[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery
(Yeah, again, sorry I forgot about IB until after Round 2.)

Candice waves a hand dismissively at Randolph's pokemon using Lethal damage.  "Just don't try to kill any of my pokemon, and we'll be square, okay?  Nurse Joy treating Lethal wounds after Gym Battles is standard fair.  And yes, some of the pokemon in the Snowpoint Temple are indeed this tough.  Ice types can be quite tenacious if you give them the chance to be, ya know?"

Randolph vs Candice Round 4

Stymph presses her assault!

Drill Peck 1 (the attack won't kill Glalie even if it crits, so this is Lethal)
(4)(5)(3)(1)(5)(4)(1)
(5)(2)(6)(4) Glalie takes another 3 Lethal damage! 4/4 HP (6 Lethal) -2 Pain

Glalie sees an opening, and this is the last Round that Hail will be active for, so she goes for another...

Blizzard 1
(6)(3)(4)(1)(5)(2)
(5)(1)(5)(5)(1)(2)(5) Stymph takes 3 damage! 1/9 HP -3 Pain
(1) Nope, and thank goodness for that!

Stymph takes another breather.

Roost 2
No boost from Tailwind since it doesn't use Dex in this game.  Again, don't forget to update Stymph's Channel and Nature on your sheet.
(5) It works!
(6)(6)(1)(2)(3) Stymph recovers 2 HP 3/9 HP -2 Pain
Spend another Will Point!

Glalie had a conditional order this time!  She uses Crunch instead of an Ice move as soon as Stymph lands!

Crunch 2
(3)(2)(1)(3) ...except Stymph saw it coming and takes off immediately!

...then proceeds to divebomb the frozen rock again!

Steel Wing 3
(5)(5)
(3)(5)(3)(4)(5) Glalie takes 4 damage and faints!  Stymph screeches and revels in her victory!
(5) Nada

The hail stops.

2 Rounds of Tailwind left!

"Thanks for working so hard, Glalie.  Good job, Randolph, but we're still far from done with this battle."

Who's next on the chopping block?  Or is Stymph staying in?

(All's forgiven, mate, so don't worry.)

Randolph pauses and gives Candice an askew look at treating Lethal Damage he deliberately inflicted on her Pokemon so casually, but the the display then reminds him of a certain moment, causing him to slowly nod back to her. He could never entirely understand such attitudes towards Pokemon Lethality , but he could accept and understand in part that such was due to a certain sense of familiarity with it, the nature of it, and the safeties in place to ameliorate it, and therefore could ultimately condone and concede to her stance on the mater.

".....Very well. Wasn't even the slightest intention to do.....that to your Pokemon, and I know the rules most Gym have on Lethal Damage, but...I still felt the need to justify myself."

His tone spikes briefly into bitter disgust as he alluded to that act, before it lightened back to its regular somberness as he continued.

"...And, yeah, I know Ice are snow joke now. *Chuckles* Sorry, couldn't resist. Anyway, most of the ones I've face got thrashed pretty easy by, but I can see that's cause their Trainer were so bleeding incompetent with them, or knew squat on how to bring their potential out. *Shakes head* Still not convinced Ice is among the worst types to face if you or your opponent know what to do with them or not, but I can say you're doing a damn good job of making the most out of them and their quirks. Let's see if ya can continue to do so under a wee bit more pressure, though."

With all that said, Ran devotes his attention to the ensuing/remaining Action of the Round, and is soon rewarded for his vigilance by witnessing Stymph brow beating the living ball of ice into the icy arena, knocking it out. He grimly smiled at the work she wrought upon its gelid globe of a body, and called out loudly to hear.

"Great job, girly. Proved again you're a true warrior, one that gives as good as she gets. Have to keep ya to stay out a bit longer, though. Can't have those buffs of Puck's and yours go to waste, and you still got plenty of fight in ya, right?"

The metallic bird of prey (from her perch on the ground) spread out her wings and let out a screech of jubilant exhilaration, agreeing whole heartily with her leader and beckoning forth their opposition to send out her next opponent, so that she may continue to revel in battle and earn GLORY for her and Randolph, no matter how weakened she may be! Let them come, let them come, and taste her Steel!

To Miss Jackie Frost, the midget man simply crosses his arms, nods, and says "Oh, I know this is just the beginning of your own Hail Storm you're sending me and my own's way, but I'll say this now: we're ready for whatever you throw at us."
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

Kogeki remember to see such strange cat somewhere...he then ask Randolph to excuse him, while he investigate the lake because he has a slight idea what this Pokemon is. And go in the Lakefront to see that Strange cat with monocle.

32 of her exp will promptly be used for her 5th point in empathy! and 8 more (leaving her at 2xp) will be used for a second point in Fight.
*Flashback*
Karen accepts the Icicle badge gladly.
"Oh the prints? I got them back in Johto, and using my starter, Magneton (maybe Magnemite at the time the prints were gotten), Nidorina, and a Mightyena, that I'm glad you didn't have to fight, cuz I don't have much control over him and he nearly chomped Wake's, that's Crasher Wake, Floatzel into the afterlife."
She pulls out the prints and shows them to Candice.
After she leaves the gym, she heads to the Pokemon Center to heal her party and to swap Shellos back into her party for Rapidash.

"Cat bat?" Karen is a little confused by that vague description, "I just might check it out, but first..." she leaves and heads to the Pokemart for a shopping spree!
With that done, she heads to the Acuity Lakefront where the strange Pokemon was seen and presumably bumps into Kogeki there.
"So, ehm... What is that thing? And, if you don't mind, let me try finding out what it wants."
If Kogeki agrees, she approaches the strange Pokemon and squats in front of it; "So little guy, what are you doing here? That's a neat little accessory you've got there." she motions to the monocle that it's wearing, "D'ya have a trainer?"

Kogeki does meet Karen. "Heya. I have a slight idea what might is, from my home region. But I suppose you could try to talk with him and help. Just be careful to not let him attack ya."

"Oh wow, really?  That's impressive!  Well, if ya ever want to head into the Snowpoint Temple, let me know and I'll let the guards know I think you can handle yourself in there, Karen!  A lot of strong and sometimes rare pokemon call it home, so it's a great place to train in!  Maybe your Mightyena might find that kind of a challenge satisfying?  I don't know much about Dark types, to be honest."

---------------------------------

Now that Kogeki and Karen are investigating the strange pokemon more closely, they're able to tell 2 things right off the bat:

- The 'monocle' is actually a Wide Lens
- Kogeki, being from Tandor, is able to identify it as a Minyan.  Which is strange for a lot of reasons.  They're only native to Tandor, they're typically nocturnal, they live in warmer climates...what's a Minyan doing here at all!?

When Karen asks the pokemon if they have a trainer, they nod and gesture for Karen to follow them.

"I might give it a look later in that case."

Oh, and one more detail: Minyan pulls its wings in close around its body and shivers, then gestures towards the lakefront again.

Karen, with her high Empathy, can easily tell that it probably means this pokemon's trainer is rather cold.  Might be a good idea to be prepared to help with that if needed.

She takes off her bag, rummages through her stuff and once she finds what she's looking for (a sleeping bag that she carries around, just in case) she puts it where she can better get to it and goes to help the trainer in need, and to be on the safe side, she tells Kogeki that she's following the Minyan, and the fact that there most likely is a trainer in distress nearby.
