Genesect Battle! Round 2
Oinari's Illusion triggers immediately, as if a second Genesect has appeared in a flash of light. The real Genesect roars and leaps for it, trying to hide the fact that it has already been wounded.
Cotton Guard 1
(2)(3)(4)(2)(6)(3) (6)(1)(3)(1)(6)
+3 vit = 7d6 vit
Cradling that final blade weapon works just about as well against Brawl attacks as Canalize - the big difference is just that Calam is so fast, as fast as this legendary blademaster. Genesect won't quite be granting 3 dice of cover; I'll make it 2.
Rock Smash 1
(3)(1)(5)(4)(3)(3) (3)(6)(4)(6)(6)(4) Critical.
12d6 after crit, -7 vit, -2 cover
(2)(4)(4) +1 Got it. Calam worms his way through Genesect's many limbs and uses his horn to activate the legendary Rock Smash! The final weapon is flung out offensively, in desperation, but too late. The circular blade shatters and Genesect is left defenseless but for a Drone.
Genesect also takes a small amount of damage to its torso from the cover.
Lucky Chant 1
(2)(5)(2)(3)(3)(1) (5)(1)(2)(3)
Good things may happen!
Flash
Flash mostly just enrages Genesect. It's still able to see and is just as accurate.
Crucially, Oinari has time to act before Genesect goes. She rushes forward, bravely swinging her intact (but illusory) weapons at Genesect, hoping to catch his missing weapons in her own and redirect them. If this goes wrong, the tiny one will suffer, and Michael will be extreeeemely hard pressed to keep her out of harm's way. Since she is so loyal, though, she'll risk it! Howl's breeding helps too.
Intimidating Foul Play 1
(6)(3)(1)(5)(6), (4)(3)(6)(5)(5), +3 perform, (6*) It's a great performance and a solid strike, on a Genesect who is only bluffing, really. However, Genesect still has that drone and thus still has a modicum of confidence.
You do get the advantage of Genesect's large Strength score, though.
10 Str + 3 power +1 stab -7 def = 7d6 dmg
(5)(5)(5)(1)(6)(4) (1) Genesect takes 4 dmg in a big blow to its ego. Genesect's ego takes 1 Plot Device Damage.
Since Genesect doesn't flee, Michael will have to use this action in protecting the baby.
Rock Slide 1
(4) The wounded insect manages to pull it off.
10 Str + 3 power + 1 STAB = 14d6
Michael grants 3 dice of cover
(1)(2)(1)(4) (4)(4)(5), (5)(4), (6)
Oinari takes 0 dmg, mercifully preserving the illusion
Michael takes 4 dmg (2 from one attack, and 2 while defending the baby)
Whimsicott takes 3 dmg
Gustav takes 5 dmg
Golett takes 4 dmg
Calam and Gallade take 6/5 dmg, which faints them again. But they have performed crucial roles.
Azu takes 6 dmg
Dusknoir and Nubi take 5 dmg. Dusknoir barely hangs on.
Feraligatr and Skarmory takes 5 and are barely hanging on.
Shiva's Pokemon take Potions, although one needs to wait a sec.
CD: (6)(4)(6) The good guys flinch!
The legendary just carries on as if nothing has happened, thrashing about even more.
Earthquake 2
(2) But it doesn't have enough strength left to pulverize you.
Power Gem 2
(1)(5)(6)(3)(1)(3) (5)
(4) Drone D takes 2 dmg but it's still doing OK.
Water Pulse 2
(6)(1)(5)(5)(4)(2) (5) Critical.
(2)(5)(3)(2)(4) Genesect takes 3 dmg.
(5)(4)(6) Genesect was confused! That's going to be much more helpful than the chip damage. (Chip damage that would have flattened any other Pokemon!)
Feraligatr summons more water from the Slowpoke Well, smacking that drone.
Hydro Pump 2
(3)(6)
(2)(4)(3)(4)(5) Drone D takes 4 dmg
Steel Wing 2
(4)(5)
(4)(6)(4) Drone D faints!
HURRICANE 2
(2)(4)(5)(5)(2)(4) (4)(2) Critical, a great first impression for this move.
(4)(6)(5)(1)(5) Genesect takes 4 dmg and is spun all about.
Azu FINALLY gets to use Rain Dance!
Rain Dance 2
(6)(1)(1) + (6*)
It begins to rain, the moisture from the Well below you condensing and forming a surreal underground rainstorm. Feraligatr gives a roar of approval, but it's drowned out by the roar of HATRED from Genesect.
