[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
*Cough* *Cough* *Cough* "What the heck?!" Spira squints, trying to peer through the dust and detritus, to see what's going on. When Shiva asks if anyone is going to the Center, Spira speaks up, "I'm going as well." While he is in the center he heals and adjusts his party in the following way
@Dragonstrike:
Before he heads to the Pokemon Center, Spira returns Ditto's Pokeball to Nathan, saying "Thanks." (OOC Note: Ditto currently has 18 exp)

Terra's reaction to arriving back on the surface is to instantly swivel in the direction that DEOXYS is in, his eyes narrowing as a powerful shiver wracks his frame despite his best efforts to keep himself stoically grave. On yeah, he could feel THEM now clearly, and he knows in the pit of his gut that whatever they're up to right now was NOT GOOD. Other than that, he doesn't visibly or overtly act to the recent potentially cataclysmic events, looking completely unaffected and bothered by the Duststorm that was suffocating the air and nipping away at him. His decade or so of experience roughing in the the frontier lands and wilds of his home region left him mostly inured to being battered by the elements, and he'd braved and survived the deserts below Mt. Chimney many of time without qualm, so this 'weather' was practically nothing to him beyond what caused it.

When Shiva voices her plans, the sagely monk would waste no time in stepping right beside her, giving the fae lady a single nod and waiting for her make haste to it (The Center). In a crisis situation such of the one happening right now, he was NOT going to leave her going off unattended and fail to protect and uphold his duty towards her by tempting fate with his absence. That, and he'd want to get his partner healed up and adjust his team for the final fight, and the only place he could do that right now was the Center itself, so it was both the right and pragmatic thing to do, really! In fact, one of the first things he'd do after/while getting his Pokemon healed is ask the Nurse if the Pokemart was still open, as well as the local markets, as he wanted to both offload all the loot he and the group collected and liquidate it into Poke for them to spend on battle preparations. If the stores weren't open here......well, he'd have to think of something else, then.

Angie would probably burrow herself underground ASAP on the outskirts of town and wait for her papa/the rest of the group there, as she knows by now her presence would most likely cause quite the stir in almost any settlement, and the last thing she wants to do right now is cause her papa and his friends any trouble, ESPECIALLY in an ongoing disaster!

You step through the Morgusi portal into Cress City. You wave the dust out of your eyes; it's everywhere. Some of it is sharp enough to mildly cut you when the wind picks up.

There are no people around, even for the sparsely populated city. You can hear a clamor coming from the Gym, the PokeCenter, and the Cathedral. A big plume of smoke rises into the air far to the southwest, easily visible from here.

Nathan tries his absolute hardest to keep that dust out of his eyes, but to no avail.  There's just way, way too much of it. And to think that all of this was probably kicked up by the comet's impact...  "...dang it, I'm going to have to wash those thoroughly later..." Nathan mumbles.  (OOC: for those confused, Nathan wears contacts.  He doesn't really talk about it, though, and very few people outside of his immediate family know IC as a result)

Well, nothing he can do about that right now.  Besides, there are bigger problems right now.

"We need to act fast.  If that plume of smoke is any indication, Deoxys is already wreaking havoc, and the League is having trouble keeping up with it.  I wouldn't be surprised if there are clones spreading out and doing most of the dirty work...they might not be as strong as the original, but that doesn't mean they aren't dangerous..."

No need to exchange any words when Spira returns Ditto to Nathan.  The young trainer simply nods in response.

(BTW, speaking of returning pokemon, how much exp does Solomon currently have, @Lord Windos?)

Windos raises a good point.  It's probably rather unlikely that any shops are open in Cress City right now, given that the place is rather devoid of people.  If the citizens aren't in hiding, they were probably evacuated.

"...the Pokemon Center, the Cathedral, and the Gym...those are some rather big, standout buildings that are frequented by a lot of people...I wouldn't be surprised if Deoxys hit them first because of a large concentration of people there...and there's obviously still trouble in those places, too...either Deoxys or its clones are still hanging around, or this is just the aftermath of an initial strike.  Everyone, be careful.  We're essentially in enemy territory now.  If Deoxys has come this far already, then we need to expect opposition on the way to the center of this whole mess.  And if that's the case, that would mean Teleporting closer to the center is out of the question due to the extreme danger."  (I recently picked up the Phoenix Wright Trilogy on Switch.  Got my thinking cap on right now, lol)

Nathan turns to face the direction the Gym is in.  "...if anyone can get us a proper update on what exactly is going on with Deoxys, it's the local Gym Leader.  Maybe she's at the Gym."

What Shiva would like to do at the Pokemon Center - assuming she makes it to get there safely in the first place, just in case she's got the Shield and Yena to protect her from any suprise!-psychic assaults - is trying to get to know what happened in the meantime, where everyone is and what the League's doing to defend their region from what came from space. She too needs to rearrange her party of Pokemon to prepare it for the eventual showdown-to-come, and wishes to sell some loot in order to stock up on some Max Potions before being ready to head southwest, she lets the others know that she likes to stop by at the Sacred Grove. "Would like to talk to Primal Lurantis if They're there in the first place... And see if I can't convince Them to join that fight." She's saying this a bit timidly, but determination's laying inbetween the pages.

"That's right next to Elanor.  Unless we know it's 100% safe to Teleport to Teazel Valley, then to Elanor from there, I'm not sure we'll be able to get there without running into Deoxys.  I'm pretty certain they'll get involved if they need to protect their home, though."

Nathan's currently operating on the assumption that it isn't safe to Teleport to Teazel Valley and surrounding areas.

"I'll go check what's going on at the Gym. See if they need any help and if any Gym Leaders are helping out there that can give us an idea of what the big picture is currently."

Nope, Shiva kinda wishes to speak with Them and ask directly because she's got a small proposal for the precious orchid mantis. And Minicorn and Flabebe are there, at least for the time of the fight she'd like to have them 100% safely in a PC Box of hers or similar.

"Figure out if it's safe to go, and we can go.  But keep it quick if you can. We don't have the luxury of taking our time right now, and I'd rather not we Teleport directly into danger."

(OOC reminder about Teleport: unless the restrictions on it are lifted via a Surprise, it can only takw characters to safe locations. And only within a certain distance, too.)

There is a buzz around the Pokemon center, but at least you are seeing people now. Mostly they are entering. Very few are leaving.

Asking a woman at random, she explains her side of the story. "It was horrible! This twirling spaghetti Pokemon came through - they say it's a Deoxys from space! - and walked through a block of buildings. It kept looking around, and every time it made eye contact, people went crazy! It captured a lot of our Pokemon, too, sucking them into floating shiny rocks! Everyone is evacuating to the Gym, the Cathedral, and the PokeCenter. Nurse Joy and Brother Scheindel are in charge here. If you want space, and blankets and food, you have to ask them!"

Her boyfriend adds "They're saying it's the same all over Creshire. Cell reception has gone spotty. Even the PC takes twice as long to load. The League is camped out at Bill's house."

Is there anything different happening at the Gym, or is it more of the same events and answers?

At the Gym, Tanuki is organizing proficient trainers to defend the refugees, who are clustered into every room. Her Zigzagoon are running everywhere on errands and bringing in lost people. She comes over to you.

"Nathan! Are you available to help shore up our defenses here? Dagny is sending a dozen Lairon and a Bisharp. We're trying to hunker down while the League gets its offenses in place. The Elite are massing, and there are even a few Legendary Pokemon who might make an appearance!" She seems a little excited, almost.
