[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Oh yes you did declare that use of the Shield. It glows warm on your arm and surrounds you and Glaceon with an aura only you can see properly. To everyone else it is just a subtle shimmering of fire. Even your cloak's sleeve turns out to be not blackened, but merely covered in soot. Entirely undamaged.

However, the burn would still affect you if you didn't put it out, because the Shield was not stopping secondary effects.

Glaceon enters the round, craggy den and walks around three times as though prepared to curl up and take a midday nap. Instead, he begins glowing with purple light as he gains +1 Loyalty and +1 Happiness. However, without the touch of sunlight or moonlight, he does not evolve.

I'm guessing Charizard would set you down on the island where Luxray (who I forgot to use) and Feraligatr were set down. Followed shortly after by Marc and the rest of his mons.

Feraligatr comes back with three Slowpoketails. They look a little old, so you don't think he was the one to tear them off. You do note that they are way oversized. He reports seeing a lot of Slowpoke and Slowbro when you play 20 questions with him.

From your vantage point on one of the more central islands, just across from the Volcanion sentry islands, you feel surrounded by the collected watery shipwrecks. In toward the more central islands you can see that recipient tube which captures the waterfall; lots of metal items around it too. There's kind of a moat separating each ring of islands.

After a few seconds of being on the ground, a second colossal red tube rotates into place, swirling all the water and spraying a huge fountain into the air. Between that movement and the constant heat, this water stays clean and fresh. Then the second tube sinks away again, leaving only the recipient tube and a lot of agitated water.

No kidding.  And she's going to be evolving soon, too...I wonder how quickly she's going to evolve into Reuniclus...

Could be that those slowpoke tails fell off naturally.  That happens sometimes with Slowpoke and presumably also Slowking according to the Pokedex in Gen 7.  How big are those Slowpoke tails compared to Solomon, though?

That water's probably also scalding hot initially, isn't it?  How's Feraligatr faring, swimming around in it?

Shouldn't Doublade have summoned a second Wide Guard? Also, Steelix has 6* Vitality thanks to Everlink Armor.

A bit bigger than a Solomontail.

Feraligatr is warm to the touch after swimming in it. He took no damage.

Alright! Also here other thing: According to the data of Steelix, he has a base HP of 8 when a Onix and 9 when Steelix. With the 5 Vitality his HP is 14 not 12.

Humm, in that case Shiva rummages in her stuff all while running after Primal Glaceon, once she found what she was looking for - a nice Burn Heal - she patches up her arms as best as she can. That's much better indeed, so relieving. Once more she calls out for her Pokemon to at least slow down a little! >o<

Awww this is an adorable view indeed, and Shiva can't help but smile dearly and take a picture of that behaviour of her special Eevee too. She also screeches lightly as that purple light kicked in, as that can only mean ONE thing! OH THE EXCITEMENT, she can barely handle it!!!! But.... Damn it, there down the Ruins where there's no natural sunlight nearby. What to DOOOOOO......!!

But Shiva does not have developed a highened insight on things for nothing, a spark of an idea runs through her and she quickly draws Raphael's Pokeball to summon him right here. "Raphael, Raphael, be quick and display your Morning Sun move please, right here! M-make sure that you bring us as much pseudo-sunbeams as possible, this will heal not only your wounds but also trigger somethingelse if I'm lucky...!" ( ÒωÓ)و☆ Using a small pocket-mirror that she totally carries with her on her because she doesn't dislike looking at herself, she would also carefully try to reflect these beams so that they touch Primal Glaceon's tailtip.

-----------------
Mechanics:
That...should do it, does it? I hope so, because Primal Espeon! I wonder how it looks like.
Shiva's natural talent with Psychic Types due to decending from a swamp hoodoo aka the Awakened Blood would grant the freshly evolved being yet another point in Loyalty, would it? That'd bring Primal Eevee to 4 in total, making me wonder whether Primal Sylveon is actually a real thing. (Shiva would enjoy that a lot, even if I'd maybe prefer a Primal Jolteon - she's got so many good Fairy Types already, and I actually have a Sylveon to play with already because Kee, that lucky bastard, has one as his partnermon. But regardless, Primal Sylveon!! :O )

You also have a Sylveon in the Morgusi card.

How many evolutions does Primal Eevee have remaining, do your notes say? Otherwise we'll go back and look.

The Morning Sun does work, though just barely. Glaceon continues glowing just as he was about to fade.

Primal Espeon is adorably fluffy. The tuft of fur under a normal Espeon's ear is multiplied tenfold, creating a mane or beard, which is longest under the chin and makes him look like a wise old man (which he totally is). The tail has only two forks, as normal, but both are much shaggier and it's harder to see where the fork is. In effect, he just has a tail that gets a lot thicker at the end. The gem on his forehead is not perfectly round. It looks like a naturally, freshly-mined ruby.

