Gene urges everyone to be careful. "These Abomasnow are powerful, and I fear they've only become more powerful since this blizzard started. Make your way to the Sinjoh Ruins with all the caution in the world."
Gene opens the front door, and the sound of the Howling Snowstorm can be heard immediately, drowning out almost all other sound. Once again, though, Gene can somehow be heard over the snowstorm, clear as day. "Once this blizzard clears up, I'll begin making my way to the Ruins. Until then, good luck to you all!"
------------------------------------------
(...)
Kogeki, despite the blizzard impeding sight and sound alike, barely manages to just catch two of those sets of ice crystals moving and warn the party as they're about to pass them! They shift, they rise, and looming over the edges of the cliffs are two massive, ominous shadows, decorated with large ice crystals...
Then the two shadowy figures land in front of the party with a loud THUD!! that sprays snow everywhere and blocks the path to the Sinjoh Ruins, and the group is finally face to face with the cause of this unnatural snowstorm. Not one, not two Abomasnow...
![[Image: MegaAbomasnowDuel547.png]](https://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/e/e5/MegaAbomasnowDuel547.png)
...but two MEGA Abomasnow (one male, one female), both twice their normal size (they're currently each 16 feet tall), the wind and snow whipping around them as their Abilities work in conjunction to fuel the most powerful, most deafening snowstorm known to man and pokemon alike.
And with the way they're looking at the party menacingly, they do not look sane. That look in their eyes...it's like they've gone almost completely feral, like they're being driven by age old, Primal urges...but there's still a spark of some intelligence in their eyes that can be seen as well...
...but that intelligence is hardly the dominant force right now.
Primal Rampage: Decisive Battle I - Octopath Traveler (for added effect, play this music on top of the howling blizzard sound effects!)
The two Mega Primal Abomasnow bellow in unison and prepare to attack. The time for battle, for survival, has come.
(I mentioned in the Meta Thread that Ran would give up his portion of the stew for someone else's Pokemon to use, but I'm fine with him saving it for later too!)
Ran hops off his chair and marches to the door with Brigid following closely behind him (after giving Stella a good-bye smile), waving off 'Gene' confidently and cockily without looking back.
"Bah, I'm not worried. Those Snow Devils might cause us some Hail, but they'll be the ones that end up damned."
And with that, he departs to Sinjoh Ruins to face the Abomasnow!
-----
The dwarven craftsman is nearly bowled over when the two MEGA Abomasnow leap down to confront him and his partners, the shockwaves and the Howling Snowstorm they generated almost causing him to backplant into the snow and prompting him to let out a short but gnomic comment that summed up his feelings about this.
"Das Arschloch!"
He recovered impressively quickly, however, and LOUDLY barks out his his 'greeting', not giving a damn whether or not he's heard by the gelid couple of goons or not.
"There ya are, you unruly winter weeds. Heard ya been causing a snowheap of problems 'round here, so guess what?"
Randolph swept his hand forward at the pair of evergreen monstrosities, releasing Catherine and beckoning forward Brigid in one motion to face them!
"IT'S TIME TO DO SOME SPRING CLEANING!!!"

(So much for my Supersonic+T-Wave Strategy...)
Karen is wincing at the howling of the blizzard in her ears, she ends up shouting this, as she can barely hear herself over the howling winds; "Magneton, go, and Skorupi, time for your debut! Magneton, set up Electric Terrain, then follow that up with Thunder Wave, and Magnet Bomb! Skorupi, Poison Fang and Poison Tail!"
Magneton
Electric Terrain
Accuracy: Special(3)+Fight(3)+Channel(3)-Actions(2)= 7D6
Notes: For the next 4 rounds, all Electric Attacks will deal 1 extra dice of damage, grounded targets can't be put to sleep
Thunder Wave
Accuracy: Dex(2)+Fight(3)+Channel(3)-Actions(4)= 4D6
Notes: Paralyzes target, targets M-Abomasnow A.
