[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(08-21-2019, 12:12 PM)Iron Wrote: The Mega Stone looks a bit like Charizardite, but you think it's what's powering the necromancy. It's not X or Y for sure.

Ultra Ball: (4)(3)(5)(1)(2)(1) v (3)(2)(2)(4)(5)(4) Breaks
(5)(6)(1)(1)(5)(6) v (2)(4)(6)(2)(5)(2) Breaks out
(5)(2)(4)(4)(1)(5) v (1)(6)(5)(4)(3)(5) Breaks out
(4)(2)(5)(5)(3)(4) v (5)(2)(3)(2)(1)(5) There you go.

Undead Charizard was caught!
Type is Ghost/Fire
Ability is Blaze
0/0/5
Can't use held items and can't benefit from healing items
It knows every one of its possible moves, including ? moves.

Great Ball: (3)(6)(4)(5) v (1)(2)(5)

Gotcha! Aerodactyl was caught!
0/0/5
Rock Head
0XP moves + Crunch, Agility, Sky Drop, Hyper Beam, Dragon Breath.

Awesome!  Nathan knows who he's going to talk to about these two pokemon later, that's for sure.

Oh man.  That undead Charizard knows Fire Pledge and Blast Burn?!  How the heck did it learn those moves?  And more importantly...does that mean there might be a way for Charizard to learn Blast Burn nearby?  Nathan will have to keep his eyes peeled...

I assume for all intents and purposes, the undead Charizard is technically genderless, right?

As for the eggs, Nathan's definitely going to gather them all up.  Thinking about it, though...what gender is Aerodactyl?  These eggs had to come from somewhere, after all...and that Charizard and Aerodactyl were obviously a pair...

You can pick the gender of Aerodactyl, but the undead Charizard's original gender will be the opposite. Now it is functionally genderless.

HAH, it so satifying to see all the attacks being unable to do anything to Shiva, yay for the Shield!~ What's obviously sparking her interest is that this Klefki - apart from being a real and vivid exemplar in the first place!! - features a pretty golden color AND knows how to create duplicates of oneself, knowing all about Fairy Types Shiva would know that this is no skill a Klefki would learn naturally. How lucky!

She gives off a smile that feels almost too confident as Klefki accepts her challenge, and from the Ball she already prepared comes out Raphael! He soars across the slender cavern in grace. "Meet a fellow fairy!!! You're a sly lil' being to keep your copies up, but that's exactly what I like about you, so let's get on it and see who'll end up overtrumping the other! Raphael, I've got your back, forget your foe's steely aspects, but don't take this as a wildcard to attack blindly - Nono, quite the opposite, mess with their mind with all you've got, concentrate on THIS and try targeting the REAL exemplar! Someone's going to get captured tonight, oh yes they will !!" ~☆

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Orders for Raphael are independant of the Init Order, so I'll give them right away.
With the power of the Shield any damage Raphael would take this Round means nothing.

Accuracy Roll Raphael's Sweet Kiss 1: 4 Dext + 4*Fight + 4 Allure - 3 Inaccuracy - 3 Actions = 6d6
Effect: Confuses Klefki.
Secondary Effect: Smooooooch ♡♡♡

Accuracy Roll Raphael's Yawn 2: 4 Dext + 4*Fight + 6 Channel - 4 Actions = 10d6
Effect: Makes Klefki sleepy, they'll fall asleep when the next Round starts.
Secondary Effect: Getting tired already? The battle has just begun!

Accuracy Roll Raphael's Conditional Order 3: Depends.
Notes: This is a back-up order in case any of the upper Statuses fail to be inflicted, as the aim is to have Klefki confused, asleep and unpained when Round 2 starts. Use a Wish if Kelfki's already confused and drowsy by the time Raphael gets to this Action, it'd have 9d6 in Accuracy.

A Full-Heal Orchid is ready to be brought up shall Klefki inflict Raphael with any Status bar confusion, and so are two Steel Balls for Klefki once they are asleep and confused! 4 Seal Strength thanks to partial Steel type of the target, Shiva's been hoping that one of these special Balls would contain an exemplar of these steely fairies once, so she won't hold back until the capture suceeded.

Let's go with a female Aerodactyl, then.

Next question: can the pokedex tell how close are the eggs to hatching?  And if so, would it be possible to estimate how recently they were laid based on that?

Because assuming the Aerodactyl and Charizard were the parents, Charizard would have obviously have to have been...well, not a 'living' skeleton for that to be possible. Knowing how old the eggs are could help determine how long Charizard has been undead for.

Something weird is definitely going on with the Eggs, and the Pokedex doesn't even register some of them as living (the desiccated ones and the rocky one). You aren't sure it's even right about that. Given your experience with Primal Arcanine, you think there could be similar effects going on here.

However, the light purple and dark purple Eggs seem most normal in terms of lifespan, and could hatch sooner rather than later. The Pokedex gives them a week. But that doesn't mean they were laid recently.

By the state of the undead Charizard, it's been dead a long long time.

Klefki: (1) + 9 = 10
Raphael: (1) + 8 = 9

Crafty Shield 1
(4)(1)(4)(4)(1)(5) (3)(4)(2)(1)

Raphael's Sweet Kiss lands on one of the imitation keyrings. The illusion sticks to Togekiss's beak for a second before disappearing in a puff of smoke.