The fur of his back is smooth for the first time ever. Very soft and fine! But his paws are still the giant paws of Primal Eevee, instead of the dainty nubs Espeon should have.

Congratulations! Your Primal Glaceon evolved into Primal Espeon!

"Below this Layer are the hostile caverns themselves, where the earth is alive with Earthpower and can make judgments of its own. Only by exceeding these depths will we reach the King's true domain."

The sagely monk frowned thoughtfully and with great grim reservation at his technoarcanist master of a partner's assessment of the dangers ahead, his already chiseled features turning from stony to Steely, like a Mega Aggron's pecks. Already thoroughly aquianted with how fraught with perilous DOOM the Skull Ruins were, he developed a healthy respect and wariness with every minute aspect of it, so Cosh's brief warnings only strengthened those feelings and jump-started him thinking of how he'd get himself and everyone else through the trials ahead.

He was neither Intimidated nor afraid by it all, though. Despite all the danger, past, present, and future, he remained uncowed by it all, for he was not only confidant that his own Strength, training, and conviction would prevail and conquer the Skull Ruins, but that too would prove true for his friends. After all they've faced, suffered, and endured, together and not, he was certain of that. Simple as that.

The fact that the group just recently beat back and scared off a Genesect, and most of his friends had 'beaten' a full fledged Legend in Siekamater in the past and accomplished a whole bunch of other heroic feats, also lent a certain comfortable weight to his beliefs. Hard to be too scared or shaken up after dealing with all that, and quite handily too, or at least that what he thinks!

Terra would have said something back to Cosh and everyone else, once he was done with his brief ruminations.....

....But then the steaming red metal beast things made their presence and intent known, derailing any attempt of conversation in line of devoting all his not so considerable brainpower and focus in keeping him, Shiva, and the rest of their partners unscathed from their upcoming scathing, torrential assault!

Don't you just hate it when someone interrupts you out of the blue? Terra normally wouldn't have minded, being the stoic but gentle soul that he is, but when said interruptions involves being blasted out of the air and possibly dying because of that, he found he quite did. Extremely so, as a matter of fact.

Terribly rude, those ancient crimson behemoths were being. He'd have to teach them a lesson in manners, once Angie safely transported him and Shiva to the archipelago below.

Fortunately, Nathan, Shiva, Heart, and Cosh managed to do just that and more by demolishing those things, saving him the trouble of doing so himself!

Less fortunately were some of the events that happened between that and then.

He nearly had a heart attack when his archmage of a partner jumped straight down from a terminal height, prompting him to shout with wide eyes "COSH!!!" , before his supreme seraphic serpent's Evasion maneuver to avoid those things scalding blasts forced him to hunker down and pay attention to them. Still, he couldn't help but think 'Why?!' as he watched his partner rapidly plummet to the island below....

His Pokeball failing to make any difference also annoyed/alarmed him, but was promptly distracted when another boiling cascade nailed everyone, causing him to scowl and grimace briefly as it blistered his skin and turned it a throbbing, Painful shade of red. Yeouch! Luckily, Arete and Angie together had managed to blunt the worst of the Damage, and they and Shiva + her Primal Glaceon remained relatively unscathed (As Angie's Dragon Typing would have reduced the Damage she received to 0!), so it was not nearly horrible as it could have been! He'll definitely would be treating his and Shiva's Burns with 1 Burn Heal each once they made their way onto the island, though!

Speaking of which, when PG's Ancient Power made what looked to be a den on the island, the mountain of a man couldn't help but find himself intrigued/somewhat mystified by that in spite of the chaos of the current Fight, but that quickly changed to surprise/alarm when the boldly dives off Angie and tries to make his way there!

Okay, what was with not one, but two people pulling a stunt like THAT? Had they lost some of their self preservation instinct, or something? Regardless, they were doing a pretty good job of giving him a scare, when the Skull Ruins had mostly failed to do that so far!

Thankfully both of them came out seemingly unharmed from their respective leap of faiths, with the later managing to even pull of a decisive and impressive FISSURE that totaled the last remaining steaming red beast things, causing him to heave a great BIG *SIGH....* of relief.

'Good, good. Red Steam Beast Machines are destroyed. Everyone fine.....mostly. Need to check on Cosh, though, just in case. Shiva can look after her Primal Glaceon herself, and Heart can get Gustav to heal Quetzal soon, so will not worry about them......now.'

He proceeded to do just that - After first healing his/Shiva's Burns and asking "You okay now, Shiva?", of course - motioning for his 'little' girl to bring him closer to the side of the now bisected isle his powerful punching partner was on before he gently and carefully let himself down onto it. Delaying only briefly to give Angie a thankful pat and smile of his own for helping keeping him/Shiva safe (to which she returned with a pleased *SSSSzzzzz!* , as she was always glad and willing to help her papa!), he marched on over to them and place a hand on their shoulder, looking at them with unvarnished concern.

