Nidoking carelessly demonstrates a Horn Drill on a hapless Nidoran. Thus, Fissure is of limited use, simply adding a bit of range. But teaching it to a larger number of his subjects would help.

Aqua Jet is not on the list, nor Ice Punch. Toxic is actually something they can and will use.

Nidoking adds the Soft Sand to his tribute pile after testing it out with a Drill Run. Same with Poison Barb, although he has a few of those available already. Houndoom Fang is interesting enough to have a bit of value.

A demonstration with the Miracle Rod makes Nidoking intrigued, because most of the dangerous foes are indeed large. He'll personally wield that.

A Circle of Protection would be great, but a single person needs to have Level 7 to achieve that. Or like 20 people of lower level who can do it as a ritual, maybe.


Toxic, Soft Sand, Poison Barb, Houndoom Fang, and most especially the Miracle Rod are enough to make Nidoking certain you can come to some kind of agreement. But he still wants some kind of reliable, general purpose improvement to himself or his kingdom, in addition to those held items. Like teaching a small squad of Nidorino to learn Horn Drill or Fissure, or something of equal value.

Heart then show the Metal Tag. "This...is the Metal Tag. A item capable of make all the Gastly family go away with it's simple show. And since they are really strong ghosts, this could be used. My friend Shiva have the knowledge in make other types of tags to make other kinds of ghosts go away. With the right materials."


Heart also offer another Poison Barb and a little Nidorino doll. "Don't let this thing confuse you. This can be used as a quick decoy in case you get swarm by really powerful foes stronger than you and you want save your subjects. This can be only used once so be careful."

Nidoking is interested in all these, especially the Everlink Armor which appeals to his knightly side. He passes the Miracle Rod to Nidoqueen to use as a scepter, and dons the armor himself. He passes out the Tag, and the Barbs, and the Soft Sand to others in his party. They are the two who need to learn better Moves.

If each of you will spend an Encounter here, helping them gain XP, you can rest here afterward and Nidoking says he will pull the Sword in the morning.

Nathan and Gallade don't take long to oppose that. Gallade in particular finds that suggested course of action completely unJustified.

"We've reached a peaceful solution already, and we can live without a few items. Or do you want Nidoking to pull the Sword out right now and use it on you and those you're leading in response to the rebellion and chaos? You guys are going to get seriously hurt if that happens. And if we lose, we lose our chance at the Sword and the whole region is doomed to suffer an alien invasion."

Not that Nathan and Gallade are objecting out of concern for Cosh's safety...moreso Kelda and the other possibly redeemable Scims' safety.
