Zach looks a little disappointed that his efforts to prepare his pokemon for the cold didn't work as planned at all.  He sighs, then hands Karen her rewards.  "...well, guess I need to figure out something else...maybe you'll have a use for these, though.  They might be more effective on pokemon that aren't as vulnerable to Ice."

Karen thanks Zach for the berries (and cash ), stops by the Pokemon Center to heal up her team, and joins Ran for the Snowpoint Temple excursion!

Since Ran ended up doing an Encounter first at the Pokemon Center, he'd opt to wait right there in the lobby for everyone to get back running their various errands/burning daylight doing whatever grabbed their attention like a clingy Tangrowth, sitting at the group's reserved table by himself. Currently, he was hunched down over a thick sheet of parchment with a pencil in hand, scrutinizing it heavily as he sketched and drew.....something. Hard to tell, what with him hovering over it like Mandibuzz scouting for fresh carrion.

A few sheets of paper with notes on them and his Pokedex were off to his side, but the former was in German while the later was currently in 'Sleep Mode', so they provided no clues either.

Oh, and he had a cup of cocoa in his other hand, from which he occasionally took an absentminded sip of as he worked. That too!

Right now, Randolph is focused on his work, so it'll take somebody going over there and getting his attention to realize everyone who'd want to join him investigating Snowpoint Temple has arrived.

(Also, all things I mentioned him doing previously before he definitely took his First Encounter still happen eventually, but in the future, so to speak. So he'll make a quick stop at the Jewelry Store to get Zorn's Gift [Hiding it away for later] and Byron's Gift [Sent off to him ASAP, along with the message I specified awhile back], before heading to Snowpoint Temple with everyone and asking about what's been up with it. Brigid's Ability will be White Smoke, out of precaution of Drought being useless in there due to insufficient intel of it being sufficiently 'supernatural' to host Sunny Weather.)

Assuming Kogeki doesn't get back before Karen/attempt to get his attention, she'll get Ran's attention; (If he wasn't holding that pencil, and didn't have a short temper, I would have done a 'Guess Who')

"Uhm, Ran?" she taps his shoulder reluctantly, "Ya headed to Snowpoint Temple? 'Cuz I was thinking of goin' there myself." she twirls her bangs (funny how both my charas have the habit of playing with their hair when they're thinking.)  "I'd go by myself, but who knows what is in that temple."

HAH, that final act worked just as Kee has wanted it to work, and he also almost expected that his soloist of the sea doesn't enjoy holding back. Not in this scenario, a singer and main actor never holds back hmmmpffff! But, Aya soon calms down and displays a proud and knowing smile as she managed to defeat that firerly fox. She even starts to preen upon noticing that her ally, that sparkling blue feline Master's liking sooo much (more than her possibly?! FUUUUUU!!!!), has left the stage, she flips her long hair once more in a diva-like manner.

She doesn't really look up as Kee comes to her side, but she smiles and bows as he claps for her. "A once more great performance you displayed there, well done. VERY well done, and you even listened to me this time when I asked you to not use your trademark voice. Save it for more dramatic battles...." Aya eventually nods slowly, adjusts her beautiful scarf, then holds up her open hands to her musical caretaker as if she requests something. "Oh yes, sure.... Here." He places a few sage'n'honey drops into his sealion's hand, which she noms with delight. "Don't swallow them right away, I told you that this defies their purpose. If ya feel you need some more, lemme know." He packs the package away again into his bag, Octavia mindfully makes some room. She has indeed sought shelter in there again with only her ears poking out, and she wishes to stay there for a little longer for a rest.


Wheeeeeeee, that delight and joy is pretty obvious on the colorful musician, and he insists to shake Felix's hand with unecessary and dramatic emphasize. "Good choice, GOOD choice, that smol fox will has it weeeeeell with me I tell ya!!~ Hehehe... We've surely been lucky to run into each other, weren't we?~~*alluring smile*" He musters each of the Eggs carefully, now somewhat undisclosed which one to pick. "Hey Felix, could ya possibly tell me which of these Eggs is the closest to hatch? (That's the one Kee'll pick) Ya see, I'll probably leave town t'morrow in direction of the mountains, so having the Vulpix's firepowers on hand would be....well, handy." He pauses for a little. "Well, yes, sounds harsh to bring a small baby-Vulpix to such a place, doesn't it? Nah... Me and my Pokemon will make sure to protect her from the most nasty creatures comin' at us." Looking at these red Eggs then, he displays a smile of such warmth and so full of love that one would barely ever guess he's capable of, especially if one knows that he's uninterested in forming romantic relationships.

"Oh yeah, that'll be...this egg."  Felix points to one, though they all look the same to Kee.  "It should hatch within a day.  Careful with the newborn, though.  They won't be as attached to you, and you know how newborns are.  It'll take some time and training before they're ready to fully fight on their own.  Just make sure they stay outta trouble, yeah?"

While waiting he was walking outside of the Gym, Kogeki had a moment to talk with Nami. "Hey Nami. Are you okay girl?" Then he say another thing to her. "Well...thank you for listening to my orders back in the battle against Sneasel. You were amazing out there. Remind me in give you a long brushing in your feathers later."

Kogeki then chuckle a bit. "We gonna go very soon towards the Temple to help Ran and Karen in with their investigation. With some luck we might find some clues about what the hell is happening...and maybe find the Mega Stone from a certain proud Dramsama I know. Do you know someone with that description Nami?"

Action: Moment of bond with Nami. It is important have a deeper bond with your friends and partners.

Kogeki has Nami's attention, though she looks at him skeptically about the Mega Stone.

