too, were your character the one to secretly suggest it to him/group!

HOWEVER, I STILL say no unnecessary conflict with the Scims. If they through the first punch, we'll do our level best to pile drive them into the mantle, but if we can actually work together and make the Skull Ruins and Millennium Comets easier, then by all rights we should cooperate with them the best we can!

You mean once we're down the Ruins deep enough, we ambush Cosh and his few people? That sounds mean and like we'd betray them, but regardless of that it's actually a great Plan B - yet a risky one - shall they not play by the rules.

If each of our charas is asked to pair up with one Scim, then it'd be fair if each chara would get to choose the Scim to pair up with by themselves than let Cosh do that, as he might exploit that to our disadvantage. Sounds better/more safe?

Sounds good to me, but what if they disagree to that arrangement? In that case, we could compromise further and say he can choose two people (Beyond himself, as Terra wants to stick close to Cosh to keep him and Nathan/Gallade in check) to pair with two members of our group, and we choose two of his in turn. That okay, mates?