Anything could push the legendary bug over the edge now! It's weaponless, it's confused (and very low on accuracy dice), its drones are slain, and it's getting WET! And it just spent the last five seconds being blasted around in a hurricane! Its ego takes another point of Plot Device damage.
Golett mechanically steps up to deliver a punch to Genesect. He's probably hoping more that it will help him evolve than that it will do anything to Genesect, really.
Rock Smash 2
(1)(5)(1)(4)(6)(4) (5)(6) Crit
(1)(1) No damage, and Golett doesn't feel energized to evolve into his Titan form. He looks like he's trying hard to remember a past that has faded from his memory.
Drain Punch 3
(3)(4)(3)(2)
(6)
Toya gains 1hp
Intimidating Foul Play 3
(6)(2)(2)(4)(5), (5)(6)(2), +3 perform. It hits, and the performance is convincing!
Oinari races forward, swinging rocky blades and kind of howling like a Zorua. Terra is yelling too, having spent a Will point earlier to encourage his little one!
Slipping and sliding in the water accumulated from the rain, Genesect tries to bring up a countering blade. It notices it has only a shattered spur where the blade used to be! It's out of weapons, and one arm is hanging half-off! Its drones are gone, and it's facing an unharmed exemplar of its own species which is not showing any fear!
Genesect begins to retreat. It takes one more action against Oinari, just to see how badly it is routed and to do a last minute bit of damage.
X-Scissor 3
(3) Miss.
Insight: (1)(2)
Genesect manages to rip its own arm off, leaving it hanging in Oinari's jaws! With a wailing chatter, it dashes back down the orichalcum door, leaving sliding footprints in the stone in its haste to get the heck out of there... away from YOU! Since it missed X-Scissor, Oinari manages to maintain the form a little longer and CHASE Genesect in its rout! They tumble through to the floor below, and Genesect Digs away to nurse its wounds for another century or two.
You recover one obsidian crescent that would make very nice jewelry, selling for $18,000 after Shiva has a chance to craft it. If you can manage to convince someone it's from a Genesect, the price doubles. However, you may have to worry about that DNA getting into the wrong hands.
As Oinari transforms back, dropping the illusion, you hear her give a sort of whine of approval at what she's found in the level below.
Every Pokemon in the battle, whether it fainted or what, gains 25XP. +5 bonus XP for Bastiodon for fighting without a partner. Every trainer gets 25XP as well, +8XP for heroism.
You may increase the Loyalty score of any Pokemon in your party by 2 (or spread those points around a bit.) This can even bring a mon to 5, because that was an inspiring sight! You can also trade a point for 5XP.
The Scimitars come back, cradling their wounds and their Gauntlets, and give each of you a Super Potion and a Revive.
The Fossil Garden is completely trashed...cracked with fissures and wrinkled with damage, and it's still raining... Cofagrigus, however, ignores that and comes out of the shadows grinning from one side of the casket to the other, and offering handshakes to anyone who'll take them. It lets you keep three of those Golden Keys - they'll sell for $10k apiece.
As soon as it gets a chance, it slips down through the orichalcum door and you can hear it cackling madly. The Super Potion is used on Toya (If I remember correctly that should put him back up to 9/12 HP)
Noire gets both loyalty points, putting her at 5 Loyalty! Exp is spent as follows:
-Spira: 24 xp for his 5th point in Brawl, 6xp for his 2nd point in Stealth
-Toya: 25 xp is used to learn Pursuit!
-Nubi: If possible, I'd like to have him learn Perish Song (Could've learned it as a Misdreavus)
And if that counted as an encounter, that's another Survival+Lore (5D6) roll for Luna, 3 Spirits left until she evolves (Maybe Lucky Chant will help?..)
-----
Spira gladly accepts one of those keys, ($20,000 in collateral now!) he's read in that textbook of his about Cofagrigus' curse, so he says, "I'll accept that handshake, as long as you promise to keep that curse to yourself."

