[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Heart was quiet listening everything Chorizo was saying with deep silence. Many of his words he read when he first learn in the book in the Ancient Library.

When Chorizo disappear, with his bag and Pokeball, Heart look at him with angry look. "Oye! Give me back my things!" Heart then quick descends the mountain as much as possible, but at the same time having the care not to fall in the mountain. Rose was with him, ready to save his trainer if necessary.

There is any danger happening right now?

There are a few dangers, but they are all minor to you when you're with Rose. Nosepass? Destroyed with fighting moves. Frosty Pokemon, or magnetic Pokemon? Destroyed with fire. Cliffs, ravines, crumbling floors? You encounter them all on your journey down, but Rose easily keeps you safe when you aren't strong enough on your own.

You pass a variety of terrain, from crystal clear mountain tarns to an entire mini-mountain-peak that's made entirely out of Geodude, Graveler, and Roggenrola.

In addition to the Pokemon/types mentioned above, you see a few Machop running away along the mountain, their bodies almost horizontal on some of the steeper slopes. A few curious Murkrow gather around to see why a human with no items and just a lone Pokemon is here on the mountain. The Dark/Flying types seem to have something of a truce with the Machop.

"Psychic move tutoring is special indeed. You see, it's not a human trainer who has most mastered psychic moves in Creshire. It's a Pokemon! A Delta Machamp, living on a tiny island in Murkrow Cove where he faces all his fears daily."

Hoppip loves playing with Whimsicott near the river. It's nice to have a floating plant companion. +1 Happiness and Loyalty for Hoppip.

You don't have to worry about Encounter Slots now, unless it's very important that you do 3+ things all in the same day. It's so easy now to FLY to a Pokemon Center and heal up, and no travel time!

Each Gym Leader is represented in the fan letters somehow - most have a note signed by all their assistants and support staff.
Darius would definitely have sent a fan letter, good thinking.

Heart was able to dispatch most enemy Pokemon along the way, trying to find Chorizo. "Argh. I swear to Arceus when I find Chorizo I gonna give him some good burning wound of third degree! How dare to him steal my Pokemon and bag! Rose, any idea about the direction where that guy go?"

Heart see the Machop but decided to avoid them. "We better be careful with those Machop Rose. They might be territory Pokemon and might try to attack us. With no items, it might be wise avoid them."

Heart then decided to avoid the Murkrow and Machop, for chances of survive.

Ugh, Delta Pokemon - for a splt second it looks like Shiva would grimace out of not being very fond of these Types of Pokemon, but she restrains from doing so before Farore and instead gives herself delighted and amazed. A Pokemon being able to teach moves to other Pokemon, quite efficiently even? THAT's surely something! ヽ(°〇°)ノ

"A... A Pokemon, for real? Whaohw... And, uhm, is that Delta Machamp safe and fine to approach, is there anything I should know or bring along if I wish to...meet him and let him tutor one or two Pokemon of mine? Any advice is fine, please tell me!"

(Huh nice, no worrying about Encounter Slots. ^^ I'll probably still think in Encounter Slots because that way it's easier for me to keep track of time and activities.)

Shiva's finding it very refreshing and energizing to just lay here in the grass, listen to the splashing of the river's water - speaking about Greenbriar River, Vaporeon is left to play and explore that place too - , watch her fluffball and dandelion play in the breeze of the wind and calmly go through every letter. Every single one is making her blush and smile and become even more proud of herself, and of course she's going to keep them all!~ Especially the one from Darius, that one's holding a special place in her heart; because if she wouldn't have Ventus already, she'd very likely try to get closer to him. He seemed to like her, and she found him very cute and kind. Hehehe...♡

It's so relaxing that Shiva soon turns around for a nap right here, she's got some Pokemon out to warn and protect her and the Shield if needed. After so much action down the Skull Ruins, battling Clones of Deoxys and fighting the Prime, such chill downtime is right up her ally.

*********

A little later, an hour or two, she's getting up and stretching herself, and Whimsicott instantly tackle-hugs her as a good-morning-greeting; Hoppip eagerly following. Shiva joyfully laughs about that and cuddles her two Grass Types. "Haha, it's nice to see you two again as well! I wasn't away though, not really... Unless the fields of my dreams count of course!~~"

Then she lets them go, puts on a determined smile and adjusts her glasses. Whimsicott and Hoppip give their Master a curious look. "Alright, now that we've hand and enjoyed our well-deserved break, let us get some work done. Let's see... You two have gotten to know one another in the meantime, haven't you? ^_^" Both nod. "Good! 'Cause that will become handy now. You know, dear Hoppip..." Shiva genty strokes the pink creature, "There's a skill you know that I wish for you to help Whimsi master as well... A move shrouded in darkness and bad thoughts, one that matches a sly fairy like her so well. This move...It's called 'Memento'! That's short for a Latin saying. Feelings of grief and bitterness surround that saying and even the very word, and also are the key to this move. Unfortunately, using this move causes you to ....f-faint, but the effect is has on the targeted foe makes it a splendid last-resort-action! So how about it, dear Hoppip - Let's train a little, concentrate all your negative emotions and please show me how you perform this move, but don't overdo it as I DON'T want you to faint!! Whimsi, dearest, you please pay attention and then we'll try to get you do the same. Alright?"