Magnet Bomb
Accuracy: Dex(2)+Fight(3)+Channel(3)-Actions(6)= 2D6
Damage: Special(3)+STAB(1)+Metal Coat(1)+2= 7D6+SE(1)
Notes: Never Fail, Targets M-Abomasnow A
Skorupi
Poison Fang
Accuracy: Dex(3)+Fight(3)+Brawl(3)-Actions(2)= 7D6
Damage: Strength(3)+STAB(1)+2= 6D6 SE(1)
Notes: Badly Poison (5), targets M-Abomasnow B
Poison Tail
Accuracy: Dex(3)+Fight(3)+Brawl(3)-Actions(4)= 5D6
Damage: Strength(3)+STAB(1)+2= 6D6 SE(1)
Notes: High Critical, Poison (1), targets M-Abomasnow B

++Small flashbacks++
(07-25-2019, 04:06 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: (...)His expression shifted into marked surprise and bewilderment when the sour dandy suddenly broke down in tears over his Vulpix hatching, not a little taken aback by the way were acting, both uncharacteristically and in general. Personally, he honestly didn't see what was the big deal a Egg hatching was in any case, and didn't really consider how or why anyone would get overly emotional about it (Save for the actual Pokemon's mother/father) the way Kee was. A little excited and/or proud, yes, and maybe a wee bit haughty about it, but not teary eyed and sentimental.
On the whole, he was just confused and a little frustrated that he just didn't get it. Insightful as he was, Ran wasn't nearly as Empathetic or in touch with his sympathetic side (let alone anyone elses), so stuff like that could and probably would pass him by.
Still, though he couldn't fully get on-board with the whole display Kee was putting on for their Vulpix, he did at least understood it was significant to them, and so respectfully turned his head away from the pair and let them have their moment, a thoughtful frown on his lips the whole time as he glanced at the two from the corner of his eyes.(...)
(That's outta-chara due to unrevealed background-stuff. The scenery at the cabin itself already messed with him in a positive way, Vulpix's hatching simply gave him the rest.)
(07-25-2019, 04:06 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: (...)Brigid, on the other hand, had a wholly different reaction to the fiery fox's hatching, instantly perking up and trudging over to the colourful musician, stretching her neck up to both closely examine and gently smile down upon them. Hello there, little flame. How are you doing?
She then gazed up at Kee, sharing with them the same smile and a certain special camaraderie. A precious new flame has been ignited in this cold world, so much like this one's but different in their own special and wonderful way. One that must be nurtured and cared for, until she can sustain her Fire all by herself. This one hopes her trainer is fully prepared for such a responsibility, but if not, then their aid would be happily and freely given.(...)
Awwww, that causes Kee to dry his eyes in a sweeping motion and pet Bridgid's head in a fond gesture, he even throws a glance very careful smile over to Ran.

That howling hailstorm, or rather its effect of blocking out any sound, is something interesting and weird for Kee as he's actually familiar with making out specific sounds even in the loud atmosphere of a club or during a passionate concert, it's not that hard once being used to it/knowing how to do that. Means, this storm here is indeed an highly extraordinaire one, and he expectes said Abomasnow to jump at them any moment. His feelings of ALL of this, everthing from the Braille Messages to the cabin and a freakin' stage for Arceus Themselves, being heavily surreal increase, maybe he died in that icy cave yesterday and all of this is a test to enter afterlife???
...Guess he was too concentrated on pondering about that however to spot the Abomasnow beforehand. Or the snow's just pretty. Nevermind.
Kee does not flinch as the snowy monsters make themselves SEEN and HEARD, in fact he gives them a neutral an unafraid expression. He'd say something about being sorry for having to do this to them but it's inevitable as they are standing in the way, but he saves himself that breath. Instead, he catches the smol kitsune's attention who's curled up in the blanket and safey in his arms by petting over her back. He adreses her in a soft voice, positive that she can hear him if he adresses her directly and from just a few inches. "Hey there, Stella. Yes, you're still a cub, but there's POTENTIAL within you and even cubs can fight to defend themselves in the wild. C'mon, concentrate on me, focus on that potential you inherited from your masterpiece of mother, try to align it with my own vibes and earthpower. This hailstorm - PLEASE TRY TO CLEAR IT. You don't have to attempt to overwrite it with sunshine right now, but just.... end it." (Aka, here's the cue for Drought Ability to trigger. If I aim to let Stella solely end the hailstorm and not create sunny weather, is there an increased chance of succeeding or similar? Just wondering.)
