[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(05-24-2019, 04:07 PM)Iron Wrote: The Kadabra don't mind Nathan's Psychic types, but they are leery of the Ghosts. Ghosts get +1 dice.

13 and 12 alert dice

Nathan: (2)(5)(2)(4)(6)(4)(5)(1)(6)(6)(2)(2) = 7 successes
Spira: (5)(4)(3)(3)(4)(2)(2)(2)(4)(6)(4)(3) = 6 successes

5 were needed so you both find it at the same time, Nathan coming face to face with a Ghost coming from the other side.

There's a vein of MSC running from the Capture Web containing Angie down to a nodule of MSC which has been polished to a shiny finish, almost like a lens. You think hitting that with a jolt of electricity will incarnate Angie. There may be others for the other capture webs.

Nathan starts when a Ghost appears from the other side of the button!

...but he realizes it's just one of Spira's when it doesn't make any aggressive motions, so he manages to avoid making too much noise in his surprise, thankfuly.

Jolt of electricity, you say?  Sounds like a job for Emolga! A well placed Nuzzle, Thunder Shock, or Spark oughta do the trick.

Nathan also indicates to Solosis that she should be ready to set up a Light Screen if the Kadabra turn aggressive.

Let's free Angie!

Quote:They nod, though - they have seen the sky through small holes in their roof, at least. But you pick up something interesting with this line of inquiry: Their memories of their previous forms are so muddled that they all seem confused as to how much sky they've seen, from their time above.

Even if no lenses are included, Shiva will take a look through the huge old and crude telescope if the Kadabra allow, this action of hers looks fluent and professional like it's something she often does. She also lets Lilith take a look just because :>

"The sky's something curious, isn't it....?" she mumbles while doing so. "I can't imagine myself living down a place where I'm not under the sky, where I can't watch the velvet nightsky with its bright stars." She gifts the Kadabra a kind smile. "But you're having quite a neat life down these chambers it seems, I take you're not missing anything. It's peaceful, isn't it...? No humans that want to fight or capture you, right? Abra aren't really popular, but your species kinda is as it saves the humans the tenacious act of helping them to control their psychic powers correctly. I had fun doing so however...."

The Kadabra shake their heads when you say there's no humans, and the leader puts on a sly grin.

Angie is released in a burst of light! You'll have to re-register her to a Pokeball later, but no roll will be needed given her loyalty.

The Light Screen immediately goes up from Solosis, as the Kadabra in the area instantly turn on you. There are six of them looking ready to battle, wagging their fingers to say you shouldn't have done that. The rest go about their business, but they might change their minds if Moves start flying.

Gallade's got his blades unsheathed and has taken a fighting stance in case things go awry!

"In case you hadn't noticed, some of us are particularly unhappy that one of us was trapped.  I'd rather this not come to blows, but we will defend ourselves if we have to.  If you'd be so kind as to help us find someone instead of attacking us, then we'd be more than happy to not cause a ruckus."

They immediately attack when you mention finding someone!

Feline hands grab at Spira and Nathan first, followed by Shiva interrupting the tail end of her conversation.

Heart is eating fungus and they begin surround him, too.

Kadabra Crowd: Wicked Thing - Bravely Default

Figured it would come to that eventually given why we're here and what the Kadabra are trying to encourage us to do.  I doubt they would have simply just let us explore/leave.  Gallade will not stand for this!  Justified triggers, increasing Gallade's Strength by 1!  These kidnappers shall fall!

"Don't say I didn't warn you, Kadabra."

Out comes Charizard to act as backup for Gallade (who's immediately put himself between Nathan and the approaching Kadabra)!  Charizard may still be a little winded from the previous fight, but behind the protection of Solosis's Light Screen, everyone should be reasonably okay.  Hopefully.

The Scimitars are going to help fight these things too, right?

Heart was eating the mushroom. "So...gonna go hostile no? So be it." Heart then release two of his Pokemon: Quetzal with metalic in the air ready to broke some bones. And Gustav, ready to send torrents with his cannon. "Anyone who don't want get hurt, stay away of us. Unless you want my metal serpent squash your bodies with his maw."

Intimidating attempt @Iron? To at least make some of them loose the will to fight?

????? That's even MORE suspicious and given that Shiva knows a lot about sly and miscievous behaviour, she almost instantly starts to believe that the Kadabra
  1. are very aware of the Capture Web being able to turn human visitors into one of them
    and
  2. know more about Nathan's dad's whereabouts than they want to tell.

She's reacting with a startled screech when the oh-so-kind Kadabra suddenly show their true(?) face and grab her, which causes Whimsicott to summon herself with the aim to defend her sweet Master with everything her fluff can bring up. "I didn't do anything, why do all of ya act like that now?! Oh... *she watches Angie happily fly outta the Chamber* You're not happy about that, I see. Kidnapping Pokemon Companions isn't something nice though, and as much as I appreciate your kindness and hospitality, I don't wish to stay here and become one of yours, I've got a mission, I've got a home already, I value my human memories!"

From the Ball she tosses a feline creature with beautiful lightblue fur manifests, it's bigger and bulkier than a normal Glaceon though because it's Primal Glaceon! He takes a stance on top of the old crude telescope, looking ready to pounce once receiving the word. Since the telescope has no lenses, is it big enough that Primal Glaceon or Whimsicott can take some cover within it during battle?

She also calls out towards Cosh: "You're having any idea which hole or doorway's leading us to outta here? There are too many Kadabra, I want and need the Artifacts, Terra has just abandoned us!!"

When the Kadabra grab at Spira, he practically growls, "I wouldn't do that if I was you," Noire and Luna take positions between the Kadabra and Spira; Luna razzes the Kadabra with a sound similar to that of a balloon deflating, and Noire cackles, readying a Shadow Ball, both of their messages made clear; 'Don't mess with master!'

Cosh: "Nathan! Where is Marco Warren? If he's a Kadabra, how do we know we aren't hurting him and thus our chances of recruiting him?"

To Shiva: "Downward is where we need to go after we collect Marco!"
