Howl will use Houndoom, Umbreon, Liepard, and Alolan Persian.
Aww, THAT's the answer Shiva has wished and hoped for, having her issues to conceal a smile full of joyous anticipitation she follows Howl down into his Gym. Her eyes need a bit to get used to the setting and darkness down there, but she finds herself eyeing the Dusk and Sun Stone with curiosity and interest.
Itemwise she'd prefer for any medicine that heal HP of a Pokemon to be permitted from being used in this battle, but HP-Draining is allowed. Same is for stuff that'll heal Status, those can be spammed to heart's content on both her and Howl's side. Held Items are of course fine. Shiva doesn't have to voice that she will not make use of the Ancient Shield as that protection would grant her an unfair advantage. She'd rather have and enjoy a clean fair fight where she and her dear Pokemon have rightfully earned the victory.
The first of her Pokemon she's going to send out... ...is Kyuu!~ Two bushy darkblue tails tipped with white swirl around his slender body as he gracefully lands on on his hindpaws just in time with Howl's big Houndoom.He bristles all his fur and hisses a bit at that hell of a doggo, but does not appear to be fearful - Shiva has given him a task, a task that he'll put his heart into fulfilling. As Houndoom aggressively bares their teeth at him, Kyuu snarls back: 'I do not fear your darkness, dontcha underestimate me and my psychic powers!', he nonverbally conveys to Houndom and to Howl himself.

Kyuu's prankful nature enables him to toy with Houndoom before they can react, so he quickly gets a Reflect AND a Light Screen up: Full protection now, hah! The Light Clay he's currently holding nicely adds some enhanced durability to these screens. Houndoom's blackness still manages to hurt Kyuu though, it's too risky to burn another slot by miracle-eying, and so the psychic nekomata begins to fiercely fight back with the loveliest of singing voice and most dazzling of beams, dealing some non-STAB'd normal damage to the fierly canine of darkness.
It's not enough to defeat them though, Kyuu eventually succumbs to a final Crunch. Still Shiva can feel the delight within him as she recalls him into his Pokeball as he has managed to fulfil mentioned task. "Very well done, dear one, you played your role brilliantly", she whispers to him. A faint smile responds.
NEXT! The Pokemon appearing now to finish off Houndoom is... a dog itself, one held in black and grey, one which's appearance tends to intimidate those nearby, one that features a unique twist to every Mightyena one may have ever seen: It's Yena, Shiva's special phenotype'd wolf!
He spreads these wings widely and gets into a pose ready to leap into an attack, just waiting on a word from Shiva - who is holding back a coy grin over the certainty that not even that lover of dogs Howl is might has seen a Mightyena like THAT one. "Come on, Yena, we'll now fight darkness with darkness!~"

There's a LOT of howling, yelping and barking as it's now Mightyena vs Houndoom, it's quite the view to see two canines of such a caliber fighting so fiercely. Houndoom may have the firepower, but Yena has his enhanced biting force, the protection of the screens set up by Kyuu and the power of a HM that'll smash rocks into dust like it was nothing. Ohhh and he's loving to have that advantage over Houndoom, one smack follows the other, that Expert Belt he's wearing as a collar nicely adds to the damage dealt!
Houndoom soon goes down, letting Yena standing there as the one who has proven his higher rank in the hierarchy. That's calling for a victory howl! He's raging for MOOOOAR, that butterwolfly's not even tired yet, in fact his adrenaline is just about to rush in; let me battle, let me fight, LEMME do that, every hair of Yena's black neck-fur seems to vividly scream that!!
And of course Shiva let's Yena have that fun, he's going to stay out as Howl sends out the Eeveelution of darkness, a night of the full moon turned into a Pokemon, the Pokemon that makes Shiva let out a squal of joy: It's an Umbreon! Yena eagerly returns the grim glance and intimidating pose the elegant creature's giving him. The natural fae enthusiast's going to observe Howl's Umbreon closely and with delight, being involuntarily reminded on Spectral. <3
The barking, howling, yelping and snarling continues as the battle rages on! Especially the snarling-part is made heard as Yena voices his displeasure over being attacked with a bunch of Eevee-exclusive moves or alternatively moves channeling sheer blackness. Shiva holds back with exploiting the advantage of the rocksmashing SE-attack, it's not much fun for her to make things that easy. She's relying on the massive biting force of her butterwolfly for now, letting Yena sink his fangs into Umbreon like an alpha wolf would into a tired prey! Bite after bite it goes, an attack is responded by a counter-attack, the two Pokemon are almost one with the darkness around, sparkling Shield Dust from Yena's wings scatters everywhere, it's hard to fully make out which of the two is overtrumping the other...
...but then Umbreon staggers after having taken a critical bite into their right foreleg, they are trying to not let that pain get the better of themselves, they're fighting with themselves for a bit - and then Umbreon is going down!! Yena's panting as he himself has taken some blows, his howling is not lacking though. 'That was a good battle, black feline, nicely done!'
Yena looks delighted and proud of himself as Shiva calls him back to her side, he thankfully accepts a treat and a ruffle of his fur before he's too being recalled into the comfyness of his Ball.
Halfway done now, the battle between the natural fae enthusiast and the bipolaric Gym Leader of darkness continues.
And it has become time for Shiva to draw the Pokeball containing her secret ace against Howl, a loyal companion that she came to in a roundabout way, a 'Mon of hers looking so intimidating that it makes one think twice before even daring to wrong nature: It is
Shiva's tactic of fighting darkness with darkness instead of trying to light said darkness goes on, the big and bulky panda huffs and prepares as Howl quietly sends out his third Pokemon for this fight: A slender and pretty Liepard, meowing endearingly. Shiva knows all to well that this is just to mask its vicious and merciless nature.