Cosh: "We can repair them back at our bases. For now, Elya and Gendry are going to retreat."
You can feel the prickling of your skin even through multiple layers. You decide prolonged contact would be a bad idea.
Cofagrigus waves off your concerns, since it's already decided to work with Heart on a new deal. He's not afraid of your weakened party.
The arm is separate from the crescent.
Giga Drain normally comes in around 37XP. It's a tutoring move for him in Gen VII, but isn't in Pokerole, so it'll be +22 for that. Total: 59XP.

"Crafting cute jewelry isn't the same as fixing a very complex electronic and mystical device. This would be more like building a PC from scratch." They are dismissive of you even offering to help, but they do accept Azu's collected pieces.
You'd need 5 points in Crafting and >5 points in Computer to fix these down here with no lab.
When Shiva asks about the moss, Cofagrigus smiles happily. He pets the moss and fawns over it, or what's left of it, indicating that it is a form of art for him, like everything in this garden. He's also happy about the Rain, hoping it will make the moss grow and recover.
Haha, you see Geodude, absconding from the rain, towing away the fossil he had his eye on. Looks like an Anorith fossil.
Cofagrigus agrees to give each of you one of his broken fossils that no longer meet his standards.
(3)(4) = 7, Helix fossil.
(2)(3) = 5, Claw fossil.
(4)(3) = 7, Dome fossil
(2)(1) = 3, Plume fossil
(4)(3) = 7, Helix fossil

Re: Golett's evolution. Cofagrigus just points doooooownward, with all four arms, indicating it's quite a ways down. He makes blinking gestures with his fingers - look for a light, he's saying.
@ Mikaruge108 - you can add 10 XP to the cost of Perish Song since it should have been learned in a prior evo.
Cofagrigus just chuckles about the curse and turns away without a handshake.

Gorged on the spirits of those slain by the ancient Genesect, Luna begins swelling and glowing with sourceless eerie light! She grows and stretches out new limbs, absorbing others, and solidifies into her new form!
Congratulations! Your Drifloon has evolved into Drifblim! In this form, a human can easily be flown around with perfect maneuverability.
The nature of her spirits means she sometimes might sense ancient tombs and battle sites, which she's doing now. She drifts down into the Kingdom of Genesect/Cofagrigus.
Hundreds of Yamask follow, a steady stream. Including the three who might go with Heart.
By the light of your Pokemon, you see a wonderful, kingly chamber the size of a warehouse. Nathan has read about an upper-level room where the Kings or early League members hosted honored guests. All the luxuries are magically preserved by an ancient Audino statue imbued with the preserving power of that Pokemon. Even the plush, thick, purple carpet is in great shape despite the dust covering it and the occasional claw mark. Small thrones or cushions of similar design are everywhere, most of them toppled or broken. There's a fountain, still running, with a crystal-clear wading pool completely ignoring the dust. The walls are set with golden statues of Glameow, Aegislash, Nidoking, Slowking, Helioptile, and Charizard. There are even a few Golett statues, but nothing about Golurk.
One golden Golett steps forward and claps twice. Two of the Golett statues come to life, bringing you purple robes and golden goblets filled from the fountain. Then they all three retire back to their niches, after bowing to you.
Cofagrigus is delighted and quickly begins setting things aright. This is his claimed Kingdom that he has joyously regained. Your attention is drawn to a strange feature of the room: the ceiling has collapsed in several places, dumping sarcophagi and lesser coffins to the floor. Cofagrigus lovingly puts a few statues in a certain niche, his own tomb.
The Yamask are streaming into the room, each hoping to find its own burial items and thus earn evolution. There are a dozen bursts of light as new Cofagrigus evolve, and soon the room echoes with celebratory cackles and HORRID wailing on the part of the failures.
@ Spiritmon - Your three Yamask are here. Two of them have managed to find their tombs and become mighty Cofagrigus. One of them is forlornly searching to no avail. You can recruit any one of those three to travel with you out of respect to your bloodline.
Tunnels lead off in all directions, but Cosh insists downward is still the way to go - through a SECOND orichalcum door in the floor, covered in hexagons. Each hexagon contains a keyhole. There are about a hundred keyholes here.