What Kee also does it nod to that smol lavender bird perching on his right shoulder, her plummage ruffled to the max. in an attempt to keep herself warm. "Protection is needed, Yurei, as I don't want to see anyone frozen solid in this fight. He'll grant us such protection if you summon him to me." Yurei nods slowly, then opens her wings and takes off into the air - or tries to do so as best as possible in that weather.
Means, Kee's choice of Pokemon for this are Stella/newly-hatched Vulpix and Yurei/Oricorio Sensu. What he's doing/planning to do is bold, rather bold actually, but he can be quite the spirited daredevil if the situation's right (probably a trait he got from his parents? Most likely so), and this fight must be won regardless the costs.

Any attempts to Intimidate these Mega Primal Abomasnow automatically fail. Heracross backs up, looking up in awe at the two gargantuan opponents before him. Then he gets in a battle ready position, his Guts triggered by the Poison that had been inflicted on him earlier by Randolph's Skuntank. These overgrown snowmen shall feel his wrath!!!
If Stella spends the entire Round focusing on maintaining her Drought and does nothing else, I'll amplify the potency a little (equivalent to a temporary +1 Special)
The Snowstorm Round 1 Initiatives
Nagi: (5) + 9 = 14
Abomasnow B (Female): (5) + 8* = 13
Catherine: (4) + 8 = 12
Heracross: (3) + 9 = 12
Skorupi: (3) + 8 = 11
Stella: (3) + 7 = 10
Yurei: (3) + 6* = 9
Abomasnow A (Male): (1) + 8* = 9
Brigid: (1) + 7 = 8
Magneton: (2) + 5 = 7
I have orders for Karen's pokemon already, so now I need everyone else's!

(Wasn't trying to Intimidate the Abomasnow, just wanted to show them Ran meant business!)
Short of temper and keen of eye, Ran almost instantaneously determined the tempo of the showdown between his group and the Snow Devils, and said as much to everyone by SHOUTING IT AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS!
"That evergreen lass is the fastest of the pair, so take her down pronto!"
He then barked out his own orders for Brigid and Catherine, pointing at both Abomasnow in rapid succession!
"BRIGID, FULL POWER INFERNO ON THE SNOW LASS! CATHERINE, SWEET KISS ON THE HAIL MAN, THEN POWDER SNOW ON BOTH ABOMASNOW, AND DRAINING KISS ON THE SNOW LASS! PRUNE THEM BOTH, GIRLS!"
Orders: Brigid will do a Single Action Conditional Willpoint INFERNO on the Female Abomasnow for the first Round, and then act to provide cover for Kee/Stella for the rest of the Round hence forth, while Catherine will focus on 'seducing' the Male Abomasnow with a Conditional Willpoint Sweet Kiss to Confuse it, the hit both hard with Powder Snow and Draining Kiss on the Female A. Trigger both the Fire and Fairy Gem upon hit, and Brigid will get a Super Potion if she's brought to - 1 Pain before INFERNO and can't use the Move with the Pain; Otherwise, use a Potion on Kee if he takes 3 Damage or more from the Abomasnow (Since he IS carrying Stella into battle - Ran may not like him very much now, but he's not going to let them Faint on him!). If Brigid is Frozen before she can use INFERNO, use Aspear Berry on her to cure the Status before she uses it. Now, let's make like a lumberjack and chop down those overgrown Christmas trees!
Moves:
INFERNO (Female A.)
Accuracy: DEX (2) + Fight (3) + Channel (2) + Single Action (2) - 5 Accuracy = 4D6 Dice (+ Conditional Willpoint)
Damage: SPE (2) + 4 + STAB + QE (+2) = 7D6 + 2 Base Damage + Fire Gem Bonus
Effect: Auto Inflict Burn 3; Ran/Brigid will NOT hold back the Lethality of this Move or the Burn
Sweet Kiss (Male A.)
