[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Quote:If you're going to use Toya, ya might want to consider using a Super Potion or an equivalent item on him.
Spira uses a Super Potion. Toya is now at 12/12 HP. (Only Restoring item used on Toya in the past 24 ig hours so far is a Revive, which doesn't affect healing)

Odor Sleuth would definitely work against a normal Spiritomb. Who knows if it would work on the legendary variant.

"Do note that what I've said so far about Spiritomb is from what I know about the Sinnohian variety, and may not work on the one that we'd most likely be facing in that chamber." Spira shrugs, "The one that I know quite a bit about was resealed in a similar fashion to what I said about destabilizing the keystone."

Angie, with Terra riding as far back on her as possible and Slowking a little closer to the drill, barrels through the loose rock of the Barrow. You hear mad cackling above as you follow Terra into the new tunnel, but no ghostly presence dares follow you below.

Slowking bellows for Angie to slow down as you near the Chamber entrance. She digs slower. Cosh comes up behind, causing little clusters of crystal to explode out of her path with waving gestures from his smoking Gauntlet. He also gives directional guidance. "These crystals are a good sign. We're following Almanac-Scimitar sonar now. A little to the right... good. I'll get Dunseraph prepared for entry." +2 temporary Def.

Then suddenly she breaks through a broad coating of sharp, weblike crystalline structure, somewhat similar to refined MSC in appearance. It apparently spreads over the ceiling of a large dome-shaped chamber. As Angie breaches it, she is pierced by shattering crystals.

(5)(4) She takes 2 dmg.

There is a very familiar bright burst of light and a familiar "Vwooop" sound. Angie's form shrinks, becomes PURE LIGHT, and reverberates around the massive capture web on the ceiling of the Kadabra Chamber! The whole Chamber, and the party currently perched on the roof of the Chamber, shakes as Angie resists the capture.

Dunseraph has a catch rate of 120, pretty run of the mill despite her size, let's say 7 Will, -1 pain, you healed all her debuffs earlier.

Will:
(3)(6)(5)(1)(4)(3)

Capture Web:
(6)(1)(3)(5)(6)(6) (4)(5)

Angie disappears within the Capture Web!

There's also a familiar "Zwing!" sound, apparently something getting released as well.

Peering through the hole, you see a large dome with a flat stone floor. It's pitted with square, manmade holes leading to lower tunnels. Also doorways. A vast rusty tube lies to one side, dented and pierced in many places.

There are Pokemon in the room! Two dozen Kadabra are visible, going about their business with painstaking slowness. They bring up food from lower layers (mostly fungus), they use Telekinesis to work on new housing for themselves (many simple stone lean-tos or rubble-caves already exist), they meditate or psychically discuss things with each other. A few clean up the shattered crystal fallen on the floor, while others crane their heads back to look at Terra, Slowking, and Cosh curiously? menacingly?

Cosh says "What the..." and begins vomiting. Looking where he was looking, you see there are other Capture Webs lining other parts of the room. One contains a sleeping Kadabra, visibly overgrown with crystals. The other, partly broken by your entrance, contains a disturbing sight: a half-formed Kadabra with startlingly human features, still wearing a Ruin Maniac hat.

"Uhm... What the heck is this?!" Spira can only stare in shock at the strange sight. "So, ehm, what the heck are we supposed to do here?" He turns his attention to the deformed Kadabra, "and what happened to him?!"

The whole time they are following the tunnel Terra's noble Dunseraph's digging, Shiva's rather tense, almost paranoid that IT will come for them either way, that their slumber(?) has been disturbed by all the digging noise regardless. Luckily and regardless how often she throws her head back to gaze over her shoulder, IT is nowhere to see or feel. The more near to these weird Chambers and  the further away from IT they're getting, the more excited and calmer she's getting.

She was just about to call out a 'Be careful!!' when Angie breaches through that nice crystalline structure, but too late already. She watches with both horror and vivid fascination what happens with the angelic dragon, once she has dissappeared somewhere in the web, Shiva's giving Terra a very worried and anxious look. "Did she just.... DEVOLDED into a Dunsparce??" She more whispers than says that, these words just came, they're full of disbelief and wondering.

Withe EVEN MORE fascination Shiva soon dares to look through the whole Angie dug, after having collected all the crystal shards laying around and investigating them (this includes letting Yena sniff on them and show them to Lilith). What's that curious stuff?? It feels like MSC, yet more refined, and it's pretty beautiful. ^o^ She's also one of the first to wordlessly hand Cosh a towel.

