[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery
Candice whistles and calls out to her next pokemon.

"Ooohhhh Weeeaaavile!  It's time to come out and play!"

Even when she's being more serious, Candice still has a more playful and cheery attitude at times.  A black blur rushes past Stymph as she stretches her wings!

And then Stymph finds herself face to face with Candice's Weavile, who almost seems to have appeared out of thin air.

Quite literally face to face, by the way.  Weavile has put her face directly in Stymph's, and begins purring playfully.

Stymph, wanting some personal space, snaps at Weavile!  The weasel cat backs away, cackling all the while.  Oh, this is going to be fun.

Round 5 Initiatives
Stymph: 11 + 2* = 13
Weavile: (1) + 12 = 13
Stymph goes first due to having higher Dex (for now).

Let the game between cat and bird begin!

Karen and Kogeki follow the monocled Minyan out to Acuity Lakefront.  However, even when they get outside of the city, there's no sign of Minyan's trainer.  Minyan's pointing towards the entrance of Lake Acuity itself now, though, and they swiftly run towards it and disappear into the trees.

But before Karen and Kogeki can follow, wild pokemon start to appear!  Each trainer is required to pick one to encounter on the way to Lake Acuity.

Due to the large amount of Snover that live in this area, it will be Hailing during all of these encounters.

Ran was left blinkering as Weavile just materilized from the aether, before giving the black cat a scowl as he saw them taunting Stymph!

"Oy, knock it off, 'fore she spears ya like furred fishie, ya kitty cat!"

His expression then tightens as he recalled what little he knew about the species of Pokemon before him, his scowl soon shifting into a wary grimace the more he thought about it.

'Weaviles......these fleabags are fast, ferocious fighters, and trickier than even some of the wiliest Fairy. Match ups against it are going to quick and chock full of no good conniving. Bah...going to have to try take'em down quick as Extreme Speed, or at least mangle this nuisense enough for them not to be one anymore....'

Deliberations over, old Wolfe began issuing his next set of Orders with restraint and caution.

"Stymph, rough the feline up much as you can. Don't worry about doing anything else, except for taking them down."

Order: Drill Peck (Lethal [I'm not discounting them having a HP Pinch Berry]), followed by Steel Wing. Simple as that, as I need to get a LOT of Damage on Weavile, and can't afford to give it any breathing room that Roost might afford. With Sturdy, Stymph will get at least 1 Attack off against them, which might be all it takes to get that critical edge. Kitty cat's likely going to clean up, but damn if Ran or his Valkyrie will make it easy for them!

Moves:

Drill Peck
Accuracy: *11D6 - 2 Actions - 2/3 Pain = 7/6D6 Dice
Damage: 9D6 Base
Effect: Lethal (Yes)

Steel Wing
Accuracy: *11D6 - 4 Actions - 2/3 Pain = 5/4D6 Dice
Damage: 10D6 + 1 Base Damage

Typically, Gym Leaders will only give Sitrus Berries and the like to their aces for Gym Battles, which is something Randolph would probably know from hanging with Byron and Roark.  And Weavile definitely isn't Candice's ace for this fight.

Randolph vs Candice Round 5

Stymph lets out another shrill battle cry and charges as if she was a drill!

Drill Peck 1
(6)(5)(4)(2)(3)(1)(2) 3 successes
Evade 1: 13 - 2 = 11 D6
(3)(5)(2)(2)(5)(3)(2)(4)(6)(2)(1) 4 successes
Weavile nimbly dodges out of the way of Stymph's attack!

The steel warrior turns around for another attempt at striking this kitty on the fly, though!

Steel Wing 2
(5)(4)(2)(3) 2 successes
Evade 2: (4)(3)(3)(6)(2)(2)(4)(1)(4) 4 successes
Another dodge!

Weavile than snarls and retaliates with her own attack, looking stunningly Beautiful the whole time!

Night Slash 3
12 - 6 = 6 D6
(5)(2)(2)(1)(5)(5)
4 Str + 3 Pow + STAB - 5* Def = 3 D6
(3)(1)(1) ...but she bounces off of Stymph's steely hide entirely!  Her claws don't even leave a scratch!

Slightly miffed at that setback, Weavile tries again to batter that steely hide...

Twice!  The use of simple actions like Evading is another way to get 5 Action chains in League officiated battles.

Ice Punch 4
(4)(2)(2)(4)
(4)(5)(1) Stymph takes 2 damage! 1/9 HP -3 Pain
(5) Nope, not happenin'

Brick Break 5
(1)(2) Miss!  Stymph's Sturdy is somehow STILL intact!

Stymph's pretty dang annoyed at Weavile for that earlier taunt!  She SO wants to put that kitty in her place!  All she has to do is land one good blow! She's getting rather tired from all this fighting (emphasis on tired, given she spent 3 Will Points in quick succession), but she's damn proud of being able to last this long while under so much attrition!

1 Round of Tailwind remains!

Oh, and, uh, before I forget about another Ability...Weavile has Pressure. Which means that Stymph effectively has 2 Will at the current moment.

