[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(08-04-2019, 08:08 AM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Sadly, I don't think the Sword is the only issue here.

*sigh*...it's at times like these when I wonder if our characters are truly friends...

At the very least, Terra's Nathan best friend, and Terra's friends with Shiva and Heart (And Spira, to a lesser extent), and Shiva's at least on mostly friendly terms with Nathan, so I'd say the group is friendly with each other (If on a very sequertous basis).

Going to post myself soon (Starting with Iron's Day 82 post), since I'm back to my old self enough to resume doing so. Spoiler Alert, Terra's staying in the Ruins to help Cosh, as he won't abandon his partner like that, even if his group technically accomplished their goals now.

Didn't really hear about this, but if so that make me feel better about things. If there's anything OP I want, it's either Plot Armor for Terra/One of his Pokemon, or have more than *6 VIT for him. The tankier he is, the better imo!

It also depends how you define the term 'friend', that can vary a lot between people. Our characters are truely friends with their Pokemon though, not with all, but with the frequently used!~

Related to the OP-Items mentioned, I kinda started to think about what will happen with the Artifacts once we made it (I just assume we'll do in this instance) - will we keep those? Will they 'return' into the Ruins themselves? Will something completely crazy happen? It's fun to think about. If these OP Items are for unlimited use and can stay with a chara, I'd like for the Artifacts to do that too, and the other way round.

This is actually something I've been thinking about very carefully ever since the group decided to ally with the Scims. Bar plot shenanigans, I see no reason that keeping the items wouldn't be possible unless the League wishes to hold onto them for various reasons.

Which might be a problem, given 1-2 possibly shady people (including Cosh) are going to have two of the Artifacts...

Question about the Sword, @Iron: if I use it to blast through a difficult encounter, would it reduce the exp earned?

Given the nature of The Artifacts, it's not like the League could really do anything with them anyway even if they did take them, so the most likely case is that everyone that has one will be allowed to keep it, but either monitered in some way to make sure they don't abuse them and/or deputize them in some way to use it on their behalf (if need be). Probably won't be able to use the Artifacts in League Battles legaly either, except possibly in the Elite Four and higher tier battles.

*Shrugs* Nothing can really be done about the Scims keeping their Artifacts, especially if they get a share of that hero status in helping save the region. Won't automatically forgive all their crimes (Maybe), but it'll go a long way in making them/their allies more appealing and less villianous to the public. Heck, with Deoxys gone (hopefully), they won't nearly have the pressing motivation to be utter bastards, since the threat that prompted them to be so amoral is neutralized and they can just focus on being secretive tech wizards. The Water Scimitars, though, and other Scims that have a grudge against our group, though.....those likely will pose troubles for everyone, no matter what.

This is now getting me wondering about Terra's own living Plot Device Arete use in Gym Battles and higher, and whether or not the League would want to confiscate them from him.....

I beg to differ. I've been thinking about this. They make themselves more than human through artificial means, yes? So what if we remove the very thing that's making them more than human in the first place? Without their gauntlets, they aren't anything more than a plain ol' human.

It'll probably take a lot more than beating Deoxys to absolve them of their crimes. The end does not justify the means.

Hmmm...that's definitely some food for thought...

Cosh is at the very least More Than Human without his Gauntlet, as hinted by Iron in a post near the beginning of the Skull Ruins plunge. He'll be able to keep his Artifact even if his magiteck device is bust, so that idea's not exactly going to work out so swell. Even if he is just a plain human without the Gauntlet, I doubt the Artifact is suddenly going to unbond to him upon losing the status, and moreover Terra wouldn't allow his Gauntlet to be broken unless they broke faith and peace with the group first.

Perhaps, but it'll go a long way of making them more likable/redeemable in the eyes of everyone, and get them much more lenient sentencing if the League chooses to prosecute them for their crimes. Whether or not the ends do justify the means, the outcome of that titanic battle is still going to factor hugely for them, most likely for the better.