(Omph. Good thing I decided to be paranoid about Cofagrigus's Mummy Curse, if it's THAT potent! Not sure why the grinning Ghost wouldn't be at least partially intimidated by Terra and his party, since only Edmundi got really badly hurt and is left at just above 1/2 HP, while the rest of his Pokemon but Shedinja is fresh as daisies. Guess they underestimate him?)
(Then Terra would keep the Genesect Arm with him too! More Trophies for him and Oinari, and more DNA too! Concerning the Drones, somebody should go thoroughly smash them up into bits, so that the Scims can't possibly reproduce them for their own ends.)
(Alright, then Michael will learn it for 59 XP! FINALLY, he has a great Grass STAB, and one that can heal him to boot! That'll be his forth method of healing, besides Poison Heal, Leech Seed, and Drain Punch! He's ALWAYS going to be a healthy lad now!)

Luna's Evolution would have taken the rugged wanderer a bit aback, as he wouldn't have expected it to happen so suddenly after a 'long' delay from the battle, but he'd accept their presence well enough, despite the weird vibes he gets from them now.
Terra's reaction to the regally resplendent chamber of yore was......muted. He blinked a couple of times at seeing all the ancient wealth and luxury around him - and in such good condition to boot! - but he quickly grew used to his surroundings, as they reminded him heavily of his own home back in Hoen. The sagely monk's parents were fairly rich merchants, so this style and class of dwellings is not an unfamiliar sight to him - it was nostalgic, even.
He was a bit more surprised by the golden Goletts presenting him with purple robes and a drink, but he accepts them with a practiced gracious nod and dons the former while drinking the later and enjoying its taste (My guess is that it acts like a Fresh Water, and so does the fountain?). Now this place felt more like home than ever, if their were servents there to pamper them.....
As for the door, he frowns at it and all the locks that festooned its surface, before he checks the flooring to see if Angie could just burrowing under and past it unless Cofagrigus' court decide to open the way forward. Even If the door is invincible, chances are that the walls that holds it and the floor beneath it are not.

Heart was simply impress with all the luxury and wealth of such Chambers. Heart let out Atlas and Doublade to see such room. Is there any reaction of Atlas towards the golden Golurk @ Iron?
When Heart see the three possible Yamasks to join Heart, he was inclined to choose one of the already evolved ones, but then he see the third one trying to find his confim. He then ask the Confragius king. "Mighi and wise Confragius, with your permission I would like to help that Yamasks there in find his own coffin. And if is bury here I want to dig with my Steelix and find it. Or at least send my ghosts to search the room. Unless you know where it is?"

Firstly, Spira swaps Noire's Spell Tag with the Banettite.
His reaction to Luna's evolution: "We did it girl! Finally!"

Once the group gets into the room, Spira stares in awe at the lavish design of the room. He politely declines the robe but does accept the water, offering it to Nubi (assuming of course it does work [read heal] like a Fresh Water) and drinking some himself.

Oh. Well, in that case Shiva let's Gendry and Elya retreat to get their gauntlets fixed professionally, she accepts and isn't hurt by Cosh's words (not much that is, or not enough that it'd show on the outside). She's feling very lucky that her Scim Partner's fine, Arachna does indeed be highly, hiiiiighly competent even at her young age.
She delightfully packs both the Dome Fossil and petrified wood away, moar loot! Oh, and she keeps the golden key she has turned to sell it for 10.000$ later. Willl be necessary to restock on supplies!
Haha, I was having the thing Spira does in mind for Shiva, so they end up at that mytserious veil together. Shiva's staring into the water surface with awe and interest - "Noble Cofagrigus, allow me to ask....THIS is the mystical Wishing Well, is it? But what IS so mystical about it, apart from it's incomparable beauty...?" Can she maybe feel something about it with her her sixth sense, or can her Pokemon do so?
"How does the water taste like, Spira....?" She's awaiting his and his Pokemon's reaction about that before she's give it a try herself/lets her Pokemon do so. (I really hope it does indeed work like a Fresh Water, that'd come in handy!)
About these hundreds of keyholes in the door - well, the Yamask were carrying keys. Do they look like they'd fit into this door, maybe?

There is no mechanical effect from drinking the tasty fountain water. It looks like the orichalcum runs under the floor to help preserve it, but you could tunnel in noisily sideways from the fossil garden.