Yawn 2
(1)(2)(5)(5)(2)(4) (1)(1)(4)(4) = 4 success
Evade 2: (6)(5)(1)(2)(4)(1) (4)(3)(2)(1)(2) Klefki does manage to look at Togekiss while he's yawning, and will be affected by Yawn next round.

Sweet Kiss 3
(1)(1)(4)(4)(4)(1) = 2 success
Evade 3: (2)(5)(3)(3)(5)(6) (3)(3)(1)(2) = 3 success

Klefki jingles merrily when it realizes it's faster than Togekiss. All the keys and minarets swirl and move to block the way Togekiss and Shiva came in.
Block 4
(1)(1)(4)(3)(4)(1) (2)
Togekiss was trapped!

Torment 5
(4)(6)(1)(1)(4)(1)
Raphael won't be able to use Sweet Kiss or Yawn next round. However, Klefki will start the round asleep.

Hmmmm...this is weird.  Very weird.  Why would this place slow down egg incubation to a crawl?

...then again, this is the Skull Ruins.  Does anything have to make sense down here?

Probably not.

Well, Nathan carefully packs up the 5 eggs (yeesh, we're almost at the carry limit now...) and gets ready to meet back up with everyone else...

...as he does so, though, he notices his hand is shaking.  The one that was holding the Sword.  It was hard to notice in the middle of a battle, but now that he has time to carefully consider what just happened...

...that Sword's powerful.  Super powerful.  Almost as strong as a Legendary.

...just wielding that kind of power...it's nerve wracking in and of itself.  Should mortals even be allowed to wield such a tool, one that could fell even a Legendary?  And even though it was Calam who struck the blow with his horn, it almost felt as if Nathan was striking that Charizard directly...that power, that feeling of possibly being able to cause harm...

...knowing what the Sword does is one thing.  Actually experiencing it first hand is another.  Only after using it for the first time does Nathan really appreciate just how powerful this item really is...an item powerful enough to make any normal pokemon fear for their life with just a single swing...

...

...with great power comes great responsibility...the weight of the reasons why Nathan wields the Sword are all the greater now.  If it were to fall into the wrong hands...

...Nathan doesn't want to think about that right now.  He finishes packign up everything, recording notes in his journal, and heads back to meet the others.

It's time to get the Helm.

--------------------------------------------

*Bit of a Flashforward*

Trying to keep his distance from Cosh, Kelda, Shiva, Terra, and Heart is bound to only be awkward at best.  Seriously, Nathan feels like the only (aware) person he isn't on thin ice with for one reason or another right now is Spira.

- He can't stand being near Cosh for extended periods of time, for obvious reasons.
- He's not sure what the heck Kelda even thinks of him right now after what he said earlier.  He couldn't stay quiet, particularly when he might not have another chance to say something like that, but...did he push the point too hard?  He honestly doesn't know since she didn't seem to react in any noticeable way...
- Shiva's just...well, as awkward to be around as usual, to be honest.  Though given that she doesn't really want to talk to him either, it's probably for the best that they just avoid each other...
- Terra...well, to be fair, he'll still talk to Terra if need be, but...yeah, things are definitely still a little strained between them...
- Heart...after what the collector said earlier, Nathan just can't face him.

...except it's about time for Marco's daily Earthpower treatment since we just finished Encounter 3, right?  Which means asking for Heart's help with that...well, Nathan can certainly manage that, at least.  For his dad.  Marco is counting on Nathan, and he's not about to let his dad down, no matter what obstacles may come between them...

Remember the Super Potion will only heal 3 HP, since you've already used one Potion on Quetzal.

Gustav: (5) Going first.

"Gustav! Use Muddy Water 5x now! Focus most Muddy Water to include Condelkurr! Doublade! Wide Guard 3x! (Using Will Point in the third Wide Guard to make sure it will work). Then go with Rock Smash against Condelkurr, then go with Shadow Sneak against Condelkurr! If he faint, focus your attack on Hitmontop! Also Gustav, if they get Flinched because of the Razor Claw, get this momentum to use Swords Dance! If any of you get to much hurt (around half HP) I use a potion!"

Muddy Water Accuracy: Dex(7*)+Fight(5)+Channel(3)-Actions(5/6/7/8/9) = 10D6/9D6/8D6/7D6/6D6
Damage: Power(3)+STR(5)/STR(7*)+STAB(1)= 9D6/11D6
Effect: D3 to reduce foes accuracy. Extra effect of 1D6 flinch with each attack due to Razor Claw.

In case they get Flinched:

Swords Dance: Dex(7*)+Fight(5)+Channel(3)-Actions(5)=10D6
Effect: Add 2 more strengh.

Wide Guard Accuracy: Dex(7*)+Fight(5)+Channel(3)+Wide Lens(1)-Actions(5/6/7) = 11d6/10D6/9D6
Effect: Reduce 3 dice damage. Priority 3. Also each summon has a +3 difficulty so next dices would be 7D6 and 4D6.

Rock Smash: Dex(7*)+Fight(5)+Brawl(3)+Wide Lens(1)-Actions(8)= 8D6
Damage: Power(4)+STR(5)= 9D6
Effect: D5 to reduce foe Defenses.

Shadow Sneak: Dex(7*)+Fight(5)+Brawl(3)+Wide Lens(1)-Actions(9)= 7D6
Damage: Power(2)+STR(5)+STAB(1) = 8D6
Effect: Priority attack.
