[Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery
(01-09-2020, 03:23 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: Ran breathed a sigh of relief when the colourful musician agreed with his plan, pleased that neither he nor the rest of the group would be getting showed in Hail for the time being. Condition were terrible enough as is without everyone and their partners getting pelted by sharp and pointy ice!

He's also inwardly pleased/relieved that his deterrent duo of girls were doing a terrific job keeping the wild riff raff away for the most part as they traveled the upper path, though he doesn't let that ease him in the slightest. After all, 'for the most part' doesn't mean they warded off all of them tundric pests, as evident by the a scant few Tough and/or exotic looking critters popping up from the snow to carefully observe them as the Weather cleared.

Case in point, the bristly blacksmith spotted that peculiar Excadrill*  watching him and his partners like a Hawlucha, and after deliberating what to do about it let out a small grunt and quietly spoke to everyone.

"If none of ya mind, I'll take care of the Excadrill* sizing us up. Don't want to chance that mole Digging the ground out beneath us in a Ambush later, and if I catch it maybe we can convince it to help us tunnel our way through to the top of Coronet. No promises, though."

If nobody has any objections, he'll prep himself for the fight by switching out Catherine for Zorn (Abilities and Item being Rough Skin and Rocky Helmet), and directing Brigid to cart him over to it and summon his scaled brute to do battle with it. It's been a little while since they had a chance to tear stuff up, and he still had a promise to them to keep, so what better way to fulfil both than sicc his Dragon on a species of Pokemon they normally prey/compete with?

(Waiting for Zorn's reaction and the Initiatives, if nobody objects to me taking this Encounter!)

Zorn is snarling at Excadrill, a rival tunnel dweller.  The Excadrill sharpens its claws and scowls in turn and fully emerges from the snow to stand off against the dragon.

And it's a biiiiig mole.  It's almost as tall as Zorn, and it definitely looks like it's gonna pick a fight now!

Excadrill Round 1 Initiatives
Zorn: (4) + 9 = 13
Excadrill: (3) + 10 = 13

Zorn goes first.

Quote:2. Drampa
Difficulty: Hard
Cap: 2
Note: Is looking at Stella curiously from its perch on a cliff.

A few moments later Kee almost trips and falls forward into the snow as a FACE seems to, well, face his firerly fox from atop of a cliff. For a split second he mistakes it for someonelse and questions his sanity/wonders whether this place really isn't heaven or the afterlife, but then it turns out to be the face of a Pokemon. Of a Pokemon he's all too familiar with, though dafaque is THAT gentle giant doing here in Sinnoh??! Either the species has spread without science noticing, or it's connected to that anomalia surrounding Mount Coronet.

Well, whatever it may be, that dragon is staring at Stella. Quite curiously even. Not in the way an aggressive Pokemon about to attack would face an opponent - or do they? He hopefully hasn't done anything to agitate that dragon... Well, for now all Kee does is looking back to meet the dragon's glance, and also encourages Stelle to do so as well. "They're not goin' to attack us, dontcha hide into your blanket like that, dear one, look how gentle that dragon appear to be - RIGHT?" That was adressed to the dragon themselves. "Ya're not here to cause trouble for me, are ya? I am neither... Ya're wondering what's with the blizzard, or...?"

Drampa looks up at the sky, then back at Stella.  It tilts is head curiously, as if trying to ask a question.

When asked if it's here to cause trouble, it shakes its head.

Stella continues being shy, trying to hide in the blanket from the big, scary looking dragon.

With that on mind, he approach Lucas and Karen. "I find something odd. Two to be more precise. That mini elephant over there?" He pointed towards Snopach. "It is a fossil Pokemon, Snopach. He doesn't exist anymore, so it makes me wonder why it is here. I gonna check him and maybe ask him join my party. With such rare Ice type could help us pass thought the storm."

"Also, the Pokemon in the mountain is a Alpico, a Ice fairy, from my region again. He looks...stra strange somehow, so can I ask you too to check him? If you could convince him to join me in peace or capture, I would be happy and very grateful. I will compensate you two for that somehow don't worry."

With that said, if they accept, Kogeki begin his approach to the mammoth Pokemon.

Lucas: "I can go and check it out if ya like.  They look pretty tough if it comes to a fight, though.  Might even give some of my pokemon a run for their money, honestly."

Karen: "I was actually thinking about looking at that weird looking bug over there.  Buuuut I guess if that skiing rabbit could be trouble...do you think you might need some help, Lucas?"