Musical Trainer-guy takes good look at the Egg Felix's pointing out, picking it up even and comparing it with the others with lots of 'Hmmmmm's and lots of glasses-adjusting. He also gives Felix a questioning look as he can't make out any difference between this Egg and the others, but he chooses to simply trust Felix in this case - He's a Breeder after all! "Within a day, you're sayin'... Sounds about fine, yes~"

Mechanical stuff

We'll take this Vulpix Egg IF it can be assumed that it will start with 2/2 or 1/2 in Happiness/Loyalty as opposed to the standard 3/3 for hatched Pokemon: 'Not as attached to you' worries me a little, neither me nor Kee want a sad and downcasted kitsune when I can prevent it. :C

His further words however arise a puzzled look from Kee as he stares at Felix for a solid minute before hesitantly responding: "Eh, no... I don't know how newborns are! O-Octavia came to me as within an Egg as a kind gift, but she was super-fond of me from the start on after hatching, and I never got another Egg, any Egg, since then...!!" He shakes his head slightly to clear his mind, dirty-blond hair's flying everywhere. "But, yeah, I won't have her battle alone until she's ready to do so.... Well, 's long smol Vulpix won't dislike me after hatching or bite my hand when I try to groom her, it should be okay. Say, you've maybe got anything I can take along that'd make her the seperation from your Ninetales easier and more comfortable? I don't know, maybe a blanket you used to cover the Eggs or a favored toy. I'll pay for that!" (up to 500$)

Kee's ending up at the local Lobby of the Center sooner or later with that snowy Delta Grotle by his side and a Vulpix-Egg in an Incubator in his stuff (= in his bag, not outright visible for the others just yet), and the first thing he does is let Octavia heal up for the upcoming trip by the current Nurse Joy in duty. If it's THAT Nurse Joy, Kee'll give her a deadpan look, if it's another he's giving himself all normal and kind.

Eventually he steps by Karen's side who's carefully and currently trying to get Ran's attention who's appearing so focused on his work as if the rest of the world doesn't even exist to him. At first however, he adresses Karen herself "Oh, you're comin' to the ominous Temple as well? Lovely news these are, how rejoicing!~~" and ruffles her hair a bit in a half-teasing and half-affectionate manner while giving her a playfully-alluring smile. Then Kee clears his voice and speaks up towards Randoph in a slightly louder tone: "Hey Ran, woran zeichnest du da so eifrig und so früh am Morgen?~" (Translated: Whatcha drawing there so eagerly and early in the morning?~)

If neither this nor Karen's attempt work, Kee's all up to either summon Core to get Ran's attention with an Uproar, or alternatively get his electric guitar from his dorm upstairs and perform a heavy riff right beside him. Or both.

"Newborn pokemon tend to be happier around trainers who have been carrying their eggs around for awhile.  If you had Octavia's egg for a good amount of time before she hatched, then that would probably explain why she's so attached to you.  She probably looks up to you as a father figure to some degree.  The same can be said for almost any newly hatched pokemon.  You seem to have done a good job with Octavia, so I'm sure you'll do fine with Vulpix as well."

Felix looks thoughtful at Kee's suggestion.

"...hmmm...well, that's not a bad idea, actually.  Can't say customers usually ask about those kinds of things, but having something like that might be helpful, yeah.  Here, I think I have something."

Felix goes to the back of the cart he's using to transport the eggs, moves a few of them around carefully, then starts digging through the stuff in the back.  When he finds what he's looking for, he pops back up with a blanket in his hand and a smile on his face.  He holds it up with one hand to show Kee.

"Ninetales would lay on this a lot while we were incubating the eggs back home.  It should still have her scent on it, which should hopefully help make the newborn with being more comfortable around you.  Just let them smell it a lot so that they know you're a friend. of someone familiar."

Felix can part with that blanket for $300.  He can always get a new one without needing to spend much on it, but there is a little sentimental value that needs to be accounted for as well.

Kogeki laugh a bit them tell Nami. "Hey, don't give me that look. Be a bit positive for once. Let's go to the Pokemon Center. Let's patch those wounds and give you a brush of your feathers. Gonna also ask your favorite food. You deserve."

Huh. Kee's ending up scratching the back of his head once Felix's finished with updating him about how newborn Pokemon generally are, seemingly having both fascinated him and hit a sensitive/embarassing nerve within him. "Ah. Sounds logical and reasonable.... Especially since I have no idea how long the Egg's been with the gifter before I got it, but it couldn't have been too long. I guess. ....Whatever." He doesn't want to speak further about this, but this Breeder-guy here suggesting that Octavia's seeing him as some sort of father figure will keep his mind busy for a little now. Just this moment said faeeveelution also extends one of her sparkling ribbons from Kee's bag and gently wraps it around his arm. Weird, as so far Kee's been seeing her as a mixture of the friend that stays with him despite moving often, a sibling and a lovely pet, but if being hones he DID catch himself refering to himself as the papa of this blue 'n happy Sylveon sometimes.

He's super-delighted over that blanket Felix's bringing up, his expression and stance immediately lighting up like a handful glowsticks within the darkest of clubs! "That's perfect, that's great, I'll take it, yes, thank yooouuu!!!" ^0^ He slaps Felix 400$ into the open hand without thinking twice, insisting that this is fine: "C'mon, get yourself a nice snack or drink on your way~", he adds with a smile that does not accept a 'No' in any way possible as he carefully wraps the Vulpix Egg into this blanket - it'll stay like this even when being placed into the Incubator, so that when the fox's hatching, they'd be greeted by that familiar scent and warmth of the blanket. Aww!~

That's actually all then, deal's made and Kee's feeling like having hit the jackpot by venturing to the port this morning. His delighted smile fades a little though as he sends Yurei to Bill's PC in order to keep this Egg by himself; he dislikes being without this elderly spectral bird, he really does, but be better has her safe than seeing her being frozen or defeated down that Temple.