It quickly became apparent that his assumptions about Weavile were an underestimation, as the black cat ended up running circles around Stymph and making a total fool out of her, which simply enraged her as she screech out condemning protests at her foe. Coward, coward! Have you no honor or an ounce of acumen!? Face her might like a real warrior, instead of employ such disgraceful tactics!!!

Ran, however, had a different reaction to the fleet footedness of Weavile, opting to instead shake his head a tad and let out a low *sigh*, before calling out to his ironclad valkyrie .

"Sorry Stymph, but I'm recalling you for now. That cold fleabag will just keep dodging and whittling away at ya instead of facing a head on assault, so I don't see a point in keeping you out against them."

(Insert Pursuit here, maybe)

He then promptly does as he said before she could offer a squawk of protest (To save him the time and headache of arguing with her), and plucks his next choice off his belt and hefted it once.

"Was hoping to wait a bit before sending this little one of mine out to keep her fresh for ya ace if I need be, but you know what they say: best laid play can easily come undone."

The bristly miner tosses out the Pokeball, and out comes Diam, who does a playful little dance on the icy area upon being summoned, before she slowly panned her gaze over to her foe and gave them sinister leer, tilting at them with ominous curiosity. Oh, she's fighting a fellow trickster, she see? Well, she'll just have to be the greater tease, he he he.....

Orders: Switch out to Diam, since I won't gamble against Weavile's Evasion or burn even more Will healing Stymph (Which could just be interrupted with an Ice Shard). If they use Pursuit, at least she'll survive it and can act as either a Scout or do one last Move herself later on. Also, if its possible, Ran will delay Mega Evolving Diam until right as the Round starts, in order to prevent Candice to account for it right away.

Nope, no Pursuit.

Candice quirks an eyebrow when Randolph chooses to send out a Sableye against Weavile.  What's a Sableye going to do against an enemy Dark type, after all?

Weavile crouches low to the ground, all warmed up now!  She hisses at her opponent menacingly.  Even Diam can't help but be at least a little cowed by the mere presence of this pokemon.

Pressure temporarily halves Diam's current Will Score (making it 3 effectively).  Stymph's returns to its original value of 4 now.

Round 6 Initiatives
Diam: (5) + 7 + 2* = 14
Weavile: 13

Well hot dang, would you look at that!  Diam goes first for once!

Well, until she Mega Evolves and/or the Tailwind stops blowing, that is.  But hey, maybe you can do something cool with this if you play it well!

The Pokemon will appear by Dragonstrike description since no one see them yet :3
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

(Not planning anything with her being faster, I'm afraid. The DEX Boost doesn't do her any good, really, due to most of her Moves using Special as part of her Dice Roll. I see you're rounding down Will with Pressure too, which makes sense, if more of a pain to deal with.)

Old Wolfe doesn't betray any thought of his as he says this his little anklebitter:

"Let's give this Weavile a right headache, Diam."

Music: Lullaby for Mergo Remix, by Alex Roe

Cue Mega Transformation at the start of the Round.

Orders: Depending on what Weavile does, Diam will change her first Move accordingly:
-If they use Ice Punch/A Move that has a chance to Freeze, she'll use Detect on it. Otherwise, she'll use Metal Burst, as once they attack her, they can't Evade for that Mini-Round. If they fail to Damage her at all, though, she'll just use Flash Cannon unless they have not used Ice Punch and their first Action is a new Ice Move that could have Frozen her, in which case she'll just Wait instead (As I want it on hand for her to break out of Freeze instantly).
-If they didn't use a Freezing Ice Move for their first Action, she'll use Detect as her second Action. Otherwise, she'll use Metal Burst against them, or Flash Cannon if they still didn't do any Damage if she has scouted out all their known Freezing Moves by that point; otherwise, she'll Wait again.
-For her last Action, it will be Detect if it hasn't already been used, Metal Burst if it has not already been used, or Flash Cannon if it had not been used. If she's been brought to 1/2 HP, though, use Recover + a Will Point to enable it to auto succeed.

That's the gist of it: Forcing Weavile out of his Evasion Tactics, and scouting out that last Free Move of their's or force them to only use Three Actions per Round (And Strike does count as a Move for terms of The 4 Move Limit, if I recall an earlier ruling of yours, so if they use that to Spam, that's the last unique Move it gets). I don't want to deal with its Evasions nonsense unless I have to, as its totally disadvantageous for me to do so.

Kogeki encounters not one Sneasel, but three!  The one in the middle definitely looks like the leader of this small group.

And they definitely look like they're looking for trouble.

The leader Sneasel cracks its knuckles and glares at those who dare tread on its turf!

Susano'o, a noble Daikatuna who looks strikingly similar to the Daikatuna depicted on Kogeki's katana, stands tall and unflinching in the face of these foes!

Izanagi (or Nagi for short) floats in the air, holding a burning ember in his claws.  As an Antarki, he shall burn these fools who dare stand in their way of aiding a lost soul.

Initiatives
Sneasel Gang: (4) + 10 = 14
Susano'o: (5) + 9 = 14
Nagi: (3) + 9 = 12

Karen steps in some mud and almost slips in it, but barely manages not to.  Why is there mud here, though?

Oh.  Rolling around lazily and contentedly in it is a Swinub.  That's probably why there's mud here.

Swinub hasn't noticed Karen yet.