Is Liepard prepared to face Pangoro as their opponent, can they keep up with the sheer power he's got in his fists? He himself is all confidant that they're not, and Shiva's got a sly grin on her face as she directs Pangoro into the arena with an elegant handwave! Pangoro's going to pump EVEN MOAR force and vigor into himself by working up, the it's showtime for him and show's over for Liepard: A Bullet Punch with his left, a Drain Punch with his right, and eventually a Circle Throw accompanied by a loud growl as Pangoro sends the fainted panther right back where they came from; that catlike foe was almost too easy, now bring on the more dangerous ones!!~~
It's three outta four Pokemon down for Howl now, he's got one last choice of a 'Mon to deal with Shiva's panda! She looks pleased over him having made short shrift with Liepard and mightily curious of Howl's last ace up his sleeve.
That distinct round face, that magnificient coat of blue-grey fur, those eyes looking down on anything but itself: Shiva quickly recognizes that last ace as the Alolan variant of a Persian! 'Quite the fitting choice for him despite he seems to be more into dogs than cats', she thinks to herself.
Pangoro obviously stays out, and his eyes are GLARING at this graceful feline as they are giving him a hiss and a 'bring-it-on'-glance. Is this cat making fun of him??! Hummmmppppfff, you're going to laugh like that once I've finished you off, a protective coat of fur on your side or not! Speaking about protection, the screens are STILL there to grant some to Pangoro himself.
Well then, Shiva's order for Pangoro is a blunt allowance to pummel some senses into this extraordinaire Persian and use some of that drainpunch'd energy to heal himself up. Persian of course quickly picks up on that and makes it avoid some of the blows with classy movements before striking themselves, but Pangoro's massively amount of HP and constant healing make him very hard to wear down. Oh, and trying to exploit his increased weakness to the fae is not going to happen as Shiva has properly accounted for that; a Roseli Berry he has hidden in his fur efficiently nullifies any worry about that aspect.
The sheer power of the blows Pangoro's delivering is quite the show to enjoy, Alola Persian does not seem to show how these are quickly starting to tire them out. They tackle hit after hit, don't even stagger or slow down, they seem to continue fighting like nothing has happened! Shiva, thanks to her sharp eye and quick wits, realizes when it has become time for the last attack that'll decide over winning or loosing this fight, and orders for Pangoro to finish things off properly. He does so with a wide and powerful outraged smack with his claws, and THAT hit causes Perisan to let out a sharp hiss before they succumb and go down. 'You may have defeated me, big panda, but just wait, wait for my revenge as we will see who's going to be laughing then!!'
This labels Shiva as the one standing as the winner against Howl!! A Gym Badge, pride and the sweet sweet~ feeling of victory are the reward, and mechanically that'll make her a character featuring 7*Insight!! A personal goal I've been pursuing for her; it started with interest in how this Stat can influence non-combat Encounters, went onwards to her awakening sixth sense and ended with sweet Shiva beating dear Ventus in his own game of empathy.