Accuracy: Cute (4) + Contest (3) + Allure (3) - 3 Accuracy - 2 Actions = 5D6 Dice
Effect: Inflict Confusion on Male Abomasnow ( - 2 Accuracy, Inflicts 1 Damage on Target Upon Missing Attack, going by the Newest Pokeroles rules for the Status)
Powder Snow (Both)
Accuracy: DEX (2) +Fight (3) + Channel (3) - 4 Actions = 4D6 Dice
Damage: SPE (4) + 2 + STAB = 7D6 Base Damage
Effect: Spread Move; Freeze Chance is irrelevant against Ice types
Draining Kiss (Female A.)
Accuracy: Insight (4) + Contest + Allure - 6 Actions = 4D6 Dice
Damage: 6D6 Base Damage + Fairy Gem Bonus
Effect: Recover 1/2 Damage dealt as HP (Min 1); Contest Move, so can't be Evade, right?
Note for @ Mikaruge108 : Might be for the best to Paralyze Male Abomasnow at your first Action instead of Electric Terrain, as then Magneton and Brigid would outspeed on their subsequent Actions (or next Round in the fire turtle's case) and it would be suffering from a total - 4 Accuracy to its Rolls (As Most of its Moves rely on DEX) . Just a suggestion, though!

Awww, that's generous and something he'll appreciate.
Quote:(...)If Stella spends the entire Round focusing on maintaining her Drought and does nothing else, I'll amplify the potency a little (equivalent to a temporary +1 Special)(...)
That she'll do, bringing her to 5*Special. The whole time Kee'll speak encouraging words and bring calming strokes to her while she's still wrapped in the comfort of that blanket; only her head pokes out just enough to observe the scene. (I wonder, will that bring her additional cover?) HE HIMSELF acts as a shield for incoming attacks targeting her. The very moment she or he reach -2 Pain however, he'll book it, recall the fox as a Trainer Action and get the heck out of these snowy monster's range as while he's a bold daredevil now, he's not a foolish nor careless daredevil.
Means, she's not going to declare any attacks herself. Conditionally though, if there's a tie between her and the Abomasnow's Special Stat, she'll use 2 Actions in this Round to create her weather, aka to not suffer that nasty hailstorm. This does not need any Accu Roll as stated here.
Yurei, being the mindful dancer like she is, has started to circle all the so-far-summoned battlers in utterly graceful movements, watching for too long though may cause a hypnotic or trancelike state as she's subliminally calling for protection from the ghost/spirit world before daring to attack herself.
Accuracy Roll Yurei's Safeguard 1: 4 Special + 4 Fight + 3 Channel - 2 Actions = 9d6
Effect: Grants protection from Status Ailments for 4 Rounds, but can't cure previously inflicted ones.
Secondary Effect: Creates a nice mystical veil, hinting that the summoning succeeded. It's mainly to prevent anyone from being frozen solid.
Accuracy Roll Yurei's willpowered Air Cutter 2: 2*Dext + 4 Fight + 3 Channel - 4 Actions = 5d6 +(6*) due to 1 spent Willpoint
Damage Roll: 4 Special + 2 power of the move + STAB = 7d6 +1 autodamage due to SE
Additional notes: Hits both foes at an increased Crit Chance.
Additionally, Dancer Ability may trigger if anyone on the whole battlefield decides to dance.

"Nagi! Focus your efforts in make that female Abomasnow sleep right away! Then use Hidden Power fire and Nightmare against her! If she awake use Nigh Shade instead!" Gonna use will point on Hypnosis to make sure it will hit. Don't forget Leftovers.
"Heracross! Send a barrage of 4x Arm Thrust!" Gonna use Will Point in the last one to have enough dice to not cause a luck dice and screw myself. Don't also forgot Kings Rock effects.

Stella's Drought, even as strong as it is due to all the focus she's putting into maintaining it and dispelling this miserable weather, is not strong enough to dispel it completely. However, the winds do still die down a little, as Stella's Drought still has at least SOME effect because of how potent it is! Sound moves will no longer fail when used as long as Drought is being maintained in this manner, but it is still Hailing.
The Snowstorm Round 1
Nagi's the fastest thing on the battlefield thanks to his Prankster Ability! The Abomasnow don't know what's hitting 'em until it's too late!
Hypnosis 1 (as Iron said previously, Spirit, if you could actually post concrete numbers when you have the time, it would help me a LOT more)
9 - 4 - 2 = 3
(2)(2)(4) (6*)
Abomasnow B fell Asleep!