All those feelings of hopelessness and misery Hoppip concentrates may at some point become hard to deal with for Shiva's empathic senses, but she pushes through to get a good understanding of this move. Once she has, the three work on having the fluffball learn using Memento as well. This move is on Whimsicott's (but not Cottonee's) list of ?-moves, so it should be fine.

Tutoring Roll: 6 Insight + 5 Knowledge + 5 Move Tutoring = 16d6 +1 autosuccess for Hoppip helping
10 successes are needed to make it. I'm curious whether I'll get those on the first try with that^ dice pool.

Mesprit dons the amulet and you step briefly inside the mind of the Emotions Pokemon. Immediately you feel the discrepancy between the simple, sad face of Mesprit vs the whirling dervish of feelings inside. You have just enough time to find the thought at the center of Mesprit's brain before you are hurled out again and the amulet needs to recharge.

Concern for the Trio is there, and for other Legendary Pokemon in troubling situations, but somehow Mesprit is concerned about the fate of the ocean as a whole? Using its psychic powers and the abilities of its brethren, Mesprit seems to see an upcoming danger to the entire ocean. The details are vague, but you experience the same emotion you get when you stare at that bulletin board of Legendaries in the Almanac war room.

Holding them off is only a minor inconvenience. You reach the bottom of the mountain in due course, and find Chorizo waiting for you with your bag and Pokemon at his feet.

"Delta Machamp is not aggressive, but I've heard he doesn't like Dark types or those who train them. Good luck. Take some cocoa with you."

Vaporeon gains a Loyalty.

Move Tutoring sessions will now give you average successes, rounded down, so you get 9 successes out of 10.

"Whoa.  Okay, that was a rush..."  The sheer amount of emotion was almost overwhelming.  The power of a Legendary...it's truly something else.  Nathan has to take a moment to center himself.

Once he does, though, it's time to get to the heart of this matter.  "...the ocean, huh?  Hmmm...I'm actually about to go looking for the HM for DIVE, so I think I definitely should be able to help even if the problem is underneath the surface of the water.  Probably even going to end up dealing with related issues along the way if my gut feeling is correct..."

That leads into the next question.  "So...I wanted to ask you something, Mesprit.  Would it be okay if we were to...well, to keep it simple, partner up and help each other on a more regular basis?  I've been worried about some of the things I've seen and heard, but I'd definitely feel more confident with tackling some of those issues if I know we've got each others' backs.  And I wouldn't want you to bear the burdens you do without someone to share the load, either."

Even if it's unofficially happened already, the question is still an important one.  Nathan really is concerned about Mesprit and the state of...well, everything.  He knows this won't be an easy commitment.  He wants to help, though, in whatever small way he can.  Asking this question is just how he's voicing it.

Besides, Mesprit also represents something...special for Nathan.  It was Mesprit's prophecy that helped him start finding his own path and meaning in life.  Mesprit might owe Nathan for freeing it from its 'prison', but Nathan also owes Mesprit quite a lot in a way.  That's why he considers Mesprit a friend.

(Aww I thought you'd roll at least for Move Tutoring because it'd make sense, but then not. Nevermind thought, Shiva still almost mastered the move in one go. ^^ )

Keeping all of Farore's words concerning this extraordinaire Machamp in mind, Shiva thankfully waves the icy Master Tutror goodbye and makes her way back down to Ginger Town - on Tropius' wings of course, just because she has a Shield that'll protect her from damage doesn't mean that she'd dare to climb down a steep mountain. Ughh, no way! Σ(°△°|||)︴

Being back on firm ground again, she stops by Zamboni's Gym to return the oxigen tank he burrowed her - "It's been good that you let me take one along, the air up there...is indeed somewhat thin" - and then makes haste to the Pokemon Center to bring those Pokemon into her party that she wishes to be tutored by Delta Machamp; as well as Raphael. Whimsicott of course stays within her party, and so do Tropius and Primal Espeon. She mindfully leaves any of her Dark Types in a PC Box of hers.

Next the dear fae-enthusiast visits a nearby shop/several shops if necessary to obtain some qualitative cocoa in a reusable cup as well as some cocoal beans. While Shiva isn't entirerly sure why Farore advices her to take some along, she carefully does as told.

Prepared like that, the grassy sauropode and benelovent archangel are summoned; and after a gentle hug for both and some words about what they'll be doing together now Shiva climbs on the back of the former and gets herself comfortable. "Alright you two, now we'll be flying eastwards towards the coast, towards the port, towards Murkrow Cove. As said, you, Tropius, please concentrate on flying, while me and you, Raphael, will keep our eyes and senses open for this special Machamp. Understood? ...Yes? Great, then let's get going! ( ÒωÓ)و☆ "

And so, Shiva and her two flying companions take off into the air, their destination being an extraordinaire Pokemon living on a tiny island where it appearantly faces its fears on a daily base. She's curious what in particular this means... As well as how Delta Machamp will react to her, generally and because of her awakened bloodline granting her an increased loyalty from Psychic Type Pokemon.