"Cosh? You okay? Fell from great height and landed hard...."

*Briefly gives them a pointed look that displayed what he thought of THAT, before it melted back into concern*

".....So am worried you.....hurt yourself or broke something. Did you?"

It should be noted that Terra is still cradling Arete with one arm across his chest while he was doing this, gently as they could. How Cosh/the living wish come true react to this, I leave to you Iron. Also, he goes and retrieves his Pokeball too, at some point before moving on with the rest of the group!

As for where everyone was flying/FLYing to next, Terra would ask Cosh and Nathan where they think they should head to nextHe himself is interested in investigating that red tube drinking up the waterfall , as well as the the metallic stuff surrounding it + the islands in general (And would say as much), but he doesn't want to do so unless they agree it's a good idea and/or give him the go ahead. Charging forward in any part of unknown and hostile territory without ample consideration and/or backup first was a rather bad idea, as was typically the case, but especially so here in the Skull Ruins.

Oh! In that case, Shiva would hold on for long enough to let Terra spray that Burn Heal on her arm before eagerly heading off to follow her Primal Glaceon to his made-up den. She gives him a appreciating pat on the shoulder and yells a hasted "Thank you!" to him on the run. "Glaceon, w.....waaaaait for meeee!! (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞"

Ah, you're right, that Morgusi Card. It's even a shiny Sylveon awwwwww! And Spectral had the potential to become a Sylveon if he would not have accompanied Shiva on trips to the outskirts of town to observe the nightsky, so I guess if Shiva's come across a Thunderstone, she'd snatch it and rejoice. Firestone would be second choice.

That's Primal Eevee's second evolution of three.

Can you roll out that Morning Sun to see how many HP Raphael heals? Additionally, does touching Primal Glaceon with a Flareglass (associated with Sun Stones) aid in his evolution on top of the pseudo-sunbeams from Morning Sun?

Waaaaaahhhh how pretty! (≧▽≦)☆ Shiva watches with a big and happy smile how her special Eevee becomes the image of a wise old man that has shapeshifted into an Espeon; and when the purple light has eventually cleared, she inevitably thought of the typical wizard archetype - male, clever and with a long white beard. He only misses a thick book or a wand, and crescent glasses like Albus Dumbledore. Such a neat Pokemon with that magical touch feels perfect for her!

What she also believes is that this fluffy fur needs a lot of grooming to stay that way, which she'll happily provide.

Very carefully Shiva reaches out to stroke her freshly evolved psychic Eeveelution on the forehead, and she squeals in delight as he not only accepts being petted but even actively rubs himself on her hand. She thinks of this gesture as both a thank-you and a vow to stay with her to protect her with his new psychic powers, even against nasty ghosts and darkness - he must have picked up that this human female is special in a way, as if there's something that makes him want to keep her safe to a higher degree than what would be considered normal for a Modern Espeon. (Loyalty to Shiva gets +1 due to her Awakened Blood)

Clearing her throat, she speaks up her special Espeon for the first time, but not to express how happy she is over his evolution as she feels like this neither needs many words nor did he picked up on that already. "Aren't you pretty and adorable as an Espeon now....~ *more strokes and pets* Come, let me cure that nasty burn you suffered from these foes, will you?" (Evolving has probably not auto-healed that, or has it? Burn Heal's used in that case.) Before they two would make their way back to the others though, Shiva kindly asks Primal Espeon to show her his new precognitive powers, just because she's curious. Primal Espeon presumably delightfully agrees and lets his crude gem embedded in his forehead shine with psychic powers: He learns how to use Future Sight and Psych Up, efficiently using up all the 54XP gathered since this point. His Ice Type'd moves loose some of their power due to no longer gaining STAB, but they'll still have pseudo-STAB due to his held Nevermelt-Ice.

Quote:Two Slowbro are opening a circular hatch in the tube, and removing something in a rush of water, but they both suddenly dive aside as you approach and weasel away into little holes in the island.
(...)
I need to know if Shiva lets Glaceon enter the little den, and I need to know where you are flying to now.

I guess Shiva would investigate the water surface in a quite similar fashion like Nathan did with Feraligatr, testing with the help of Azu whether it's safe to swim in it. These Slowbro nearby also caught her attention, especially these two exemplars that hid something away. If it's safe and possible to do so, Shiva will approach them as close as possible without starting a fight or otherwise trigger their protective instincs as she's curious WHAT they were removing in that rush of water.

Does she also get some hostile vibes from them and all the Slowpoke and -bro around? Because I'd be interested in trying to lure some exemplars into helping us cross the water and/or get useful information concerning this place from them.