But they aren't going to stay that way for long! These Abomasnow have a whopping 6* Insight while Mega Evolved!
Wake Up B 1
(6)(5)(1)(5)(6)(2) 4 successes accumulated
Abomasnow A, meanwhile, has jumped ahead in the Initiative order to hit the vulnerable birdie with hunks of ice!
Ice Shard A 1
3* Dex + 4 Fight + 3 Channel - 2 = 8
(6)(4)(3)(5)(5)(3)(6)(3) The snowstorm makes them hit faster than expected! Crit!
5* Str + 2 Pow + STAB - 3 + SE + 2 Crit = 7 D6 + 1
(6)(2)(2)(2)(1)(2)(1) Luckily, the ice only clips Yurei's wings. Maybe an unseen force was misdirecting the projectiles...or maybe it was just the wind changing direction.
Yurei takes 1 damage 6/7 HP
Catherine is not one to support shenanigans! ...unless they're her own, of course!~
Sweet Kiss 1
(5)(6)(3)(2)(1)
Abomasnow A became Confused! -2 Accuracy
Heracross fearlessly (and recklessly) charges at the...(3)...Male Abomasnow, as Kogeki did not specify which Abomasnow to target with the barrage of attacks.
Arm Thrust 1-4
10 - 2/4/6/8 = 8/6/4/2
(6)(4)(4)(2)(1)(4)(2)(1)
(6)(5)(1)(6)(5)(4) Crit.
(4)(1)(2)(4)
(5)(2) (6*) Hit 3 times, Crit 1 time
6* + 1 + STAB - 6* Def + SE (+ 2 Crit) = 2 D6 + 1 per hit (4 D6 for one)
(1)(4)
(6)(3)(4)(4)
(3)(6)
(4)(1) Abomasnow A takes a total 10 damage!!! 9/19 HP -2 Pain Yowzers!
(1) (1) (2) (2) No Flinch
A lesser pokemon would have been felled by such a furious assault, but these Abomasnow are tough! As soon as they're damaged that severely, the wounded Abomasnow bellows once more, angered!!
In comes Skorupi to further debilitate the female Abomasnow! That only seems to make the male one angrier, too!
Poison Fang 1
(6)(1)(4)(3)(3)(4)(2)(2)
(6) Abomasnow B takes 2 damage 17/19 HP -1 Pain
(4)(3)(6)(4)(2) Abomasnow B was Badly Poisoned!
Stella is concentrating on her Drought.
Yurei dances, calling upon the spirits to protect everyone from harm...no wind shall stop this dance from working...
Safeguard 1
(5)(3)(1)(3)(2)(3)(4)(3)(2)
A mystical veil protects Yurei and her allies!
And finally, it's Brigid's turn. And Randolph's wrath shall be made manifest.
LETHAL INFERNO
(4)(1)(1)(1) (6*) Ew, that was a terrible roll. However, she still calls upon the power of her Fire Gem to turn up the heat, consuming the gemstone's power in the process! It becomes a dull red color.
(5)(4)(2)(2) Abomasnow B takes 4 Lethal damage! 13/15 HP -1 Pain (4 Lethal)
Abomasnow B was Burned 3!
Karen's lack of coordination with the group doesn't seem like it's going to work out very well, though...
Electric Terrain 1
(5)(4)(5)(2)(2)(3)(3)
An electric surge covers the ground! Abomasnow B wakes up! Oops. Guess Karen was a little too worried about Grass Whistle.
Top of the Round, and Nagi's on top of things once more no matter what these Abomasnow decide to do! Fire rains from the skies in an attempt to clear them once and for all!
Hidden Power Fire 2
(5)(3)(4)(5)(3)
3 + 4 + STAB - 6* + QE = 2 D6 + 2
(5)(6) Abomasnow B takes 4 damage! 9/15 HP -2 Pain (4 Lethal)
The weather still doesn't become Sunny. Looks like these Abomasnows' snowstorm is too potent to dispel entirely while both of them are still standing!
