[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
Quote @PhantomUnderYourDesk : ' Unfortunately, Shiva would never agree to stay behind for tutoring the Nido, that'd be too off-character and too dangerous. But, the assumption that it'd take her 'at least a couple of days' to tutor Fissure to the King is wrong, I've got 15 dice in a Tutor Roll, 12 successes are needed to teach a damaging move, so it'd take me only one or two Encounters unless the rolls end up terrible, especially if Cosh can aid in that. Shiva wants at least Terra to stay with her though for protection if you like to move on, or we can all choose to spend Encounters here. '

Probability dictates that even with a 15D6 Tutor Roll it'd take at least two days to teach just one or the Nido royalty Fissure (If that's possible), as you can only Tutor a Pokemon a Move once per day/three Encounters, and that's not counting (1)(1) unless Shiva uses Lucky Chant before/during every Tutoring Session. Still, if Shiva can teach 'em the Move in a couple of day, I won't complain! And of course Terra would stay behind with her while she Tutors the Nidos, as he knows those beasts frighten her and would do everything in his power to keep her safe and in comfort around them.

With good rolls and Lucky Chant and a 15 D6 dice pool, it could very well be possible to teach Nidoking Fissure (GM approval pending) between the last encounter of today and the first encounter of tomorrow. Of course, bad luck could lengthen the time needed to be spent there, and we can't linger for too long.

I think it could be worth a shot, though.

Sounds perfect. Since we probably need to rest we could stay in their City to rest. Another item we could give up is the Everlink Armor. It's a really powerful item, but I willing to sacrifice in the name of the greater good. I just wish there was a way to find the guy who changed Xatu ability. @Iron is that possible when we return to Snowpoint and find the guy again?

Second, Heart could stay behind instead to give Shiva the protection she needs. Terra is important to act as a diplomatic between our Group and the Scims.

This is a excuse for me to take a break from the forums for a while. I not so much present as I was before. I could also help with the tutoring thing. I have 35 XP still and I migh be able to raise a few stats to get some extra chance in teach Nido a certain move who appeal them: Ice Punch. A great move in therms of defense against Ground and Flying.

Everyone, how this plan appeal?

A question though: What is the roll of Tutoring thing?

Ice Punch isn't in Nidoking's movelist in the book, Spirit. Needs GM approval first.

Move Tutoring roll is Insight + Knowledge + Move Tutoring (need at least 1 point in MT). However, only one MT roll can be attempted per day.

*Ahem* You're mixing the two campaigns, Spirit. But no, we won't be seeing Sid, the East Wind again. Not during the course of the campaign's story, at any rate.

I just remembered something: Nidoran male and Nidorino can naturally learn Horn Drill. Maybe teaching Nidoking Fissure is unnecessary, and all we have to do is help Nidoking learn/improve his ability to use that move.

? Why so certain about not seeing Sid again? I see no reason why we should not spot him dashing around on his roller blades somewhere again, that's GM's discretion.

Also @Spiritmon, you can save your XP concerning that Tutoring Idea of yours, first because Ice Punch isn't in the corebook's movelist of a Nidoking and second that I, well, actually don't enjoy it if too many playable characters start developing skill in Pokemon Tutoring, it's Shiva's and partially/to a lesser degree Nathan's thing. I kinda enjoy how something that I made up to customize her further has set loose the whole thing of tutoring, but let's not overdo it, okay?

I was about to ask something in-game about Fissue and I'll still do, but interesting thought. How do you imagine helping the King to learn/improve this skill?

Because he's Kazesidhe, the East Wind, and that is what he told Nathan. He ever moves westwards, never north, south, or east. When we last saw him, he was in Elanor, Creshire's western most city/town. His final destination is the west coast, and then we won't see him again for a long, long time...

The easiest way would be to straight up fight him so he could gain some exp! Or a series of training sessions that focus on Brawling and horn based attacks, though that'd take longer.

This is also something the other male Nidos could utilize.