...So many Kadabra!! Haha, Helious would like that sight. The natural fae enthusiast is observing their doing with interest, but is quick to back away as a few of 'em crane their heads. That exemplar overgrown with crystals catches her interest, same with that biiig rusty tube to one side. When no 'inhabitant' of the Chamber's looking, Shiva will carefully let one tiny shard of crystal drop onto it, watching what happens. Weird thing, she's highly wondering what its purpose may be.

She doesn't dare to say a single thing about that other captured 'Kadabra', but she unfortunately has a good idea why that one's looking so...humanlike. She throws a look towards Nathan that expresses at first fear and then compassion. And sorrow.

Terra gives his arcane master of a partner a thankful nod as they buff his 'little' girl, pleased that she'll have that bit of added protection and that the Scimitars can and willbuff Pokemon. One less reason to distrust the man was a good thing in his book (Not that he's going to ever let his guard down, of course), and it just further cements their willingness to cooperate with the group. However, their smoking gauntlet does not escape the sagely monk's notice, and he gives them a concerned look while pointing to it.

"Something wrong with Gauntlet? Anything can be done to....fix it?"

Angie's 'Capture'.....well, that causes the mountain of a man to visibly panic and become extremely upset at what in Nature's bounty fucking happened. The very first thing he would do is try is damndest to recall her, and if he can't do that he'll be scrutinizing what she was 'captured' in with intense single mindedness, so that he could possibly determine a way to free her from it.

He doesn't even notice the Kadabra's Chamber's inhabitants/the construction/anything about the place until Cosh voids the contents of his stomach, after which......well, Terra face pales as he realized just how cursed of a place the Skull Ruins were.

"....Oh. This.....that......horrible. *Shivers* Horrible....."

They then dig out a napkin from his pockets to offer to his partner to clean off his face, his own looking equally sickened and uneasy at what he seen.

".....I don't know what to do. About....this. Do you?"

"I think that was probably a trap.  Probably developed by Sarimanok or those who worked for him, using technology similar to a modern Pokeball's capture web.  Probably didn't devolve Angie, but we should probably try to free her as quickly as possible...no telling if they'll have the same effect on pokemon, but based on what's in those other capture webs...well, we almost definitely shouldn't get caught in them ourselves if we can avoid it..."

Nathan's intently looking at those Kadabra all the while, doing his best to keep his emotions in check, to not overreact (made all the easier by how stoic Gallade typically is, thankfully).  Overreacting is the last thing that needs to happen right now.

If Marco's in there, would he recognize Nathan?  And if he is...how would they undo this?  And if not...then where is he?

Where are Luxray and Skarmory and the others, for that matter?  If they can just find his dad's pokemon, then they can probably find their trainer...

To the first and second question Shiva tactfully doesn't answer, she's after these Artifacts with the first being said to be hidden away by ghosts in what remains of the foundation of the palace. BUT towards the latter, Shiva all carefully speaks up: "Are you...familiar with that creepy fairytale about a boy sporting weird extrasensory skills once having become a Kadabra? Something rather similar seems to be going on with, eh....him. *pointing to humanoid Kadabra with nice hat*"

Picking up the Kadabra Kyrstals would earn the mystical lass a sharp look of disapproval from the steely brawler, followed a short but sufficient response: "Don't. Drop them. Please. Scimitars says crystals are strange, so we should leave them alone." He doesn't stop her from doing what she wants, though, but if she keeps picking up the Krystals she'll get an increasingly worried grimaces from him. I imagine Solomon has his own reaction towards handling those Krystals, but I'll leave those to you Iron.

Concerning Angie's 'Capture', he isn't paying attention to ANYONE while that happened, so Shiva's question slips by him like her Whimsicott through a narrow crack of a cookie jar. (I personally think Angie was Captured SOMEHOW, so it's only 'that' bad.). Solomon probably catches it, though, and could conceivably offer his Insight on the matter, as well as.....well, everything else in the Kadabra Chambers. Shiva and Spira would probably be able to understand them reasonably well, or bar that they could find a way to pantomime his info out to Nathan, with maybe some support from his Hidden Power?

The Retro Breeder's response only earns him with a simple, haunted look from Terra, followed by an equally simple answer to all his questions: "I don't know. Not sure if I want to know."

Everything else....well, Terra's not too concerned about it right now, unless someone deliberately draws his attention to it/whatever topic they bring up.