Lucas: "Help would definitely be appreciated."

Karen: "No guarantees we'll be trading it to you, though Kogeki, okay?  That...Alpico, was it?...looks kinda cute now that I look at it again..."

(Lucas and Karen will both be unavailable for other encounters during this cycle if they tackle Alpico together.  If Alpico is captured, it can possibly be traded for later for something of sufficient value that might interest whoever caught it.)

GM's Note: Lucas tends to be on standby, doing his own thing, unless asked to participate in something specific or someone gets in trouble while he's available. Karen, meanwhile, was considering the Larvesta encounter because it is Moderate, but has been convinced to help with the Alpico encounter since Lucas is checking it out.

Normally, such unchecked ferocity on his draconic subterror's part ould be a cause of moderate concern (and irritation, potentially anger) for Ran, but in this cause he's in full approval of it, bearing his own teeth at the ironclad mole and jabbed a defiant finger at it and started barking commands almost as savagely as the two tunnel dwellers are growling!

"ZORN, GIVE THAT OVERGROWN SHREW THE MEANEST GLARE YOU GOT, THEN POUND AND SHRED IT INTO MINCEMEAT WITH BULLDOZE, CRUNCH, AND IRON HEAD! SHOW 'EM THAT STEEL TYPE OR NOTHING, YOU DAMN WELL DON'T MESS WITH A DRAGON!!"

Orders: Keeping it simple and straightforward for the brutish terror (Should they listen): Glare (With a Conditional Will Point on it, if he uses it), followed by Bulldoze, Crunch, and Iron Head in that order. If they lose 3 or more HP, they'll be getting a Potion ASAP. Depths Dragon vs Metallic Mole, FIGHT!

But how I suppose to trade something with same value? It's a Tandor Pokemon, and no way I will trade my other Tandor Pokemon for Alpico. That's now not fair, I just asking for help, not for some sort of hunting something's to hunt trade or something. How I suppose find a Pokemon with same value as a Alpico? You know this is not Tandor but Sinnoh right? I suppose to find a Shiny Actan or something for trade? Why not sell my other organs then?

Despite my... reservations and disagreement in trade for Alpico later (still think it is a low move Dragonstrike, not cool), Kogeki go toward Snopach and talk with him. "Crazy weather. Even living here in Cheshire I never get used to this cold weather." Then he sit in the snow close to Snopach. "Heya by the way. Name Kogeki. Kogeki Kuraymi. Nice to meet ya."

Action: Friendly approach towards Snopach.

Forgot to mention. Lucas can go towards Alpico and Karen can get the Larvesta like she originally planned. I think the champion can handle alone.

Kogeki ask Karen to use her Magnetone to create a magnetic field. There is something Kogeki want to test out and enter in contact with someone. This is before Snopach meet Kogeki.

"...um...okay?  I'm not sure if it'll work in this blizzard, but I can try..."

Karen summons her Magneton and orders them to use Electric Terrain to try and boost cell signals...

...and it doesn't boost the signal at all.

In fact, there doesn't seem to be any sign of a signal at all, now that Kogeki and Karen check their phones.  It's almost as if the group is in a deadzone of some kind right now...

...and given the fact that time is literally distorting around Mt. Coronet from what the group can tell from the evidence presented to them so far, that probably won't change any time soon and could be for any number of reasons.

Kogeki sigh in frustration. "Damn it! How I gonna enter in contact now?" Kogeki thought and thought…until a idea spark in his mind! He grab a piece of paper and begin to write.

Professor, I need your help with something. Lucas and Karen had found a odd Pokemon of my region. They open to trade for something in exchange, but I don't have anything good for trade. I need you to enter in contact with Mizu, Mera or my son Renji and ask them if they have something a Pokemon interesting enough for trade. And then ask them to send to my PC. Oh, and don't forget to send Hime back!
Assign: Kogeki Kuraymi.

After writing this message, Kogeki summon Hime. "Hime, I have a mission for you. I gonna send you the City where professor Rowan is, and you need to deliver him this letter. Go as quickly as possible. We don't have much time, so I trusting you with that."

Hime nod her head, and Kogeki return her to the Pokeball. And then he write one thing in Hime Pokeball:

Give Pokeball to professor Rowan. Now!

And then Kogeki send Hime to his PC, hoping for her success. And he approach Snopach.