Abomasnow B is angrier now as well! And she makes her displeasure KNOWN, targeting all of those who have either done damage to her or who might be a significant threat if left unchecked. She completely ignores Stella since Drought hasn't taken full effect and the baby Fire type isn't participating in the battle directly yet.
The wind howls and picks up in speed as Abomasnow B begins to intensify the snowstorm in her Primal rage!
BLIZZARD B 2 on Brigid, Skorupi, Nagi, Magneton, and Heracross
10 - 3 - 4 - 2 = 4
(2)(6)(4)(5)
5* + 5 + STAB - 2/3 = 9/8 D6 (- 1 damage on everyone except the bugs)
(6)(5)(3)(6)(2)(4)(4)(5) (2)
(-) (-) (-) (-) (-)
Brigid takes 5 damage! 3/8 HP -2 Pain
Skorupi takes 6 damage and faints!
Nagi takes 5 damage! 2/7 HP -2 Pain
Magneton takes 5 damage! 4/9 HP -2 Pain
Heracross takes 6 damage! 2/8 HP -2 Pain
Catherine takes advantage of this wind to whip up a small one of her own.
Powder Snow 2
(5)(1)(1)(5)
(4) Both Abomasnow take 1 damage 8/19 and 8/15 (4 Lethal) -2 Pain
(-)
Heracross has used all of his actions.
Skorupi has fainted.
Stella is still maintaining Drought.
That means Yurei is next! She also does a little wind manipulation by flapping her fanned wings with all her might, emboldened by the presence summoned by Safeguard and the success so far!
Air Cutter 2
(5)(3)(2)(2)(2) (6*)
(1) Both Abomasnow take 1 damage 7/19 and 7/15 (4 Lethal) -2 Pain
Abomasnow A finally gets another chance to move...and he does the same thing as Abomasnow B, hitting high priority targets with another howling, frigid wind!
BLIZZARD A 2 on Brigid, Magneton, Heracross, Nagi, and Yurei
10 - 2 - 2 - 4 = 2 D6

Brigid takes 4 damage and faints!
Magneton takes 4 damage, but hangs on with Sturdy! 1/9 HP -3 Pain
Heracross takes 6 damage and faints!
Nagi takes 5 damage and faints!
Yurei takes 6 damage and faints!
These gales are massively powerful, but the group's remaining conscious pokemon keep pushing on despite it all! Magneton will make sure that one of these Abomasnow is going to have a hard time doing this again!
Thunder Wave 2
(1) ...or not. The wind has disoriented the trio of magnet pokemon so much, they lost track of where their targets were!
Nagi has fainted, which means Abomasnow B now gets to attack with impunity! Knowing there's an opposing Ice type on the field still, she strikes with something that should be effective against them, while also attempting to finish off Magenton!
Razor Leaf B 3
10 - 2 - 6 - 1 = 1
(4)
5* + 2 + STAB - 3*/5 = 5/3 D6
(2)(5)(6) (1)(6)
Catherine takes 3 damage 4/7 HP -1 Pain
Magneton takes 1 damage and faints
Catherine's the last pokemon on the allied side standing, and she's going to make damn sure that she stays that way!
Draining Kiss 3
(5)(6)(6) The Fairy Gem glows with a pink light, before becoming a dull pink color to indicate it has been consumed. I'll add the bonus 3 dice after Abomasnow's Defense is applied, so this is going to be a 4 D6 damage roll!
(6)(5)(2)(3) Abomasnow B takes 2 damage 5/15 HP -2 Pain (4 Lethal)
Catherine recovers 1 HP 5/7 HP -1 Pain
Heracross, Skorupi, and Yurei have all fainted. Stella is still concentrating.
Abomasnow A tries to attack, but the winds buffet and disorient him so much that he ends up walking face first into the cliff face instead!
Needle Arm A 3
10 - 6 - 2 - 2 = 0 Not enough dice.
Abomasnow A takes 1 damage. 6/19 HP -2 Pain
Brigid and Magneton have fainted.
Burn 3: Abomasnow B takes 3 Lethal damage! 2/12 HP -2 Pain (7 Lethal)
Toxic Poison: (5)(5)(4) Abomasnow B is fine for now.
All 4 trainers and Stella take 1 damage from the Hail.
It's been a hard fought Round, but victory is within sight already because of it!
