[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
No. Chance. In. Hell. Heart would problably be against such decision and problably jump to argue to such decision to the point of challenge Nidoking and Nidoqueen to a battle for his friend freedom.

We could offer the Red Stones we have among us who can summon Azelf in exchange for the sword. A legendary item for another. I think thats a fair trade.

Mate.....if it's necessary to get The Sword (And Nathan/Dragonstrike ain't going to be leaving without it, or let Cosh have a go at getting it), then I'm more than willing to sack my character for that, and I'd expect you and Heart to respect Terra's/mine decision. Of course, that's assuming Nidoking bites at the offer, or Iron would allow it to begin with.

Don't think trading the Red Chain is an option, for multiple reasons. Namely, only the group really knows how to use it, and I don't think Shiva would be willing to give up her Gem to Nidoking in exchange for The Sword (Not unless she is the one that gets to wield it, at any rate) . Moreover, the RC is a one use Item, while The Sword is infinite, so no matter how great the former is, once it's burned , it's gone and Nido is left poorer for it.

That, and I'd really rather not reveal to the Scims that Nathan has potential connections with the Lake Trio unless absolutely necessary.

So....Dragonstrike.....Iron.....is my idea okay with you, mates? Trading Terra away for The Sword? As I said, I'm completely fine with that, if it's what it takes.

I'd rather avoid that. As Iron said, we should try other ideas first before jumping straight to ending a character's participation in the game.

First, what other ideas are their that could compensate Nidoking adequetely for The Sword? Plain old Held Items ain't going to cut it, and I don't think any regular service to them would suffice, unless it carried the guarantee that it would prevent all troubles that would necessitate The Sword's use, so what else could we offer them, other than Terra's servitude?

But you would concede to the option if necessary, right Dragonstrike?

Quote:I still have the Houndoom Fang to cause Flinch on foes, and could be useful to him to give Flinch in every strike. We could also offer Heart Metal Tag who is capable of repel ghost of the Gastly line who could be useful to protect them against this kind of Pokemon. Or even the Miracle Rood who could give him access to Grass Knot, who could give Nidoking a advantage against Water-types, his main weakness. I could also raise my Earthpower again, and together with someone who have at least 1 poin of Earthpower, I could try make a circle of protection in their Kingdom. Since this is one of the advantages of the Earthpower in Level 7.

------------------------------------

Well, Terra has the Poison Barb he got from 'defeating' Giga Tentacruel, or the Life Orb he has, but I doubt that either/both would be fitting compensation for The Sword given the power it has.

So, the whole idea here is giving Nidoking things that can be used to help protect the Nido City. From the sounds of things, anything that could be useful in battle would be qualified. Of course, the more powerful something is and the more easily it can be used in conjunction with everything else, the more value it'll have.

Without the Sword, though, a single pokemon fending off all others is obviously going to be a lot less feasible, so that's where the value in giving up multiple useful things in battle would lay.

The Miracle Rod would probably be a VERY useful tool for whichever Nido uses it, given the size of everything down there probably allowing Grass Knot to consistently be at its maximum power. Particularly since it would help against those Water, Rock, and Ground pokemon.

Poison Barb's probably good if they wish to go for using Poison Jab and the like. Soft Sand, Silver Powder, and other type boosting items that a Nido could make good use of might also be good things to trade in if they aren't needed.

Life Orb is universally great since it boosts everything, though the Nidos should be warned to use it with caution if they take it.

Concerning Earthpower, I'm not sure if two people working together could do what a single skilled individual could, given that neither of them would have the necessary power to create a warded area in the first place. Might be worth a try, but I'm not sure how well that might work...

Part of the reason I suggested teaching them ROCK SMASH and FLASH is that they could be taught to a large number of pokemon, allowing them to cooperate to take down larger threats, instead of relying on a single powerful individual. If we can emphasize that point, we can probably give more value to a bunch of weaker items/services.

The point about Miracle Rod is a great one. I love when an item I designed two years ago gains greater significance.

And what about normal TMs? If anyone has any unused ones that a Nidoking could use, that'd definitely hold some value.
